Biden: Impeach Bush if He Takes Action Against Iran
November 30th, 2007 at 01:06am Mark Noonan
Well, it is a way for a second-rate Presidential candidate to get in the news - as well as wow the lefties:
PORTSMOUTH — Presidential hopeful Delaware Sen. Joe Biden stated unequivocally that he will move to impeach President Bush if he bombs Iran without Congressional approval.
Biden spoke in front of a crowd of approximately 100 at a Seacoast Media Group forum Thursday, which focused on the Iraq War and foreign policy. When an audience member expressed fear of another war with Iran, he said he does not typically engage in threats, but had no qualms about issuing a direct warning to the oval office.
“The President has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran and if he does, as foreign relations committee chairman, I will move to impeach,” said Biden, which was followed by a raucous applause.
Biden said he is in the process of meeting with constitutional law experts to prepare a legal memorandum saying as much, and intends to send it to the President.
Senator Biden will need some constitutional experts - because he needs to be told that only the House can impeach. The Senate holds the trial only if the House impeaches…so, until such time as an article of impeachment comes from the House, the only thing Biden has to do to occupy his time is make innane statements to scant crowds as he goes about his rather quixotic bid for the White House.
But I’ll bet dollars to donuts there are lefties out there on Kos right now writing “at last” sorts of posts about how, finally!, someone is going after Chimpy McSmirk BusHitler in a serious manner….

I think SENATOR Biden should be impeached for trying to usurp the power of the House of Representatives.

I think Senator “Plugs” Biden ought to resign the Senate, and run for the House. He’s once again shown his arse, that he’s another “finger in the air” Donkaroach phony, and with the nuts already in the House–Kookcinich, Paul, Jackson-Lee, Jackoff Murtha, Pete Stark, Maurice Henchey, et.al.–Biden would be a perfect fit. He could be Speaker of the Nut House…

OT, but has anyone had trouble reading the two words we have to type to get our comments posted? Sometimes they’re a pain in the arse, just like the lemming troll pukes…

i wonder, will the dems still be calling for impeachment in the middle of january 2009?
let it go! you’ve got nothing to impeach him on. unlike the last president who actually committed a crime and was “impeached” for it.

There, fixed that for ya!

Is that the best you’ve got, Mark?
The word used was “move to impeach,” not “serve articles of impeachment.” What you’re doing is arguing that presidential candidates (on both right and left) are equally crazy for making most of the promises they do.
Huckabee has no authority over stopping taxation (though he may be able to “abolish” the IRS, followed by development of a similar agency to collect taxes, as mandated by law), and Hillary sure as hell can’t hand her health care bills to the Senate president.
The few promises they can actually act on is veto any bill that does so and so and maintaining or pulling troops out of Iraq. But even veto power only goes so far should congress ever actually agree on something.
But as we’ve seen in the past few years, that didn’t stop Bush from trying (and often succeeding) to influence congress in many ways.
Similarly, there are plenty of things Biden can do to further his agenda.
Even Bull made a more insightful comment than you, though failed to mention that Kucinich actually has submitted articles, and providing an argument against these. Better luck next time, Bull- this time you just made some dem’s think people on the right sound dumb.

Geez keefer, I thought it was just me!
There are times I need to roll through the list till I find one I can read.
Maybe it’s set up for the non-visually impaired…or anyone under fifty. Looks like that leaves us out….LOL!
Hey, wasn’t it “Plugs” that introduced a bill to have Iraq cut up into three countries?
9. Kahn | November 30th, 2007 at 9:51 am
I can’t read allot of them either.
10. Kahn | November 30th, 2007 at 10:07 am
we’ve got as much right to call for Bidens impeachment as he does to call for Bush’s. Get it?
Does hatred blind you to humor? I guess it does.

please impeach biden, bush and all the entire congress

I can’t read allot of them either.
I discovered very early on that you can pretty much just type what you think it says, and it works. Sometimes the line running through the words makes it impossible to tell whether a letter is an “e”, an “o” or a “c”, and sometimes letters seem to have pieces missing. Only once so far have I had it kick my comment back with a message that I typed the wrong words. I realize what the purpose of the 2 words is, but it’s still a pain in the ass. On the plus side, comments are posted a whole lot faster than with TypeKey.
I wonder if the American people would have any recourse against Biden if he and his Donk buddies succeed in keeping Bush from doing whatever’s necessary to prevent Iran from getting a nuke, and the result is a mushroom cloud over New York. (well, of course, the people of New York wouldn’t have any recourse.)

lenny, as the say in England: No matter how you vote, the government gets in.

That moniker should be “Plugs the Plagiarist”
15. Joe | November 30th, 2007 at 11:16 am
“Hitlery”
“Big Ears”
“Reid-tard”
“Piglosi”
“Plugs”
What grade are we in again?
Spook, you are right, type in what you think it says and I think you are ok. Some of those are damn near impossible to read. I don’t know if it is case sensitive either, but I assume not.
But I like this better than having to login to the type key thing. There were all kinds of problems with that.

Why doesn’t Biden just do it? Or for that matter, Kucinich, who has also called for impeachment.
Talk is cheap. Bring articles of impeachment to the floor, or STFU!!!!!
And ditto that on the war. Bring legislation to the floor requiring all funding to be cut off on an up or down vote - or STFU!!!

There’s the possibitly of an article 5 convention, we could ammend the constitution and give the president the power to unilatterally bomb anyone he pleases.
Constitutionally attacking foreign countries is up to the congress, but this has been ignored many times in the past, Bill Clinton was very guilty of this. So is our CIA.

Bob, that raises all sorts of interesting possibilities.

Bob,
It is actually an unsettled issue - Congress has the power to declare war, but the Constitution makes the President Commander in Chief, which means he has the legal authority to use the military to attack enemies. The Founders recognised that there will be times when the President needs to act before Congress can deliberate.

Dittohead4Life, Retired Spook,
I don’t even try to figure out some of those words and fragments… I can’t!
If I have trouble reading them, I just hit the little “recycle icon” (get a new challenge) at the top of the red block beside the box where you enter the words. Sometimes, I try 4 or 5 times before I get something I can read.
They don’t call them “challenge words” for nothing!!!

Thing is, the destruction of a major city would through that states vote to the Republicans almost certainly. Most liberals live in cities. And of course, everyone would be mad at Iran and know from experience that all the Dems would do is offer them condoms.

Is this that old croney whose lips say one thing and whose record says he is all for socialism for the rich and popular?
Somehow, the potential for debate on this individuals potential is limited by one thing, reality.
