Yeah, I’m glad that we might get Obama in the White House…’cause its been so hard having someone as dumb as GW in office. We’ll get Obama, and then the intellectual heights will be scaled…
Democrat Barack Obama paid an unscheduled late-night visit to Mount Rushmore Friday…
…Obama said it was his first visit to the landmark.
He did express curiosity about the filming of a chase scene in “North by Northwest,” Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 classic starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint that included a death-defying scramble over Rushmore’s presidential faces.
“How did they get up there in the first place?” he asked ranger Wesley Jensen.
“They didn’t. It was a movie set,” Jensen told him.
“Pretty spiffy, isn’t it,” said the Illinois senator, summing up his overall impressions.
The anti-Obama campaign is starting to write itself…

And yet, this alleged “idiot” was able to deceive numerous Congressman and Senators, including most of the Democrats, into to thinking that Saddam had WMD, according to the “Bush lied” crowd. If these people were deceived by an “idiot”, how stupid does that make them?
Back to topic.
If you ask me, Mark, this one is pretty low on the gaffe meter. Obama obviously didn’t know that the scene in “North By Northwest” was filmed on a set, and not on location, but at least in this case he was asking, instead of misstating a fact. Now if BHO had looked up at Teddy Roosevelt’s likeness and talked about FDR or the New Deal, then you might have something more substantial.

True, he’s made much more boneheaded statements…but what gets me about this is the lack of understanding that everything done in Hollywood is fake….I worry about a man who can be so easily taken in by pictures…

…on the other hand, that is a problem with the left in general, huh? Thinking about it - one of the left’s biggest items of evidence against the Vietnam war was that picture of the naked girl running in terror from the bombed village…to the left, that picture said it all…that she’s alive, well, and a defector from communist Vietnam doesn’t make it into their line of thinking; the picture tells the story, and that is all they care to know.
Similarily Obama’s views that Iraq is a lost cause - and the verification of his assertion that we shouldn’t go in from back in 2002 - is likely based on pictures, and I’ll bet a lot of them are from Moore’s anti-American propaganda flick about Iraq. If he can fall for Cary Grant on Mt Rushmore, he can fall for a lot of things…

It is not a DNC talking point. It is the truth. You are making fun of Obama’s intelligence because he asked about a movie but I can’t comment on McCain’s gaffes, ie troops levels now in Iraq. I guess it is just nitpicking. You are a little little man.
