Obama: Americans are Racist (BUMPED)
June 22nd, 2008 at 11:24pm Matt Margolis
The general election race-baiting has begun. Obama is charging that Republicans will use his race to “scare voters.”
“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”
Perhaps Obama needs to understand that his race is obvious to anyone who sees him or a picture of him. Obama’s comments are not only ridiculous, but they’re insulting. But, I guess to Obama, the Republican Party is just full of “typical white people” like his grandmother. How can Obama make such a claim, which essentially says that he thinks the American people are racist?
I think it’s obvious from his comment that Barack Obama is trying to insulate himself from criticisms by making it appear as if any attack against him is an attack on his race. Obama should be ashamed himself. If there’s anything we learned from the Democratic Primary is that race, gender and class warfare are DNC territory. Another thing we can expect from the Obama campaign, as evidenced by this racist implication he made, is that there will be subtle hints from the Obama campaign that if you don’t vote for Obama then you’re a racist. See, Obama wants this election to be about his race. He’ll wants to guilt voters into voting for him in the same way he claims Republicans wants to scare voters into voting against him. It’ll be a repeat of Deval Patrick’s gubernatorial campaign in Massachusetts.
Obama is going to attack, attack, attack John McCain from all angles. Yet, should the McCain campaign release an ad that either (a) shows a picture or video of Barack Obama or (b) mentions his name, the Obama campaign will accuse McCain, or whatever organization puts out any such ads, of attacking his race.
Issues will decide this election… Not Obama’s desire to play the race card at every turn. Obama’s desire to raise taxes, have tea and toast with terrorists organizations, socialize healthcare. Issues alone will guide voters to vote for John McCain over Barack Obama in November.
UPDATE: A real example of using race to scare voters.

Actually… what he said didn’t say that Americans were racist, he said that Republicans would try to use his race as a political issue (which some state Republican Parties have already done). This is just another instance of you reading something and assuming the worst.
2. Vicodin-N-Cocoa | June 21st, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Rana: You’re correct. So is Obama. If I could vote, I’d certainly vote for Obama.
That said, If McCain wants to make race an issue, he’s certainly free to do so. If Obama wants to do it, he’s certainly free to do so. You play poltitics to win. Not for “justice.”
I think Americans on both sides need to grow up a little.
3. Chris | June 21st, 2008 at 1:54 pm
hey, did any of you lefties watch the democratic primary? The Democratic Party showed their true racist colors, and Obama is no exception. Keep making excuses for Obama if you want. Keep believing in your false messiah.
4. Rana Quijotesca | June 21st, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Chris-
There are plenty of things wrong with Obama without having to make things up as Mark has done. For example: his idea for a “windfall-profits” tax is just plain retarded. Talk about this… don’t throw out spurious claims of him being a “socialist” or “race baiter.”
Frankly, I don’t actually support Obama… I just don’t want McCain (and I don’t want Bob Barr either). That’s the problem with American Politics–most people, like me, vote against people instead of for them…
heh… my security words were “his Johnson”

The unifying rhetoric of Obama:
Dreams Of My Father: “The person who made me proudest of all, though, was [half brother] Roy .. He converted to Islam.”
‘Dreams of my Father’, “In Indonesia, I had spent two years at a Muslim school” “I studied the Koran..”
‘Audacity of Hope: “Lolo (Obama’s step father) followed a brand of Islam ….”I looked to Lolo for guidance”.
‘ Audacity Of Hope, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
‘Audacity Of Hope, “We are no longer just a Christian nation,” “We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”
‘Dreams of My Father, ” I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”.
‘Dreams of my Father’, “The emotion between the races could never be pure….. the other race would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart.”
‘Dreams of My Father’, “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites”
Dreams Of My Father, “never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself..”.
‘Dreams Of My Father: “That hate hadn’t gone away,” he wrote, blaming “white people — some cruel, some ignorant, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.”
‘Dreams Of My Father; “There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on,to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names”
‘Dreams Of My Father, “I had grown accustomed, everywhere, to suspicions between the races.”

