Lying Liars

It looks like Al Franken is in more trouble…
…and Barack Obama has been saying his uncle “was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps.” He’s been telling that story for years, even though it can’t possibly be true since Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz.
Liz Mair, RNC spokeswoman, says Barack has some explain’ to do.
Barack Obama owes the American public an explanation in light of his statement yesterday regarding his uncle and the liberation of Auschwitz. It is a well-known fact that Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz. Unless Obama’s uncle served in the Red Army, his statement looks nothing short of fatuous—and Americans expect something better than exaggerations and outright distortions from a candidate who hopes to become our next Commander in Chief.
Oh wait, there’s more.
Barack Obama’s campaign scrambled Tuesday to set the record straight after the Democratic presidential candidate said on Memorial Day that his uncle helped liberate the Auschwitz death camp at the end of World War II.
There were two obvious problems with the tale: Auschwitz was liberated by the Soviet Army, and Obama’s American mother was an only child.
Caught in the lie, Obama’s campaign “corrected” the story, saying it was his great-uncle, not uncle, and that it was the Ohrdruf camp at Buchenwald, not Auschwitz.
Is Obama that desperate to improve his image with Jewish voters that he has to exaggerate about his own family history? This is just as pathetic as Hillary’s sniper fire story.

Obama’s Grand-pappy liberated Auschwitz??
Whew!
Me thinks Obama needs something worse than a job as CiC.
Obama need to go headed back to school and learn his history101.

Did you hear the one about HRC surviving sniper fire in Bosnia?

Did you hear the one about HRC surviving sniper fire in Bosnia?
Yeah, I heard something about that….said she was “dodging shrapnel” whizzing by her head at break-neck speed…
Said she even escaped Apache-gatlin fire from above, one bomb right after the other…
Man, I bet she felt like a real “patriot” in the spirit … ‘Bombs bursting in air, gave proof’ … she sang to herself.
Ah yes, the tales of the Clintonistas….

These personal stories that the dem candidates tell all have a phony ring to them, but leftist lemmings suck them up like sweet nectar.
Bill Clinton talking seeing churches burn when he was young…turned out it never happened.
Hillary Clinton dodging sniper fire in Kosovo..never happened.
And B. Hussein Obama…in 2002 he spoke of his grandfather “hearing stories from the men who liberated Auschwitz and Treblinka”. Fast forward to 2008 when realizes he will have big problems with the Jewish vote, his grandfather morphs into his uncle who is oine of the liberators of Auschwitz. Caught in the lie, his staff, NOT OBAMA, corrects the record that it was really Buchenwald. Which one of these fantastic stories are we to believe, if any?
In dem speak, this is not lying, its embelishing the truth, stretching the truth, kind of like political poetic license. All of this is perfectly OK to leftist because the emotional impact of the story is what counts, facts don’t. These stories were intended to motivate, uplift and inspire, never mind that there wasn’t a shread of truth in them. Once again, with the left its good intentions that matter most.

So he misspoke. If his great uncle still help to liberate a concentration camp, just not Auschwitz, does it really matter? Republicans are trying to make an issue about which concentration camp his uncle/great uncle may have liberated. Meanwhile, John McCain doesn’t now the difference between Sunni, Shia and alqaeda and which is supposed to be being aided by Iran. Which one is the more relevant issue?

phnx,
You’re right.
I also think that they have an evil intent to them, too.
One thing that I understand, is that, we’re dealing with politics, and Democrats have always sought to give themselves a “good”reputation by pulling political stunts mostly in the form of lying. In reality, what they do, is they give themselves away when they imitate the tricks of their predecessors. Take for example - John Kerry, spewing hatred for the United States in front of National Council…and they’ve done the same thing from then until now, they make claims of “60,000″ Iraqi civilian deaths, which are contrary to the actual reports.
They want the ball in their court, but they aren’t willing to get it fair and square, they must cheat by lying or some such. It’s a pity.
America needs to pause and reflect on what history shows us about Democrat campaign strategies….because too many people they just go vote … for the same people over and over and over, until they’ve become senile. How can anyone solve any problems when they’re that old? We need new blood in both houses of Congress, but we need people who will stay on the defense against radical extremist Islam and for values in America.
I hope the Lord brings in the New Year with John McCain as our 44th President!
He may be old, but he definitely has the knowledge to pull a good panel together for all the right purposes.

