You Can be a Christian, If You Just Keep Quiet About It How Ironic

Nobody Expects the Canadian Inquisition!

January 14th, 2008 at 08:27am Mark Noonan

With a bow to Monty Python.

More seriously, the PC-fascists of Canada are seemingly on a rampage these days going after free men and women of Canada at the behest of Islamo-fascists who claim that Mohammed is offended by this or that word or action. Click here to see a video of Ezra Levant, publisher of The Western Standard, telling a government pinhead where she can go with her inquisition.

And, lefties, if you ever see President Bush or any agent of our government doing this sort of thing, that would be an indicator that someone is trying to take your rights away.

The gentlemans quote: “Whatever offends you, I have that right”

Beautiful. No one has the right not to be offended. In fact, just that claim is offensive to many.

And am I the only one who imagined that woman being Diana Powe? Here comes the thought police.

Sorry Mark, I don’t really follow what the big deal is about this one itty bitty little excerpt you’ve pulled out as a blanket example of an inquisition in Canada. And the use of the term Fascist? I mean c’mon, the current CONSERVATIVE party of Canada is in power right now, our current PM, Stephen Harper is a big supporter of the current U.S. government policies…he and his government are facsists?….I don’t think so.

  • 3. Kahn  |  January 14th, 2008 at 10:13 am

dual - how many guns you own these days?

  • 4. Eric T  |  January 14th, 2008 at 10:13 am

    Dual citzen

The conservative government in Canada should try to take steps to restore freedom, gun rights and try to put an end to the political correctness. before it gets worse. Repeal C 250!!!!
People from the U.S would be able to move to Canada if we get the liberals in power here.

Our liberals here are running on nothing but political correctness, high taxes, and gun bans.
Nothing of any substance, yet they have the abilty to brainwash the youths here with media, so they have a good chance of being in control of all three Houses.

  • 5. dual_citzen  |  January 14th, 2008 at 10:52 am

Kahn - none, I don’t see the need to own one.

Eric - Harper is taking the right steps to foster the level of confidence he’ll need to take a majority when the time comes, I say perhaps even as early as the Spring/Fall of this year we might see another federal election. BTW: That’s a pretty silly comment to say, “restore freedom….” like we’re living in some facsist state up here in Canada!

  • 6. AAR  |  January 14th, 2008 at 11:08 am

    dual,

I don’t see the need to own one.

No, of course you don’t. You’d willingly give up your freedoms and rights without a fight — even voting to give yours away, while at the same time, taking those of others!!!

But, that’s what Democracy, Liberals, and Democrats are all about… carving out various smaller groups so you can out-vote them and make yourself feel “good” as you take their rights and freedoms… and impose your will and agenda on others!!!

The Publisher is right. Of course, it is also the job of the government to investigate a complaint. I believe the government was searching for a hate crime, which is illegal, but clearly that was not the intent of the Publisher.

    Eric T,
didn’t we go thru this before with the “liberals are banning guns” idea? You pulled up a House Resolution raised by Democrats and I proved to you that the NRA actually backed it and it did the complete opposite of banning guns.

    H.R. 2640
    http://www.nraila.org/Issues/FactSheets/Read.aspx?id=219&issue=018

Some pro-gun groups have claimed that H.R. 2640 would “prohibit” thousands of people from owning guns. This is not true; these bills would only enforce current prohibitions. In fact, H.R. 2640 would allow some people now unfairly prohibited from owning guns to have their rights restored, and to have their names removed from the instant check system.

The following are the key provisions of H.R. 2640, introduced by Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.), Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), Lamar Smith (R-Tex.) and Rick Boucher (D-Va.), which passed the House of Representatives by a voice vote on June 13, 2007.

So enough with the “Dems want to take your guns away” bull.

Dual, nice. How many could you own if you wanted to?

  • 10. dual_citzen  |  January 14th, 2008 at 1:25 pm

AAR - really (your posturing is just plain silly), you don’t even know me but becuase I don’t own a gun I must be willing to give up my freedoms (BTW: I’m vote pround Conservative - in Canada of course)

Khan - if you’d like to learn more about the firearms act in Canada check out: http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/factsheets/owner_e.asp. I maintain my licence so that I can get out to the local gun club every once in while, get nostalgic about my days back in the infantry and pop off a couple of rounds.

  • 11. dual_citzen  |  January 14th, 2008 at 1:27 pm

correction above: “BTW: I’M A PROUD Conservative - in Canada of course’

    really made sense before…eh?

    Joe your pal Obama’s state

Cook County is currently considering two anti-gun proposals that must be defeated!

The first, which is called the “Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance”, claims to simply require the registration of all firearms and firearm owners in Cook County. As written, however, it is an outright ban of all firearms and ammunition. Even if you do not live in Cook County, this proposal will have a dramatic impact on you due to new restrictions on transporting firearms!

The second proposed ordinance would amend the county’s “Deadly Weapon Dealers Ordinance.” It seeks to completely ban all gun shows within the county, and prohibits federally licensed dealers from operating within 10 miles of another federally licensed dealer. This will not only prohibit new gun stores, but could wipe out most existing ones.