Neo: Do you know a lot of Jewish people? I don’t mean people who do folkloric dancing in John Hagee’s C.U.F.I.. I mean ordinary Jewish people. How about ordinary Israelis? Just random businesspeople or students in Tel-Aviv or Haifa.
Whether you do or don’t, I’ll blow the lid off a little family secret. We say way worse amongst ourselves with regard to “the goyim” than Obama has in reflecting on his heritage here in your citations.
I’ll tell you the stuff I’ve heard my whole life if you like, but it isn’t very nice. I can’t say I’m proud of participating in it but I did and do.
I’m sure when White Christians get together they say all sorts nasty stuff too. Give Obama the credit for giving you a glimpse into his thought processes as a student and as an adult. If you like it, good. If you don’t, also good.
In the “you’re either with us or with the terrorists” department, Obama can’t hold a candle to my folk! LOL

Dissent is not hatred Mark Noonan. Hatred is what the smear campaign is doing right now with lies about Obama like “he was sworn in as a Senator with a Qu’ran.” What nonsense that would be even if he was!
We do not hate Bush but We do not agree with what he has done. Many more Souls have fallen here because of his decisions. The goal on terra is peace not American comfort nor American hegemony.
Had Gore done exactly as Bush has done would you be writing a blogs for Gore? You will of ciurse tell Us that gore would not have done what Bush has done and that will be the end of that debate and this is because your mind is closed because to you Liberalism or Progressivism is irreligious or atheistic because of a singular issue. If abortion was solved for you or the GOP gave up on that issue in its platform you would be a member of the Constitution Party.
We want what is best for America and right now it is Barack Hussein Obama.

Sounds like you could substitute Irish or Italian or even the word catholic and for black in that paste and you would have the values of the Catholic League or the Knights of Columbus that ring true and do not sound the leats bit “racist.”

Edta. PAIN: You’ve brought up a very interestng question. I’m curious as to how many of the B4JMcV’s regulars HATE Obama?
I’m with you on Bush. I don’t hate him. I think his administration has done tremendous damage to his country, people of other sovereign nations and it’s own standing as “the lone superpower.”
I even have a few good things to say about Bush. I don’t think he’s stupid. I think he’s a pretty quick study, really, a very gifted politician and I wish that there had been more than just a handful of Democrats to have had Bush’s stubbornness and desire for power during Bush’s presidency.
I’m seeing some of that toughness in Obama and I like it. I can’t tell you as someone who has lived in 4 countries outside the United States that the election of Barack Obama would do a great deal to restore the world’s confidence in the USA. I really feel bad for not only Americans in foreign countries who are viewed as goofballs and sadists, but also for how few countries anyone connected to the Bush adminsitration can visit.
McCain is coming to Colombia on Monday to affirm the US alliance with the Uribe and he is in for the shock of his life. Deeply religious Roman Catholics down there call Republicans “Los Anticristos.”
I think Obama will make the world not only more welcoming to non-ideological tourists but to Republican officials as well.

Pain,
Dissent is not hatred; but hatred certainly is…and all I’ve seen from the left for the past few years is the most amazing level of hatred directed at a man in all of human history. The most commonplace and routine acts of the Executive are put out, by you on the left, as parts of some nefarious plot to destroy everything. Listen to yourselves - you really think that America’s position in the world will be improve merely by the election of Obama…as if Obama will make India become closer allied than Bush has brought them to be, as if Iran’s mullahs will hate us less. Only pure, unreasoning hatred could make anyone believe such utter and complete nonsense.

I’ll make it simple for you Marine. Mixed race people define themselves as black because WE defined them as black back when that meant riding in the back of buses, or before that, belonging to white people. I think the standard was if you had one black grandparent, you were black.
I am always bemused by aggressive white people who criticize the militancy in blacks. If my parents had gone through what blacks did in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, I’d still be pissed.
23. Mark Noonan | June 21st, 2008 at 5:12 pm
Vicodin,
Lately, only a few days…but I’ve lived in Europe and travelled to the middle east. And while my Pakistani friend feels that we might not be doing the right thing in Iraq, he’d like nothing better than for us to get rid of those Taliban elements which are destablising his homeland…though he also blames India for part of the troubles. Meanwhile, my Palestinian friend is of the opinion that Arafat wanted to make peace in 2000, but the terror sponsors in the varied Arab governments forbade it because they wanted to keep the conflict with Israel going in order to deflect attention away from domestic ills.
A few weeks ago, discussing things with my Philipino friend, I found out an interesting tid-bit of information; Corazon Aquino is not the belovefd hero that some in the United States might think…seems that while everyone back then wanted Marcos out, the feeling was that Aquino was just a front for other corrupt elements who wanted to get their place at the trough.
I’m sure that in your narrow, and narrow-minded, circle of friends that is what you find - just like the American liberals in 1972 who couldn’t believe that McGovern lost as they didn’t know anyone who had voted for Nixon…but I tend to take a more ecumenical view of the world and actually seek out people who might know something I don’t and/or have an opinion I’ve never dealt with before.
24. Vicodin-N-Cocoa | June 21st, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Mark: You started out great and then went on the attack. I was 11 years old when McGovern lost to Nixon, but as I got a little older and got more and more interested in politics I came to know plenty of Republicans. I like well-informed people of any ideoology. I can always learn something.
I can confirm what you wrote about Corazon Aquino. You are right. Power struggle between two families going back generations.
You were actually writing to me as a gentleman in the first two paragraphs and I’ll file away the information you provided because I have no reason to doubt it.
Still don’t know why you switched into attack mode in last graf.

