“But Hillary Rodham Clinton and especially Barack Obama have distilled McCain’s position into sound bite oversimplifications, suggesting he foresees a war without end in anyone’s lifetime.”
Oversimplifications, much needed for the liberal fools that blindly follow these two candidates. We are seeing more evidence of ANYBODY BUT BUSH, but Bush is not running. Now, they need to criticize a man, who was always praised by the left for being an opponent of Bush, and make him appear to be another version of Bush.
The only way they can accomplish this is through simple ads and soundbites, commercials with scantly clad women and other such simple minded nonsense.
Well, when you are desperate, anything goes, including blatant lies and massive distortions.

PO, I’m just curious, what would you call the Wright Clips on youtube? How about the implication that Obama is anti-american, a Muslim who belongs to a Racist Christian church. Hilary and Obama planning on taking your guns away or Making the US a Socialist state. Universal Healthcare… Need I go on.
Both sides do this, but I must say I really do find it funny that you are complaining about something you (Neo-Conservatives) perpetuate on a daily basis. I’m willing to bet that later today or tomorrow at the latest there will be another distortion or miss-representation of something which Obama or Hilary say. I challange you to keep in mind your post on this thread when you reply.

Wright is a legit issue. Obama’s fame is not in what he has done, but what he denies at this point. Can anyone even doubt that you could spend 20 years in the US Air Force and “NOT” know perfectly well that it was a tool of war? Yet, liberals dispute that Obama didnt know what kind of racist supremacy ideology was going in the church he goes to, and his wife goes to, and that they send thier children too?
Claiming to be Christian and being Christian are two different things, as is denouncing islam and endorsing it at the same time. Obama’s father came from Kenya, and his family in Kenya are muslim. The same family that ran in Kenya’s election on the basis of installing sharia in Kenya, and attempted to instigate a coop over the rightly elected rerpresentatives of that nation. Obama endorsed his cousin in Kenya, literally endorsing sharia in Kenya. Nobody can be confused about this, these facts are 100% true.
So what challenge is there? None. Add everything else about forcing people to pay for health insurance, taking our right to bear arms away, and promoting abortion on demand, and you find that Obama is no Christian at all, but only wolf in sheeps clothing.
Could Obama flip flop on Christians, and revert to the religion of his youth? Absolutely. Muslims welcome these apostates with open arms. If he doesnt, he is and will continue to be a legitimate target under sharia for execution. From what I understand, the fatwa was stayed until after the election.

You defend Matt’s assertions that Obama is mis-representing and distorting McCain’s campaign by doing the exact same thing with regards to Obama’s campaign. Crying Foul while perpetuating the violation. Thank you for proving my point.

The video clips on youtube has Wright speaking for himself. These clips were taken from his very own sermons sold on video. No interpretation by McCain or those that campaign for McCain is needed. No distortions are needed or presented. Wright speaks for himself. Legitimate questions have been asked just as they would be asked from Democrats if the roles were reversed.
Both Hillary and Obama have put their spin on what McCain said. You are trying to compare apples and oranges.
Obama and Clinton have both attacked individuality, profits and call for nanny state government. Their record speaks for itself - no need for spin or distortions. Again, their records speak for itself.
As far as questioning Obama’s patriotism, America has the right to know why he does what he does and he has not adequately explained them.
No one is perpetuating the violation, as you claim, you just can’t stand the fact that your candidates aren’t as pure as you were led to believe.

“These clips were taken from his very own sermons sold on video. No interpretation by McCain or those that campaign for McCain is needed. No distortions are needed or presented.”
Wasn’t a person in the McCain campaign fired for compiling the youtube video. And you said it yourself in your post ‘WRIGHT SPEAKS FOR HIMSELF’… Not Obama. So to say Obama is a racist or is going to further a racist church because of this man’s words is mis-representing and distorting.
Again it’s funny that you only take notice now that it’s being applied to McCain. Sure does suck when things McCain say are taken out of context hey….
P.S. Putting together different clips to make a point is mis-representing and distorting ones opinions and speeches FYI.

McCain believes and wants everything Pastor Hagee wants. See how dishonest that is?

“So to say Obama is a racist or is going to further a racist church because of this man’s words is mis-representing and distorting”
nice try
it would be different if
1- wright was not the paster who also baptised obama and married and was invited to represent trinity when obama announced his run for POTUS
and
2- obama denied knowledge of its (racism) existence, even though he acknowled it in his own autobiography….
so, truth, it does matter, bama’s characture is one of rot, he is blatant and unrepentant about it, and as far as anything goes, denying that racism exists just doesnt cut it based on the weight of the tapes that were sold at the church to take home to view by anyone who would pay for them
hagee isnt even in the race, mccain was not a member of his church either way, so, apples and oranges agian…

That’s a winner! You should trademark that line for use during the McCain campaign. Heh. Heh.

MUCH NEEDED ASSEMBLY REQUIRED,
I never said Obama was a racist. But, associating with a racist for 20 years, calling him his mentor, etc. etc., would in the eyes of the left be a cause for concern and would demand answers from non-left candidates.
I am holding Obama to the same standards set by liberals for non-liberal candidates. These are serious concerns about a man who claims he would be able to unite the country. However, for 20 years, he attended a divisive church, headed by a divisive pastor.
Serious questions need answers and Obama’s limited and conflicting responses aren’t getting the job done.
It is funny that Romney’s church is highly questionable but Obama’s is not.
It is amazing how you libs are so readily to dismiss anything about their candidate but put others under a microscope.

Ok, lets sum up the talking points…
Obama’s Pastor (20 years… I said I said 20 years!)
Belongs to a Racist Christian Church
Loves Kenyans (More than Americans)
Loves African’s (More than Americans)
Closet Muslim
Secret Jihadist
Socialist
The Race Candidate
Lied about hearing racial Comments
Supported by the evil Anti-American Jane Fonda
Wants everyone to be able to receive healthcare
He’s black trying to be white.. or less black… or white… er what was it Limbaugh said again…
Inspiring speaker and motivator like Hitler
Empty Suit
Corrupt because Illinois and Rezko is…
Distortions… NO, Never… he’s a liberal Democrat, by definition he is the anti-Christ…
You seem to keep missing my point. BOTH sides distort and mis-represent. Complaining about it happening to your guy while not acknowledging it happening to your opponent is disingenuous.
