The Clintons On Camera with Tony Rezko
January 26th, 2008 at 12:23pm Matt Margolis
Drudge has the photo…
So, is this important?
No, not at all. When a similar photo of President Bush with Jack Abramoff appeared, the left made it out to be proof of some significant relationship, when the truth was that it was a picture commonly taken with President Bush and people who raised a lot of money for his campaign. I imagine the photo linked above was taken under similar circumstances, and they probably have no personal recollection of meeting Rezko specifically.
Now, Barack Obama would be silly to jump on this, because a photo-op that was taken at the same time probably hundreds were taken at a single event isn’t nearly as significant as Obama’s longterm relationship with Tony Rezko.
UPDATE: Liberal watchdog group CREW, which released the aforementioned Bush/Abramoff photo, claimed at the time that the existence of the photo “proved” that a relationship between Bush and Abramoff existed. Yet, as of now, there’s nothing on their website claiming a relationship between Rezko and the Clintons ever existed.
UPDATE: The Chicago Tribune notes, correctly, that the photo of the Clintons and Rezko is meaningless, and that Rezko is “Obama’s problem.”

Will the MSM give this photo as much press coverage as the “similar” photo with Bush and Abramoff?
Hell no.

Nobody cares.

Well this just shows how much of a rookie Obama is. This photo obviously comes from the Obama camp, but all it does is give the Rezko-Obama connection more legs by keeping the name in the news. At this point, I cant wait to run against Hillary or Obama.

Rich, I guess. These pictures are pretty standard. Just like the Bush-Abramoff picture, it doesn’t mean much.

It was smart of Obama to get that picture out there. After all it was Hillary supporters that jumped all over the Abramoff photo, democrats really aren’t as smart as Republicans (I’m surprised you haven’t noticed that yet), to them the photo could be proof of nefarious actions.

I know these pictures don’t mean much and you know these pictures dont mean much, but after all the furor over the Abramoff-Bush picture and the Saddam-Rumsfield picture, the Clintons have to be careful with this. The bottom line is having a picture taken with the guy is nothing compared to having a well documented 17 year history with the guy. I’ll say it again, Obama’s camp was dumb for keeping this in the news cycle.

Nobody cares.
You’re “nobody;” therfore, you don’t care. If you don’t care, then why even comment? We don’t care that you don’t; however, we want to see the drive-by media give this as much attention as they did Bush/Abramoff. They won’t…

Doug… the only problem with your argument is that liberals seem to have selective outrage. It is completely possible for them to believe the Bush/Abramoff and Rumsfeld/Saddam pictures are indicative of nefarious activities on the parts of those people, and at the same time believe that the Clinton/Rezko picture means nothing.

Tired…there is no picture like that with Bush and Abramoff. The only one that we all saw was of Abramoff 10 feet away. And ine more thing, kid Bush isnt on the ballot this year.

If this was leaked by Obama, I don’t think it was a bad idea. An overwhelming majority of the electorate do not go to politcal blogs or even read anything past a headline or caption under a picture when it comes to politics. Those people will know who Rezko is but not what his relationship is with Obama, just that he is tainted and Obama has some of that taint. Seeing the picture with Rezko and Clinton now taints her to those people who do not read blogs like this etc…
It seems a wash to most people I would suggest. People who pay attention think either Obama is dirty or that it is a whole lot of nothing.

I wouldn’t blame Obama at all if he released this. He is up against two of the most callous, heartless campaigners ever who will stop at nothing to achieve power.
Obama is someone to keep an eye on for Democrats. He is intelligent, articulates issues well, and commands presence. Unfortunately, he is just too inexperienced for ‘08, and so is Clinton. Hard to believe that the Democrats have pinned their hopes on two of the most unqualified people within their ranks.

What happened to the pants? For once I agree with sleepygene.
“Those people will know who Rezko is but not what his relationship is with Obama, just that he is tainted and Obama has some of that taint. Seeing the picture with Rezko and Clinton now taints her to those people who do not read blogs like this etc…”
And here is what James Carville has said.
“Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.”
“The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.”
“Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”
All quotes by James Carville

SEW,
Yep. And James Carville demonstrates just how dangerous the left-wing really is. His definitions of Democrat agenda are correct. There is no truth, only that which they objectify as their own, what they deem it. If this weren’t the case, then Bill and Hillary would have been in prison long ago.
Another reason why no Democrat should be President!