The leading theorist of Black Liberation Theology is James Cone. Overtly racist, Cone’s writings posit a black Jesus who leads African-Americans as the “chosen people.” In Cone’s cosmology, whites are “the devil,” and “all white men are responsible for white oppression.” Cone makes this point without ambiguity: “This country was founded for whites and everything that has happened in it has emerged from the white perspective,” Cone has written. “What we need is the destruction of whiteness, which is the source of human misery in the world.”
If whiteness stands for all that is evil, blackness symbolizes all that is good. “Black theology,” says Cone, “refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.” Small wonder that some critics have condemned black liberation theology as “racist idolatry” and “Afro-Nazism.”

Pain,
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of Christianity and conservatism.
What’s ironic is that you are quick to excuse away any egregious act of violence by radical Islam by claiming that is not a true reflection of the religion yet gleefully define Christianity by every morally egregious act possible.
Your understanding of conservatism is equally deficient. It would serve you well to start viewing people more as individuals rather than by color or creed.
Vicodin,
Some of the passages from Obamas book are just flat out racist comments…….and he gets a complete pass. That’s the double standard and hypocrisy of the left. It’s also the epitome of the mindset that perpetuates racism. Thus, Obama is not only inexperienced, but could never be expected to lift us above the racial divide as he claims.

Black social consciousness maybe but too centrist in their doctrines to be considered supremacists. One thing a supremacist has to have that you overlook is a power base from which to operate to control and subjugate others.
From whence can the black race draw on such a power base such that they can subjugate the white race, or peoples from Mexico or Cuba or Honduras or Ecuador?
What you are expressing is fear of the whip hand by those who may treat you as your previous generations have treated blacks, nothing more.

Whites in America have created an artifice that grants them privilege that other races struggle to match yet generally do not achieve. These are often documented by the MSM in notes but rarely presented when the camera comes on.
Genetically, morally, by count of blood and bone and sinew all are the same in their DNA. It is what the society in America has created and intolerance for Truth and the falsity of so called tolerance that helps maintain white privilege and allows 202 million whites to sleep at night as if they owe nothing to their black brothers and sisters as Human Beings.

We are laughing.
You do not get it because it does not accept the dogma that the Almighty is white and that all power flows from being white. It is an afro-centric doctrine like you have a Euro or Anglocentric view of the world.
We have had this same discussion with young Persians, young men and women from China and other places on Terra and it only seems people from America cannot grasp this simple ideal.
Everyone does not see the world from your own perspective be it racial or cultural but the learning of how others view the world is the first step in the Great March to becoming a Human Being

Racist.
Never. To take a group of people to task and show them the error of their ways makes Us a judge not a racist.
We love you more than your own kin.
We are often made miserable by how petty you are and how easily you run to tribal or traditional salves in lieu of applying reason to problems but in time. As a great character from Carl Sagan’s epic said, “little steps, Sparks, little steps.”

” To take a group of people to task and show them the error of their ways makes Us a judge not a racist.”
Sorry Pain, but in this country, those who do this to Barack Obama and members of his race are labeled racists.
The label “racist” is used very often to non-liberal types who “take people to task and show them the error of their ways”.
Sorry but that is reality here. Those who have criticized Obama are labeled racist. Too bad reality does not match your fantasy.