Gaijin says ’so he misspoke’… ha ha
If its not the correct camp, and a non-existent uncle, and you are also a liberal democrat…then logic says its a LIE. You may wish to revisit the smear of McCain’s comments about the factions in Iraq…you will see he was accurate. Try as you might dems…you are the party of liars. Not only that you have to win 57 states now…but we know how. Yesterday, on Memorial Day, B. Hussein hisself spoke to a crowd saying… today we honor the fallen, and I see a lot of you in the crowd…. ha ha ha Thats your guy libs…live with it. And for that never proud woman of his, you can have her too.

“He misspoke.”
What, AGAIN?!?
“misspoke” - liberal code word for lying, when you really do not want to admit to a lie.
Come on, the man “misspoke” about both the relation and place? I can see mistaking the place. But, making a mistake about the relation? Hardly. Mistaking both? Impossible.
Obama is desperate for some sort of military mention in his family. He is embellishing his resume, like many other liberals that we have seen time and again. All to be proven a lie and all liberals claiming, they just misspoke.
Funny, liberals always misspeak, but non-liberals always lie or are just plain stupid.
According to liberals, Quayle did not misspeak when he spelled potatoe (which is an old English spelling), he was an idiot.
Obama claims 57 states, a fictional uncle liberating Auschwitz (unless his long lost uncle was Soviet), etc. etc. but he just misspoke in each case.
Truly amazing the ignorant left will fall for that one each time.

Health care crisis, mortgage crisis, $4.00 gas, Al Qaida in Afganastan and Pakistan, bridges and roads crumpling, involvment in a civil war that has cost 4000 American lives are the real challenges facing America. These posts where some old dude has a senior moment and can’t tell the difference between Sunni and Shia or a young whipper snapper can’t remember the correct name of the concentration camp his grand pappy helped liberate are attempts at distractions.

Its so transparent that Obama wants to ‘connect’ with whatever crowd he is in front of, that he’ll say anything to try to make them think he is one of them.
In front of veterans, why not mention your relation who was a veteran? If you don’t get the facts right, just get mad and make those that point out your errors to be the ones who are ‘distracting’.

Sorry, HC’s and Obama’s exaggerations pale in comparison to the big lies we have been told by the present administration. Scott McClellan has a new memoir which details the bill of goods the public was sold in the days leading up to the Iraq War and after the identity of Valerie Plame was leaked by Cheney’s office.

“Health care crisis, mortgage crisis, $4.00 gas, Al Qaida in Afganastan and Pakistan, bridges and roads crumpling, involvment in a civil war that has cost 4000 American lives are the real challenges facing America.”
Weren’t these the same issues that the liberals ran on in 2006 and have done NOTHING about them? Oh, that’s right, they did have some non-binding resolutions, no confidence votes and symbolic legislation that did absolutely nothing. I guess there politically motivated legislation and pork spending took precedence.
OR WERE THEY SIMPLY….LIES!!!
Why should they solve these issues? They need them again in 2008, since their platform is repetition of the same tired old liberal socialist ideas.
Democrats always putting politics before reality.
Where is the promised “common sense” legislation for lower priced gas & oil? (no one has answered this).
Why are we still in Iraq? They ran on ending the war and bringing our troops home? Oh, that’s right, the Democrat from PA stated that libs were not completely honest in their promises in the 2006 election.
LIBERAL LIES ARE NEVER ENDING!!!
And the lemmings follow……………………….

