Well, former GOPer Bob Barr is going to seek the Libertarian Party nomination for President - and this effort is primarily directed against John McCain, who isn’t conservative “enough” to please a libertarian…and the ultimate result of this may be to help elect a de-facto socialist in the form of Barack Obama.
Somewhere in there is a chain of reasoning…normally to be found inside a lunatic asylum, but in America we have allowed quite a few lunatics to run the asylum in the name of divserity.

I watched an excellent show on American Experience on George H. W. Bush over the weekend. This seems reminiscent of the GOP in ‘92. Except then it was the hard core conservatives and the religious right abandoning the nominee for Perot or to simply not vote at all giving Clinton the victory.

1. How about staying on topic, oceandeep? I know it is extremely difficult for liberals to discuss anything their talking points do not cover, but, give it the old elementary school try anyhow. (serendipitous that the captcha words are explosive gas)
2. I reckon’ Barr has been imbibing in the the libertarian platform of making drugs legal. He probably prefers Obama’s open borders stance, which gibes right in with the Libertarian one. Say what you want about McCain, but he does want the borders closed before any sort of “amnesty” is given.

Fascism is a term the left loves use to attack the right. Unfortunately there are few on the left who really inderstand the core principles of fascism or how fascism differs from communism. I would like Oceanbreeze, or any other leftists, to give us his definition of fascism, so that we can all be enlightened.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Barr’s massive popularity and unparalleled rhetorical skills will translate into actual votes. This could be a repeat of 1992, when the first President Bush lost his office because the charismatic Ross Perot split the anti-Clinton vote with him.

Barr is on a desperate grab for a future…cause he sure didnt have enough gumption to get into the expose till now….and the libertarian party pulled all of what…1%….in the last presidential election…lol….like they really, really need to build fast and steal away ron pauls following…eh?