Neo-con: I’m stateless but there are times to be down for one’s flag and for me now’s the time: I am one of the collective and I’m standing by Pain and Gabrielle here.
Believe me, you found no greater group of Obama skeptics on the telegraph wire than the staff of THE PITCHFORK, all of us, Black and White, Male and Female, Gay and Straight, Jew and Gentile, Alive and Dead. We have seen the man’s flaws. We don’t expect him to be a saint; we merely hope he’ll be president.
We’re not partisan. We’ve said far worse about Pelosi and Reid than you have. My most recent post was something of a call to sympathy for Jack Abramoff.
That’s why we think we’re superior because we take the time to puzzle through the some of the complexities of these things instead of just hurling epithets: “communist,” “shi’ite,” “black supremacist.” You’re not a bad guy at all, Neo-Con. I’ll give you a lesson here. If you once let on to some confusion about something. If you once wrote something critical or questioning of a Republican, your arguments against Obama would pack more punch.
Practically all of life is random. If you can impose order on 6% of it, you’re pretty damned sharp. Rumsfeld was actually making sense to me with that “known unknows” busines. He just expressed it inartfully.
Normally, in these situations when someone steps to Pain or Gabrielle or Cavalor or Sarah Bloch or Carl Pryor, I’d be there to really write shit that hurts people who mess with them but I’ve come to see something worthy in you and in Mark.
Mark has shown me some interesting looks today in some of responses that at times deviate from an orthodoxy. You still have a tendency to fall back on labels and assumptions instead of discussing ideas.
What don’t you like about Barack Obama’s ideas specifically? What do you like about John McCain’s ideas? And don’t fall back on facile bullshit like “Obama’s a socialist liberal” or “McCain is a true American hero.” What do you like and dislike about each person?

Ah! Maybe you see an economic flaw, but the rest you like about the heathen. You enjoy the fact that he is a supporter of eugenics. You like the fact that he is a stalwart sodomite supporter. You LIKE the fact that he is blind and can’t see the enemy ahead.
You see through a darkened glass, friend. Take them off and you can see with two eyes to behold all that is good and great in life. Perhaps, however, we may just meet in battle one day, to stem the tide against each other.
I invite you to come and join the winning side!

Jeremiah: I appreciate your politeness and your invitation. I must, however, decline. I have no conception of God the way you do. To write to me about God is to tell a color-blind man what the color blud is. I can’t imagine it.
Therefore, I can’t see the world through the lens of your reading of the bible. To me, Barack Obama is not supportive enough of gay rights sometimes. I recognize that there are certain things that Americans aren’t ready for and Obama’s playing to win so some attention to superstition must be paid.
The difference between us is that you believe your interpretation of Scripture has ALL THE ANSWERS, while I don’t think anyone may ever have all the answers. We choose the beliefs that we’re comfortablw with.
You paint these apocalyptic scenarios if a single person disagrees with your religion. I could lay the same anti-deluvian extremism on you. You’ll probably lose everything you have in the next year or so if you don’t get a basic understanding of interest rate math and how currency and commodity markets function.
I believe in that as deeply as you hold your beliefs.
65. js | June 21st, 2008 at 11:16 pm
you really dont know much about christianity to be able to tell anyone about the “concept” of God….when the Holy Spirit decends on a person….that person is changed for life…its not the bible that is written….it is the Word of God in our Hearts…a gift that keeps on giving forever….then again….unless you have experienced it…you would remain ignorant of it…and condemn christians based on your biggotry and prejudice, and ignorance. of exactly what the bible is….
so…in essense…what you believe is a very shallow thing….a cloak that covers your eyes from the truth….
you should accept jermiahs invitation…the only think you have to lose is your color blindness
66. Jeremiah | June 21st, 2008 at 11:31 pm
Vicodin,
Money is essential (almost) to survive. Much money can get you many places…but one thing money cannot do, and that’s bring true happiness, but most importantly, money cannot get you to heaven…..You could have all but the last penny on earth and it still couldn’t buy salvation.
People who are poor, but have a relationship with Christ are 100 times happier than you are.
You lay you’re money on the ground and wha happens over time? It slowly disappears.
Heaven is worth more than anything in this world you can buy, and made with perfection, incorruptible and will last forever and ever.
Too, if a man gets in dire straights, if he has faith in God, God will work it out…he opens avenues everywhere for people who have faith…it’s not luck, not it’s because they had faith and opened doors to them through charity and work.
God won’t let you down, but if all you seek in life is what you have in monetary value, then God becomes angry because you’re worshipping the money instead of Him and He allows things to happen so you will turn back to Him so that you will understand that it is Him who made all your riches possible.
And you see, that’s what’s happening to America, for all these years the people have slowly drifted away from God and denied Him access into their hearts and give Him thanks for it all. So, here we are…we are at a crossroads, God says, ‘You follow Me and I’ll bless you’ …. ‘Don’t follow Me and you shall reap My judgement.’
You decide.