Joe democrats hate freedom without Richardson you gotta make the switch unless your hobby is watching t.v or dancing, or football. If you like guns and hunting and shooting. Your screwed, even some of these republicans can’t get in touch with that inner-Reagan that lives in all of us, will try and take peoples guns. I won’t upset you all and point em out.

joe take a look at Hillary’s state

NEW YORK: New York Assembly Wasting No Time in Proposing Anti-Gun Legislation This session there have been numerous bills filed to tear away at the gun rights of New Yorkers. Bills range from expanded bans on so-called assault weapons to banning types of ammunition. The Environmental Commission is also fighting to take away the rights of hunters in the state by banning conventional ammunition and replacing it with “green ammunition.” Please call you legislature at 815-455-4100 and urge them to oppose bills A7331, A3451, A2772, A829, A76, A6525, A3447, A6052, and A9543.

  • 15. Eric T  |  January 14th, 2008 at 2:12 pm

    joe

I can almost understand liberal states that you would not want to move to, having laws like that, but what happens when libs start moving into real states.

  • 16. dual_citzen  |  January 14th, 2008 at 2:15 pm

Khan - sorry about that, does this one work:

  • 17. AAR  |  January 14th, 2008 at 2:22 pm

    dual,

Most (but not all) of the Canadians who stop by this blog to “leave a deposit” are clearly Liberals, here purely for propaganda purposes. I watch your posts and see just how Conservative you really are.

Being a “Conservative”, I would expect you to support the right of others to own and carry guns, even if you choose not to do so, right?

  • 18. Kahn  |  January 14th, 2008 at 3:13 pm

The link was OK. So, restrictions but not illegal?

  • 19. Joe  |  January 14th, 2008 at 5:01 pm

    EricT,
I can’t speak much to those and to be honest I don’t have the time or desire to look into those two states. I can say that in what you’ve written, there isn’t anything there that says Dems voted one way or Repubs voted another and were completely against it.
If I have any time, I’ll see if I can read up and have an opinion one way or the other.

Ezra is the lefty in this story. He is being applauded by Dailykos for speaking against the government for censorship.

The first thing Stalin and Hitler took away from the populace were guns, the second was religion. Of course dems have been trying for decades to take away our guns and we all know their vicious hatred of all religions (except Islam of course)

Oh dear, it appears I’m going to have to leaf through my Goddard’s New and Extended Thesaurus of Nazi Similes, Metaphores, Allegories, and Analogies again.

Jeez, and it’s just January! This is going to be a long year.

I’m a Canadian. I voted Social Credit in BC and I voted for Joe Clark, Mulroney (twice) and Kim Campbell.

I live in the USA now.

    Thank goodness for that.

  • 24. Mark Noonan  |  January 15th, 2008 at 12:30 am

    Ricorun,

But it is a bit disturbing - having a publisher haled before a Star Chamber hearing because of something printed in a magazine…I mean, I don’t think even the most nauseating of porn gets this sort of scrutiny, right?

And without guns, we can’t be sure of stopping any domestic Nazis or Nazi-like groups from taking over…so, yes, the Nazi references do get over used, but the price of liberty is eternal vigilence…

  • 25. js  |  January 15th, 2008 at 8:00 am

For these kinds of charges to be considered “constitutional”, the value must be conscienciously applied by the Government office proactively.

Simply put, statements in the Koran are cause for these same base procedings because of thier accusations, and because they call for the killing of non muslims. That, in its own right, is a hate crime that far outweighs any potential insults delivered by publishing cartoons of Mohammad.

“I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform all that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah.” (Bukhari: volume 1, book 2, number 24, Khan)

Thats religious discrimination, and is the seat and root cause of wars and genocides throughout the past 1.5 thousand years. It is neither compatible with the US, Canadian, or most Western Constitutions guaranteeing freedom of religion, but instead, in direct contrast with them all.

  • 26. dual_citzen  |  January 15th, 2008 at 9:25 am

Khan - no, it is not illegal to own a gun. Now of course it’s a little more complicated than that, you can only own certain types of guns, ammunition, etc. But it isn’t illegal

AAR - I don’t really know if, just becuase you’re a Conservative, your opinon on gun rights are so black and white. That being said the American side of me says yes, I would uphold the ‘right to bear arms’, and when in the U.S.A. that’s the side I take on that argument. However it’s different in Canada, the whole ‘right to bear arms’ is very American, born out violent rebellion against colonial masters. This of course is not the case in Canada, and in Canada I like what we aredoing…..it’s not illegal to own if you are a law-abiding citzen.

Canada: Freedom of Speech succumbing to Kangaroo Courts of the Human Rights Commission

Proceedings against Ezra Levant are nothing short of ridiculous, but let’s consider the implications for moderate Muslims. This “investigation” will further divide Muslims and non-Muslims in Canada. It will give credence to radicals’ claims that the West is at war with Islam. It will antagonize non-Muslims and moderate Muslims will be pushed towards radicalization. Regardless of the outcome, once again Islamists skillfully manipulated Dhimmi justice system and came out as clear winners. Thank you, Human Right Commission!

Muslims Against Sharia are proud to be the first Muslim group to publicly support Ezra Levant and denounce HRC inquisition
