Human Events is reporting that the Obama campaign has received $50,000 in “bundled” contributions from Code Pink. While it is not surprising that a subversive organization such as Code Pink would give a campaign contribution to a Presidential candidate who has made it a life practice to freely associate with subversives and other ne’erdowells, what is noteworthy is that Code Pink proclaims itself a 501c3 organization:

Question: Why is a tax-exempt 501c3 organization raising money for a political candidate, while still being able to maintain its tax-exempt status?

I thought Obama would have a tough time with women voters because of hilary? I mean there was a ‘Clinton Supporter’ lady on Hannity and Colmes the other night who organized a group call “just say no deal” and everything. To be fair, Colmes made her look like a bubble headed blonde and showed her for the possible ‘republican plant’ that she was. It was actually quite hilarious. Reminded me more of some terribly scripted tv show that didn’t make it past that first pilot episode.

“what is noteworthy is that Code Pink proclaims itself a 501c3 organization:”

    Leo, the article states that
“Jodie Evans, a Code Pink leader, gathered at least $50,000 from friends and associates and donated it to Obama’s presidential campaign, according to information compiled by the nonpartisan watchdog group, Public Citizen.

Evans and her son, a student who lives at her Southern California address, each also gave the maximum individual allowable donation of $2,300 to Obama’s campaign.”

It’s not against the law to donate your own money.

    Hum

501c3 organization complaint eh? Well I will listen to your complaint, when the big wig family rights and fundie organizations are called to the IRS for their violations of 501c3,

The heroic Code Pink organization, which is defending our rights, has NOT violated 501c3

It crossed my mind recently that the Democratic nominee’s primary foreign policy goal is exactly the same goal as our sworn enemy (retreat in Iraq).

It is no wonder that an America hating group like Code Pink would support such a wimp for President.

“I thought Obama would have a tough time with women voters because of hilary?”

I hardly think that because code pink endorses Obama; doesn’t mean that Obama isnt going to have a hard time with the women vote.

Obviously code pink is a very far-left organization, and it only makes sense that they would endorse someone like Sen. Obama

  6. Some Assembly Required says:

Zach, agreed code pink is a far-left organization. But it is also a feminist organization.

My question was a rhetorical one considering the absurdity of this accusation.

  7. [...] Blogs For Victory points out that Code Pink is a 501c(3) organization. So, since a 501c(3) is prohibited from [...]

  8. Sunny says:

I thought all citizens of this country had the right to donate to the candidates of their choice even if they are involved in 501(c) organizations. Leo, am I wrong? If I am wrong, please tell mey why I am and if I am not wrong, please advise as to why these people should not be allowed to donate and raise money for a candidate they believe in??

  9. Pain says:

It is time to fire Pusateri he thinks he is Bruce Hausknecht!

Human Events did not report that Obama recieved the money from Code Pink, they reported that Jodie Evans, founder of Code Pink raised the money on her own from friends and family.

I see a lot of “facts” being thrown around by the left. There should be an investigation.

Surely, everyone wants the TRURH to emerge. Right?

The truth has emerged. Surely, in the name of honesty, you’ll pressure Leo to issue a correction, right?

I earn a decent wage but donating $2,300 to a campaign would be a lot for me. How can someone who works for a non-profit and a student each afford to donate $2,300? Amazing.

  13. SEW says:

So libs why was the request to make checks PAYABLE to CODEPINK if it was not from CodePink?

  14. Casper says:

    keystonRepublican,
If you read the story you find that she has a lot of money from her ex.

    SEW
The screen shot really doesn’t have anything to do with the story. The money wasn’t from Code Pink. It was from individual donors.

  15. Kahn says:

Sorry Tract, thats not the case. We don’t knoe if the offices and assets of Code Pink were used. We don’t know if these donations were discussed at Code Pink meetings. The “facts” as explained could be “facts” created by a fraud.

Casper, you really have no evidence that what you say is true.

Investigate. Thats fair. it’s what you’d call for if it was the NRA. Admit it.

  16. InDaVa says:

I agree Kahn. Investigate it, if possible. If Charleton Heston donated his own money to McCain he would obviously immediately be linked to the NRA. We wouldn’t know if these donations were discussed at NRA meetings. To be fair investigate but is it worth it to investigate.