JS: I don’t condemn Christians as a rule. I strongly support a person’s freedom to believe as he likes. I just don’t appreciate anyone evangelizing at me. I am UNABLE to conceive of God or the Holy Spirit or any of that super-natural stuff, not because I’m evil or “shallow” but because it’s not in my nature. Even if I wanted to believe, I mentally, cognitively and physically would not be able to.
In a way I’m kind of jealous of religious people because they have this gift that I don’t have. What I don’t understand, however, is why that gift doesn’t seem to make you fellows happy. It seems to make you very angry.
68. Jeremiah | June 21st, 2008 at 11:38 pm

Fellers:
I am led to believe that there are many sects of Christians, of Catholics and Protestants both. You cannot tell me that a Jesuit and an Opus-Deist are the same. Nor can you tell me that an Episcopalian and a Southern Baptist are the same.
So, I highly doubt you guys represent all of Christianity.
72. Jeremiah | June 22nd, 2008 at 12:38 am
Nor can you tell me that an Episcopalian and a Southern Baptist are the same.
That’s right. Those are just different names for different sects.
To the contrary, we do not define the church as Episcopalian, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist and so forth…In other words, the names of the differing sects do not divide.
What is the church? All those who are born again through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
There are no barriers to becoming a Christian. There are no barriers to access God. We can go freely to God without cost. How? Through faith.
And there’s that verse again in my mind’s eye … ‘Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.’
Read the book of Ephisians.

74. Jeremiah | June 22nd, 2008 at 12:54 am

Vicodin,
No, it is not “religion” has numerous meanings.
It’s trust and faith in God, because God makes everything possible…..there’s nothing under the sun that He would have more joy in, than to see you accept His free gift and become a part of His great plan for you.
People are lost, they don’t know what happiness is, and they need someone to help them understand where their happiness and true hope is in, and that’s through Jesus Christ. It’s not in the money, friend, you can forget that notion, because money is not our last hope when this ol’ body wears out and the undertaker comes. ‘Every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ truly is, Lord.’

Pain,
Those quotes are excerpts from Obamas book. Written by………..wait for it…………Barack Obama.
Tell me, how is it spreading lies when you are quoting the source?
Question: When Obama said the following:
“Senator John McCain has already pledged to accept this fundraising pledge. If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election.”
Was he lying? And you never did answer my question from yesterday, do you feel superior to white American Christians?

Re: the Guevara flag: The following is an excerpt from an interview with the office staffer and her acoount of the campaigns position:
They advised her that she could continue to speak on behalf of the campaign but was “prohibited” from talking about the flag because “what happens, what happens is that is that there are a lot of groups that, well, some people like Che Guevara and other people don’t like Che Guevara and that if I appear on television talking about the flag it would cause a lot of distractions.” When asked who told her that, she answers flatly, “Barack Obama.”

actually gabrielle….you are nothing special in my book…you could be a purple people eater as far as I cared and it wouldnt make your arguement any more valid….
on page 261 of the “Audacity of Hope”, Obama wrote: “In the wake of 9/11…, I will stand with the [Muslims] should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
should anyone be surprised by obama’s written words….. I think not….obama’s father was a muslim…..his stepfather was a muslim….his african grandmother is a muslim…..his brother is a muslim…..his sister is a muslim…..his cousin is a muslim…..obama belongs to a black liberation theology church that follows the teachings of former nation of islam leader malcolm x, and which gave a lifetime achievement award to nation of islam leader louis farrakhan….the founder of black liberation theology james cone is credited on obamas churchs website as being the inspiration for their church……cone has said that white people are “the devil” and that blacks must “kill” all images of Jesus as a white man….yet obama’s church tries to pass itself off as a Christian church.
“Christian”
how many Christians do you know who follow a theology grounded in the nation of islam….how many Christians do you know whose relatives are all muslims……how many Christians do you know who call white people “the devil”…….and how many Christians do you know who say that Jesus is black……. and that all images of him as white must be killed…..how many Christians do you know who would stand with the muslims against America…..its pretty basic….support your empty shirt in ignorance….you happy that way, right…….

Pain,
I posted those original quotes of Obamas, not js.
And your denial of those factual quotes suggests that you are far from being superior. In fact, inferior would be more appropos.
But it’s very interesting that you would consider yourself superior when in fact you have excoriated others for the same sentiment. Do you see the hypocrisy in that?
Tell me how you feel about the following:
Quran, Surah 4, Verse 56
I am enjoying this dialogue Pain. You are revealing a mindset that is the primary cause for the continueed bloodshed and divide in the world.

