Matt,
Aren’t you being a little harsh here? I mean, we were “basically at peace”…Democrats were free to slander Bush and there was no need to twist and dance around a desire to have America defeated in order to advance Democratic political prospects…that was a lot more peaceful…and that some people were being killed by terrorism? Big deal - it didn’t effect Kerry or other rich liberals, did it?

Maybe Kerry’s comments explain why he was stuck in the Congressional building for 45 minutes that morning.(?)
Oh, no, wait, that was fear and shock.
Hasn’t Waffles used up his 15 minutes? Like Cindy Sheehan, he was the darling of the left, then they jettisoned him, and he still wants to be relevant.

Matt,
If we were not at peace, that means we were at war. If we were at war, why wasn’t our military on alert? Why wasn’t our president taking steps to protect our country?

Casper, there is more then just peace and war. There are varying degrees of conflict between the 2.
However, you do ask a good question: what the hell did Clinton do his 8 years in office to protect this country? Besides putting in” The Wall,” refusing to take Osama the 3 times he was offered, treating terrorism as a law enforcement issue, etc and so on.
