Hillary Calls Mommy
December 14th, 2007 at 12:05pm Mark Noonan
A new Hillary video from Hillary’s mom…I sense a high level of desperation over at Hillary, Inc.
As an aside, I saw my first 2008 campaign ad yesterday - part of the drawback of Nevada having an early caucus is that we’re going to get ads we normally wouldn’t see until September of next year. It was from Hillary - and in it she promised universal pre-kindergarten, universal health care and an end to the campaign in Iraq.
I’d like to see her magic wand….’cause that is what she’d need. I wonder, though, if Democrats realise just how stupid their “promise the world” message sounds?

Mark wonders “I wonder, though, if Democrats realise just how stupid their “promise the world” message sounds?”
I suggest that Real Democrats DO realize this but it is exactly what the Uber-Left wants to hear.
There are sooo many problems with this ad, from the immaturity of having Mommy rush in to tell the world that her baby girl is not nearly as nasty as everyone seems to think to the childishness of the actual script to the lack of focus—-the appeal of Mommy regarding Hillary’s ‘niceness’ has to be to the moderate middle-of-the-road Dems who are very skeptical of her and her personality and her character and her history, yet the wild Big Rock Candy Mountain promises are for the radical Left.
One size does NOT fit all.
I heard the audio of the ad, and it was an embarassment. The Mommy part sounded like what I would expect from a junior high campaign for hall monitor, and the rest was just typical pie in the sky sock it to the “rich” cant.
We don’t have to wonder how Hillary’s campaign is going—she is telling us.

Ya know, I disagree with Obama on policy and philosophy, but at least he appears to be largely honest.
I know he has some hint of real estate scandal. And I know he hasn’t gone deep on many subjects, so we don’t really know all his positions.
But he never suddenly “found” records that had been subpoena for years. He never had the FBI deliver the files on hundreds of Republicans and keep them for two months. And he actually does seem to have one position on the issues he’s willing to talk about.
If I was Democrat (BIG if), I think Obama would be my candidate. he seems to be a genuine liberal. If you believe in your cause, then stand up for it and vote for it.
Now, if I could just decide which Republican I like.

This site should really be called “Blogs against Hillary” You guys certainly post enough about her.
Anyway… as a Dem, Hillary is about 5th on my list of who I would vote for in a Primary. So her calling for mommy isn’t much concern for me. Of course, the only Repub that comes close to me considering in a general is McCain.
Anyway, this is supposed to be “Blogs for Victory”. How about trying to get your own house in order. There are two ways for your “Victory”. Win on issues or knock your opponent down. It sure looks like you prefer the latter of the two.

Joe,
Thanks for you thoughtful and helpful post. We’ll be sure to give it due consideration.
What do you like about McCain?
5. Joe | December 14th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
McCain is the least wacked out of the list of wackos.
Seriously, I think he is the only one with any integrity left (of course that has seriously been on the downturn). I liked him in 2000 when he actually spoke his mind regardless of what his party wanted. Now he has done a big flip and started falling into the party line. So that is why I put him behind most of the Dems.
If this was the McCain of 2000, I’d put him maybe 3rd or 4th overall (both parties combined).
Richardson has my vote in the primary. Obama would be second.

Before eveyone jumps down my throat… I didn’t mean that to sound that Dems don’t fall into party line, just that McCaim spoke out so much against his party, now he is falling in line.
7. Kahn | December 14th, 2007 at 1:13 pm
Joe, can you please explain how attacking the rest of the Republicans explains what you like about McCain? Please, refer to your own post above for guidance.
You finish by saying you don’t even like him anymore.
Please - use your enormous liberal brain (someone with head as big as yours must have big brain) and explain it to us. All you have expressed is disdain and dislike.
Tell what you like, what you’re for. because the hatred theme isn’t getting it done.

Joe,
Billary needs no help in being taken down. She is self destructing as did Screaming Howard and Fake War Hero Francois. I just wish Billary would wait until she is the nominee. Hussein should be easy too. Being an empty suit and all.

