The Democrats’ Valentine to the American People… Military Tribunals For Terrorists? Obama says “No.”

Should McCain Resign His Senate Seat…

February 14th, 2008 at 08:35pm Matt Margolis

to focus on his presidential bid?

Sure. Right after Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama resign.

Seriously though, I find it interesting that speculation surrounds McCain, but not Hillary or Obama. While one could argue the nominee hasn’t be determined yet, you can bet that the media won’t be speculating about either of them resigning from the Senate once winning the nomination.

Slightly off topic, delete if you must - wasn’t sure how to draw your attention to it

There’s the full transcript of an interview broadcast on the BBC with President Bush interviewed by the BBC’s World News America correspondent Matt Frei.

The interview makes interesting reading, and can be read at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7245670.stm

It’s not like it would get him anything. The press badgered Cheney into walking away fro $1 Billion in Halliburton options. Look how much good will that got him?

I wonder if it should be some kind of requirement that any senator or whatever running for president should have to resign? Not so much so they can “focus on the race”, but because they can’t campaign AND do the job they were elected to do. And given a choice between the two, we know which they’ll pick.

Since that isn’t the rule though, no, McCain shouldn’t resign unless/until the other two do as well.

As I understand it, the rumor is that McCain is thinking about retiring from the Senate, not that he’s being advised or pressured to. And according to the McCain campaign, the rumor is false.

Only if Senators Hillary and Obama resign as well. I agree with Adrian. The people from thier states sent them to office to repersent their state, not to ignore them and run for another office.
