Presidential Timbre? Ramblings of a Senile Old Man/Leftwing Thinking = Same/Same

A new voting bloc for democrats?

Just waiting in the wings…

Translation from here, via Brussels Journal:

American presidential elections are not “home affairs.” American decisions have repercussions all over the globe. The American mortgage crisis affects banks in Europe. The insatiable American demand for oil makes the Arabian sheiks rich. The American refusal to care for the environment causes the North Pole ice to melt and coastal areas in Asia to flood. A weakened dollar and an immense budget deficit affect the global economy.

Hence, the world should be given the right to vote. Because the current situation is a blatant case of taxation without representation, against which the Americans rebelled in 1776. But of course the world will not be allowed to vote. The best we can hope for is that the Americans choose a leader who is deeply aware of the U.S.’s responsibility, as a superpower, for the rest of mankind.

The international community was able to limit America’s hegemony somewhat through organisations for international consultation, agreements and the corresponding judicial apparatus. But that system is in crisis, partly through the actions of the current American president.

So liberal Europeans are demanding the right to vote in U.S. elections.

Well, democrats have had proven track records with dead voters and illegal immigrants, so why not let the Europeans have their say as well?

Perhaps the democrats should hold their next debate in Amsterdam.

There were similar articles that came out just before the last election. Personally I would be happy to extend the vote to the citizens of any country that are willing to replace their government and laws with our government and our laws. Of course they would also have to pass the same citizen tests that naturalized Americans have to take.

I just heard the DNC wants to pass a bill allowing people to let their pets vote.

ah Leo - you are such a liar:

    (1) the link about dead voters doesn’t state anything about who the “dead voters” were voting for and certainly nothing about it being affiliated with the democratic party

    (2) the link to the “illegal immigrant vote” clearly states in the first sentence that the person is advocating for LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENTS to vote - not illegals

    (3) in no where above to they “DEMAND THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN THE US” - all they say is that it would be nice to but even in the exact quote above
“But of course the world will not be allowed to vote. The best we can hope for is that the Americans choose a leader who is deeply aware of the U.S.’s responsibility, as a superpower, for the rest of mankind.”

don’t you have problems sleeping when you are such a disingenuous liar. For the love of god…

“So liberal Europeans are demanding the right to vote in U.S. elections.”

No I think it’s a commentary on psychopathic airhead conservatives. And how these uneducated, naive, selfish, paranoid psychopathic personalities are ruining the world.

    Let’s Make A Deal

There are some in Europe and in other places that have this idiotic view that they should have some say in our Presidential election.. This isn’t a new idea. It was raised during the last Presidential election by some British

World War I, World War II, The Berlin Air Lift, and many other efforts by the United States to save the backsides of these “sophisticated” Europeans shows that they need us to protect them like the children they are. As such, they should have no right to vote any more than children have a right to vote on the rules set down by their parents.

Considering the huge increase in CO2 (which is a greenhouse gas no matter which country produces it) output by China in recent years, how about also demanding that the world can vote in Chinese elections?

Oh wait, China is a one-party state and thus doesn’t have real elections.

    Never mind!

    Hey “USA”

uneducated? Extensive technical training and I have a BA in Strategic Management - Magna Cum Laude. Published author in my field (computer networks and storage).

naive? Marine Corps. Been on all but one continent (Antarctica). Lived in Japan while in the military and in Germany as a civilian working at DEBIS for over two years. Married 27 years, 3 kids. 1st is an Eagle, 2nd who’s 14 almost has his.
I donate money to multiple charities. Donate time to the church. And, I’m a Scout leader. Third time through. I am Den leader for 16 2nd graders.

Meanwhile, your Congressmen, senators, and national leaders are some of the richest people in the country. Their wealth far out strips Republican wealth. Hillary owned Wal-Mart stock and was on the board of directors. Gore owns oil stock. It goes on and on an on. Look how the “liberal” media companies are treating a union at this very moment.

Your party subjugated blacks for generations and when that system failed due to an alliance of Republicans and northern Democrats an extremely cynical Texan named LBJ came up with the idea of addicting them to government handouts. Talk about selfish?

  • 15. Casper  |  January 6th, 2008 at 3:56 pm

“I am Den leader for 16 2nd graders.”

Wow Kahn, you are a lot braver than I thought.

“Hence, the world should be given the right to vote.”

Well, if we extend that logic, then shouldn’t americans be given the right to vote in those other countries elections too.

The consequences of Frances actions in the lead up to the second gulf war were global in scope - The french policy of general appeasement towards Iraq and Saddam certainly contributed towards Saddams ability to defy the UN resolutions.

Shouldnt Americans be allowed to vote in French elections by virtue of Frances impact on the lives of our soldiers and the amount of american resources required to finally invade Iraq?

Casper, it does get wild. The key is to have interesting stuff for them to see or do.

We visited the U.S. Capital just before the holidays. One of the parents is a Capital Police Officer, and we got a great tour. Got to park inside the grounds.

My oldest two were ushers at President Ford’s funeral. The northern Virginia/DC area is a great place for Scouts. Though actually, most places have something to offer…

Liberal T — google “democrat” + “voter fraud”.

Tell me if I’m a liar.

As far as the former, the complaint was filed by Republicans, whose candidate lost in a very narrow vote. Why would Republicans report their own voter fraud?

Also, as far as illegal aliens being allowed to vote, see here. or even the New York Times.

If you want to call me a liar, get your own facts straight, first.

Plainjane… I just report on the loons. Your side supplies all the fodder I need.

    Leo,
I have to say you definitely have the craziest posts of all the posts I’ve read on this site. Whenever I think you can’t get any goofier, you go ahead and prove me wrong.
    Well done yet again.

  • 20. Casper  |  January 6th, 2008 at 8:24 pm

    Kahn,
We disagree on many things, but I do respect you. When I first began my teaching career, second grade would have been my first choice to teach. didn’t work out, but I still love the age. Now I have no desire to leave my middle school kids.

That said, just to stay on topic, would you be in favor of other countries voting if there citizens became American citizens first?

  • 21. Huck Fillary  |  January 7th, 2008 at 4:51 am

    Looney alert; a Leo post.

    Bovine alert–a plaindumbcowjane post.

plaincow, never separate incomplete sentences with a semi-colon. Didn’t you learn that in school, at the Branch Bovinian compound?

  • 22. Web Smith  |  January 7th, 2008 at 6:46 pm

Here is a fun link where the world is allowed to vote for the President. You can put your vote in and see what other countries think.

    http://www.whowouldtheworldelect.com/

It is well known that many European and Asian countries pollute far more than the U.S.