Democrats have had less than 2 years and Bush and a GOP Congress has six and they did nothing but line their pockets from Abramoff, get richer from the Iraq War no bid contracts and get cozier with their lobbyist buddies while doing all the things their church going base thinks is unseemly.
You have been told that the same old record is not going to get the church ladies to dance this time around. It is going to take more than gay marriage, guns and religion to get John McCain elected and keep the Senate from being Blue 62/Red 38 or worse. The rhetoric will not work Danish Artist making Muslims the Evil Enemy is dead, trotting out the 3 000 dead on 9/11 as a weeping tool of patriotism is dead, appeals to bigots are dead those people are mostly in your fold anyway, the new fear of the Latino horde is dead because Amnesty John is your presumptive nominee, the corrupt Democrats hook will not set in the mouths of indie voters because your caucus of corruption is far longer a list both indicted and unindicted in the House and Senate than that on the left and I will include Canned Tuna Girl in the Left wing list.
Need We continue? Feel free to call Us names now and otherwise insult Our character to deflect your inability to respond. We suggest the Red Auerbach solution. Things look bad and they are probably worse than they look. Eat this one and play hard down the stretch and then come back in 2010 with a new and improved GOP platform for the people.
17. Danish Artist | May 28th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Uh, pain,
the libs has control of Congress. They set the legislative agenda. They have the power to do what they promised and they have not delivered.
The GOP did not have complete lock-in as you would like to believe. They did not control the Senate for the first two years of the administration. When they did get a simple majority in the Senate they could not stop the liberal led filibusters.
With that in mind, when the GOP had control of Congress they did set the legislative agenda. Now that the libs have control of the legislative agenda, you got NOTHING for your vote but LIES and EMPTY PROMISES.
The same tired old talking points are not going to cut it, pain. No bid contracts go back to the mid 90s. Lobbyists? oh please, how much was a cup of coffee with Clinton in the White House?
Liberals did nothing for two years in order to set the stage for the 2008 election. Why fix anything during Bush’s watch? They want the White House and that is more important than anything else right now.
But, you did get in three paragraphs of rambling nonsense unrelated to the topic. However, your political slogans need a little refreshing.
18. kritter | May 28th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
The Dems have control of Congress but not a veto proof majority. The GOP has blocked many of their initiatives. The ones that did pass were vetoed by W.

Danish Artist,
Not only are you ill-informed, you are also wrong. After the 2000 election, it was a 50/50 tie in the Senate with Cheney casting the tie breaking vote. It was not until Jeffords went independent that they Democrats controled the Senate. From the 2002 election until 2006 the Republicans had complete control of every branch of government.
We have all seen how that worked out: Iraq, $4.00 gas, largest morgage crisis since the Great Depression, the dollar losing 60% against the Euro and other currencies, the economy is headed into the toilet (it’s not over yet), corruption, no bid contracts…I could go on and on and on.
Since the Democrats took over in Jan 2007, the Republicans beat the record for most filibusters in the two year election cycle, in 10 months!
With the Republicans filibustering and the Democrats not having enough votes for cloture, more less to overturn a veto, how are the supposed to ram their agenda down Bush the Republicans throat?
Thanks for playing! Maybe next time you should Jeopardy for grade schoolers before you try to sit at the adult table!
Peace, Gaijin

Gaggin,
You can repeat the talking points like the rest of them. Doesn’t prove your point.
BTW, I did say that the Republicans did not have control for the first two years of the Senate (2000-2002). As you stated, “From the 2002 election until 2006 the Republicans had complete control of every branch of government.”
Have a problem with reading comprehension???
I’ll ask again. What legislation has the Democrats proposed that will bring home the troops, lower the price of oil, etc. etc., everything they ran on in 2006?
Why fix anything, since they want the White House???
It does not matter if it was filibustered or not, vetoed or not. They control what is proposed, tabled, debated, etc. etc.
WHAT SPECIFIC LEGISLATION DID THEY PROPOSE TO FULFILL THEIR PROMISES (LIES)???? WHAT LEGISLATION HAVE THEY PROPOSED TO FIX THE PROBLEMS NOW??? WHERE IS THEIR “COMMON SENSE” LEGISLATION TO FIX OIL & GAS?????
Remember, no confidence votes and non-binding resolutions don’t count, which is what they did the first 100 days.
Maybe you can make a respectable attempt on Who’s Smarter than a First Grader.
