Being a Catholic doesn’t have much influence on my choice of candidates other than abortion and other moral tolerance issues like pornography, and such. But I restrict my concerns to the real world not the imaginary world portrayed on movie screens. I prefer to allow the market to work its magic there, like it just did in the latest lie-filled anti-war movie “Stop Loss.” Hollywood thrives on greed and always has. And greed is just a lust for money, which is capitalism in its rawest form. Hollywood has the right to make any movie it wants to make and we have the right to avoid it like the plague. Those hundred million dollar flops cannot be absorbed forever and their ways will change based on economic realities. All you have to do is look at the blockbusters of the past few years to see that good movies usually reap the benefits while lousy ones do not.
But being a Catholic, I cannot imagine many of my faith voting for Obama or Hillary with their all-out stance on abortion on demand. They even support partial birth abortions. That would be enough for most of us to choose McCain over them. And watching videos of leftists barging in on Easter services and squirting fake blood on the parishioners should be clear enough evidence of where the left and its candidates are willing to go.