It’s not very often that I get to address someone directly and call them a liar but that’s what you are js.
Your talking point smear omits the entire context of what he said in an effort to make Obama look like he would stand against America if it were attacked again.
But as usual the truth will set you free. I will boldface the parts that were used by you even though
Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”–Barack Obama, Audacity of Hope, p 261.
88. neocon | June 22nd, 2008 at 10:44 am
Ladies and Gentleman (and you too Vicodin, LOL)
The following sentiment is THE REASON why there is continued bloodshed and divide in this world. As long as people like Pain harbor such prejudiced feelings, there will never be any healing. It will be impossible to lift societies above the divide and temper the conflicts. People like Pain must continue to be confronted and educated so that societies can move into a more peaceful co-existence.
“Sure considering that We are smarter, wealthier, and can multilocate We, Ourselves of the Collective feel that means We are in many ways “superior.” - Pain
FYI Pain, I have archived this response and will use it often to demonstrate the egregious mindset of those that perpetuate strife.
89. neocon | June 22nd, 2008 at 10:53 am
Gabrielle,
When put in even more context, the quote is equally disturbing. Where is Obamas compassion for the 3000 Americans of all faith that were senselessly murdered on that day by those of another faith?
Does he not have any words of solace for them? Does he not feel their anxiety of being attacked for nothing that have done?
Quran, Surah 4, Verse 89
90. js | June 22nd, 2008 at 11:11 am
in the context of WWII, and the japanese attack on pearl, the internment of japanese nationals and japanese americans was the right thing to do after we had found spy rings in the USA in time of war for the purpose of espionage and attacks on American soil…..it was a decisive move that eliminated the majority of possibility of attacks within the USA by Japanese nationals and thier relatives/freinds and sympathisers….
and in context of the statement that hussein made…if muslims were to organize such organizations against the United States, as enemies of the United States….you and barak hussen obama would be consider traitors for promoting such activity….in time of war….the protection of national interests and security over ride constitutional rights….so yes….its a point well taken that we can not trust barak hussein obama as our President directly because of words that came out of his own mouth….
and realize this….your isolation of one point…a single topic…listed in post #7 by neocon….show me even more so that your superficial ideology and attempt to berate the truth with factual slander and deciet through omission and your direct address of the issue…are not credible…… and thus exposes you as another lemming on the lemming pole of obama’s groupies….

We suggest you click the link read the truth of what Mr Obama wrote and accept Our forgiveness of your ignorance.
The noted Qu’ranic translator Mohammed Aqib Qadri, translates: “in-nal-ladhiyna kafaruu biaayaatinaa sawfa nuSliyhim naaraa* kul-lamaa naDijat juluuduhum bad-dalnaahum juluudan gayrahaa li yadhuuqul ‘Adhaab* in-nal-laaha kaana ‘Aziyzan Hakiymaa.” An Nisa, Qu’ran 4:56.
as:
“We shall soon put those who disbelieve in Our signs into the fire; whenever their skins are cooked (fully burnt) We shall change them for new skins so they may taste the punishment (again and again); indeed Allah is Almighty, Wise.”
In this the Qu’ran speaks to those who are disbelievers in Truth and are not people of the Qu’ran, Torah or Bible. All the “signs” spoken of are the Chrsitian Messiah, Musa [Moses] and Ibrahim [Abraham]. This passage has been horribly misinterpreted by both Muslims and Christians alike to mean that all who do not believe in Islam must burn.