Joe:
So, how do you explain the fact that Democrats have spent more time and energy attack Bush and the Republicans than promoting their own agenda and issues? Last year, Democrats made the elections about voting Republicans out, not voting Democrats in.
And don’t get me started about liberal blogs and the content you’ll find on those. I’ve seen more liberal blogs that appear to exist only for the purpose of attack Bush, Republicans, or conservative blogs.
If we decided to naive and not criticize our opponents and enemies when necessary, then we’d be taking beating after beating, because Democrats know not how to defend or promote their positions, but how to attack, attack, attack.
It be nice to believe that both sides could simply state their views and be judged on those alone, but the reality is part of campaigning is criticizing your opponents.

SEW,
So you really hated Howard Dean for why? Because he screamed? That isn’t much of a reason.
Kahn,
you are correct, I should attack like that, so let me try this.
I am from MASS, I REALLY do not like Romney. I think he goes whichever way the wind is blowing (which isn’t much different from what Hillary does, it is just that Mitt ol’ boy is blatantly obvious that he will do whatever it takes to win the Presidency).
Giuliani brings nothing to the table other than he was Mayor of NYC on 9/11. He did well while everyone was grieving. He didn’t do anything after that. What qualifications does he really have?
Thomson is just too lazy. I can’t see that guy as President. He just doesn’t do much for me. Just because he played one on TV doesn’t make him worthy.
Huck isn’t so bad. I don’t know a lot about him yet, but it does seem like he brings up his religion about as often as Giuliani brings up 9/11. Not that it is bad, but enough. Tell me what you are going to do with the country. In due respect, I really need to learn more about him before I can speak too much on him.
Was that better?
11. Joe | December 14th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
that should have said… I “SHOULDN’T” attack like that.
12. TiredofLibBullShit | December 14th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
“I’ve got a million ideas, and America can’t afford them.”
’nuff said.
13. Joe | December 14th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Matt,
Excellent point. I don’t like the negative adds either. HOWEVER…
There is a distinct difference in pointing out that the Republican votes, bills and non-oversight versus bringing up things like…
“Hillary Calls Mommy” and
“Did Hillary Inhale” and
“Shaheen out as Clinton Advisor” and
“Hillary ‘Handled’ the Hostage Situation” and
“Wheels coming off the Hillary Express” and
“Hillary knowingly seeks Illegal Contributions” and on and on and on.
I like that there are now these tags to look back at older posts.
14. Joe | December 14th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Oh… I left one out. The “joke” posted by Mr. Noonan on December 13th, 2007 at 02:36am
Again, it is really looking like “Blogs against Hillary”.
I’m not complaining… like I said, she is far down my list. I’d like to see her lose so my guy can get the nomination.
15. Mark Noonan | December 14th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Joe,
We’ve done 200 posts on this blog since we switched over to Blogs for Victory. Five have been about Hillary. 2.5% of the posts, that is - and given that she is the front runner for the Democratic nomination, I don’t think that is excessive. We’ve also had five posts on Romney (in this, of course, I mean posts primarily or exclusively devoted to the person). Six on Huckabee. One on Giuliani. One on Thompson. None on Edwards. Three on Obama.
Methinks you’re exaggerating.
16. Joe | December 14th, 2007 at 4:07 pm
Mark,
Not a problem. Again, I’m not complaining. Maybe it is just been a few in the last few days that makes it seem like a lot.
17. NeoClown | December 14th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
Joe,
It ain’t nothing personal against Hillary. We just want ya’ll to nominate Obama.
We know we can beat a black man (you should see what we did to Harold Ford in Tennessee.)
All it took was one commercial with a pretty white woman asking Harold Ford to give her a call, and bam, his poll numbers were in the basement. Sly ain’t we?
18. Joe | December 14th, 2007 at 6:08 pm
NeoClown,
You don’t even deserve a response for that. You are a jackass.
19. phnx | December 14th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
Joe,
Don’t be fooled, your guy Richardson is a stalking horse for Hillary, he was, is and always will be a Clintonista. He wants to be her VP.
20. Kahn | December 14th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
Well, I came to a decision tonight. Huckabee.
21. phnx | December 15th, 2007 at 9:44 am
Kahn,
On what did you base your decision?
