Wow: Bill Clinton’s Ex-Campaign Manager Backs Obama
February 13th, 2008 at 11:58am Matt Margolis
Wow.
An aide to Barack Obama says the man who led former President Clinton’s 1992 bid plans to endorse the Illinois senator.
Obama’s campaign plans a 1 p.m. conference call Wednesday to announce the endorsement by David Wilhelm, who later became chairman of the Democratic National Committee. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement would be made public later in the day.
Wilhelm plans to tell reporters that Obama can build a coalition of Democrats, independents and Republicans needed to win the general election. He also says Obama can bring the change he promises—improving the economy and ending the war in Iraq.
Wilhelm is a superdelegate from Illinois who was previously uncommitted in the race.
That’s quite embarrassing for Hillary.

I believe hillary needs to quit so that President Obama will be ready for whomever the Republicans choose as their candidate in September.

I agree. I also think if Edwards and Gore decide to support Obama she won’t have much of a choice but to withdrawal. Regardless of the candidate, with bush’s approval ratings where they are I find it very hard to believe there will be a republican president come November.

Obama may win the Democratic nomination, but he’ll never be elected president.

One man’s opinion… I guess we’ll have to wait until next year to find out. But personally, anything short of a complete victory in Iraq or maybe finding Osama Bin Laden between now and then, I’d have to disagree with you there Matt.

Matt,
Why do you say he will “never be elected president”?

Let’s hope you are right, ASR, and that the American people are intelligent enough to correct their past mistakes. No doubt, the majority are deeply sorry they brought the current administration to power.
It appears that Obama has captured the imagination of the voters. The U.S. could do a lot worse; and it has.

“It appears that Obama has captured the imagination of the voters.”
He has in such an unbelievable way even Matt has acknowledge it in a previous article. Heres to hoping Obama can back what he’s selling. Regardless, I’d trade Harper for Obama any day of the week.

Different country, different political policies and different voting process,
but it does seem to be a less complicated system as we get to know who the winner is without going to court.
As far a Harper being a better leader than Obama, I’m reserving my opinion until I see Obama in action, as President.

I am familiar with both political policies and process though for my money, the one in the US is designed to confuse you. Also, Canada is more Socialist than the US specifically with regard to healthcare and various social securities. But all in all what affects the US affects Canada and Vice Versa.
Personally I am not a fan of Harper though this could be partly due to the fact he holds a minority government.
Back on Topic, Obama in action maybe a sight indeed. I’m still not sure about McCain though he is having a tough time gaining support from Evangelicals which says something in itself.

Obama has no message except change and hope. Platitudes.
Maybe he’ll ask Fuss Reingold to be his running mate–two dummies on one ticket…