this is what you defend;
Quran Surah 2: The Cow
Don’t bother to warn the disbelievers. Allah has blinded them. Theirs will be an awful doom. 6
Allah has sickened their hearts. A painful doom is theirs because they lie. 10
A fire has been prepared for the disbelievers, whose fuel is men and stones. 24
Disbelievers will be burned with fire. 39, 90
For disbelievers is a painful doom. 104
For unbelievers: ignominy in this world, an awful doom in the next. 114
Allah will leave the disbelievers alone for a while, but then he will compel them to the doom of Fire. 126
The doom of the disbelievers will not be lightened. 162
They will not emerge from the Fire. 167
Those who hide the Scripture will have their bellies eaten with fire. Theirs will be a painful doom. 174
How constant are they in their strife to reach the Fire! 175
Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kil them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. 191
War is ordained by Allah. 216
Those who die in their disbelief will burn forever in the Fire. 217
Disbelievers worship false gods. They will burn forever in the Fire. 257
Allah does not guide disbelievers. 264
“Give us victory over the disbelieving folk.” 286
Quran Surah 3: The Family Of ‘Imran
Those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, theirs will be a heavy doom. 4
Those who disbelieve will be fuel for the Fire. 10
Those who disbelieve shall be overcome and gathered unto Hell. 12
Those who disbelieve, promise them a painful doom. 21
Theirs will be a painful doom. 77
All non-Muslims will be rejected by Allah after they die. 85
Disbelievers will have a painful doom. And they will have no helpers. 91
Disbelievers will have their faces blackened on the last day. They will face an awful doom. 105-6
Those who disbelieve will be burnt in the Fire. 116
The Fire is prepared for disbelievers. 131
We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Their habitation is the Fire 151
Theirs will be an awful doom. 176
Disbelievers do not harm Allah, but will have a painful doom. 177
Disbelievers will have a shamful doom. 178
Disbelievers will go to Hell. 196
Quran Surah 4: Women
Those who disobey Allah and his messenger will be burnt with fire and suffer a painful doom. 14
For the disbelievers, We have prepared a painful doom. 18
For disbelievers, We prepare a shameful doom. 37
Hell is sufficient for their burning. 55
Unbelievers will be tormented forever with fire. When their skin is burned off, a fresh skin will be provided. 56
Allah will bestow a vast reward on those who fight in religious wars. 74
Believers fight for Allah; disbelievers fight for the devil. So fight the minions of the devil. 76
Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them. 89
If the unbelievers do not offer you peace, kill them wherever you find them. Against such you are given clear warrant. 91 ( Offering peace in Islam means surrendering. All 67 out of 68 wars of Muhammad were offensive. They are called qazwah (raid, ambush, sudden attack). That is how Muhammad waged his wars. He raided, massacred and looted civilians with no warning. The one defensive war, ‘ditch’ was not fought. That is why the Islamic terrorism ‘jihad’ will continue until the West “offers peace”. This was made clear by Bin Laden.)
Those who oppose the messenger and become unbelievers will go to hell. 115
Those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe and disbelieve again will never be forgiven by Allah. 137
For the hypocrites there will be a painful doom. 138
Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers into hell. 140
The hypocrites will be in the lowest part of hell and no one will help them there. 145
You must believe everything Allah and his messengers tell you. Those who don’t are disbelievers and will face a painful doom. 150-151
For the disbelievers, Allah has prepared a painful doom. 161
God will guide disbelievers down a road that leads to everlasting hell. 168-169

That’s right neocon play to the fears of white Christians of limited intelligence with the “Muslim slaughter thing” and any lie that you know these hayseeds won’t check up on by going to the library and cracking the book open on their own.
You’re wrong and Obama will win the election and the right wing pundits will make a killing saying the economic turnaround was because of the Bush policies like they gave Reagan the credit for Clinton’s economic boom times.
95. neocon | June 22nd, 2008 at 11:38 am
Gabrielle,
So now you’re calling Christians stupid? How is that rhetoric going to help ease tensions and lift the divide?
Your rebuttal was extremely weak and clearly evidence that you simply regurgitate propaganda rather than objectively think through issues.
Example:
“You’re wrong and Obama will win…”
Brilliant.

Your world is in a shambles and your mind cannot handle the facts that your world view is being rejected by millions upon millions of people who are good and true citizens of the United States of America so with racist lie and bigoted screed you seek to fight that change and that is your right.
We prefer to take joy in victory and change that will save America from a fate far worse than simple death. Our Collective Mind is filled with the dreams of future prosperous American generations living in a land of progressive laws, taxes and with a rational global foreign policy. Unlike the unilateralist model of those you support that can only force other nations into joining a “coalition of the willing” to invade Iraq for what seems to be the sole purpose of making claer that such waste laying will be the penance for showing the rest of the world how weak America is and how easy it actually is to kill their citizens.
The reaction of America to 9/11 in Afghanistan was rational and direct to the point. The invasion of Iraq was the reaction of an overseer who has fallen from his horse and wakes from the knock on the head to find that the slaves have his shotgun, whip and an terrible look in their eyes.

Well I really don’t hink that the smears and the e-mails and the talking points are aimed at liberal blacks, or Muslims or even voters of Mexican or Guatemalan descent. They can only be aimed at white Christian fence sitters who like Obama’s charisma and maybe his progressive tax plan and how “presidential” he looks. It’s an assumption and I’m a finance writer not a political writer but I think I can be safe in saying that the targets of these smear mails are white Christian men and women between the ages of 39-64. And there’s a hectare or two of foot deep stupidity under that net my friend.
I’m sorry and I’m not trying to be an elitist at all but you have to admit there are some people out there that if I said lies about John McCain would believe them just as easily. It’s more a statement about stupidity than race or religion. But you set the parameters in your question after I made the comment.
98. neocon | June 22nd, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Pain,
Again, I have no idea who you are talking to. You certainly are not addressing any of my points. However, I believe a team of therapists could have a field day with your observations.
Gabrielle,
What e-mails are you referring to?? And again you start stereotyping and dividing people. Why do you do that???
And do you suppose that there are Muslims who have (using your words) limited intelligence, and could be equally swayed by rhetoric? I am thinking of Pain of course.
And I will ask you again, since you failed to answer the first time. How is using Obamas very own words, smearing him? I am not trying to paint him in any negative light, I am simply offering up his own rhetoric as an example of his mindset to be scrutinized. It’s very telling however that you deem that to be a smear and negative. You may want to examine your own mindset rather than those of others.
Just a thought

The greatest threat facing America today is Americans’ ignorance about Islam. Until Americans understand the threat of Islam on its society and its soil, people will continue to die. Until there is a true understanding of this faith and means to control it, Americans, along with other people will continue to die. The threat of Islam is real. Until the Americans understand that all violent Islamic fundamentalist groups, including al-Qaeda and Hezbollah and others are true Muslims who wish to kill all Americans, they will continue to die.
No, Islam has not been hijacked by the Islamic militants. The cult of Islam has hijacked humanity for almost 14 centuries. Until we digest this and do something about it, innocent people, including Americans, will continue to die.

The next thing I imagine you would suggest is to just exterminate them and then begin a global war to eradicate Islam from Terra? And once you do this what are you supposed to put into your fine touring car for gasoline? No doubt the House of Saud would see this as an insult and cut you off. Without oil no matter how almighty you think you are you and yours die js.

Your economy would convulse twice, the wealthy would flee and you and your family would be slaughtered in the chaos. And you could count yourself among the lucky to die early.
America is not a nation that can tighten they are the spoiled children of the planet. A simple brownout send people into a tizzy. Imagine if there was no petrol? Once a drill is placed in our “terra”, and domestic reserves are tapped, you’ll hear a collective (you’re familiar with that term) groan from the OPEC community.

121. js | June 22nd, 2008 at 1:36 pm
All societies did not practise universal standards of vice and virtue, yet it is well known that almost all communities knew what was good and bad. For example, mutual fidelity of consorts, speaking the truth, keeping promises, respecting family ties, helping the poor and weak, were considered signs of good morality. Of course, morality cannot be coded but its rules are well understood. From this attitude arose the famous maxim: “Do not do to others what you do not want to be done to yourself.”
It means that you must wish others what you wish for yourself. Since every one desires security of person and property, liberty to worship, fair trial, freedom of speech etc., these facts, over a period of time, rose to become what is called Human Rights. He who violates these rights is held the enemy of humankind.
When Islamic morality is judged by universal standards, this Arabian religion fails to qualify as the friend and guide of humanity. In fact, it constitutes a major threat to the survival of human race. I have no doubt that the Muslims will protest against this point of view, and as usual, will produce far- fetched and irrational evidence to prove that Islam advocates love and brotherhood of mankind. This type of sorcery has worked wonders for Muslim fundamentalists in the past, but with the dissemination of knowledge, it is difficult to cloud the truth with the magic of misinterprelation, marvel of mesmerisation and mysticism of meaninglessness.

The oil embargo was precipitated by OPEC nations and not just Saudi Arabia. It was in response to Americas defense of Israel.
In the end, America adapted brilliantly by employing new policies, albeit not strong enough, to lessen our dependence on, and consumption of, foreign oil. Once the cash registers in those nations slowed, and OPEC nations sensed America was preparing to move on, the embargo ended.

A common theme is evident in all of our liberals posts. And that is a disdain for, and a contempt of, others with different viewpoints.
In their posts, there are often references to intellectual capacity, religious affiliations and color of skin. But what’s more disturbing are the references to violence and death.
These are the same people that lecture, and excoriate others for those same feelings and prejudices that they exhibit on a daily basis.
They just can’t discern the fact that they are perpetuating the same cycle of ignorance that plague those who continue to create the unnecessary misery around the globe.

Vicodin,
No, not “ungentlemanly” but, rather, “un-Christian” - I paid you out with the same sort of insult you directed towards me, and for that I am sorry to both you and to God, who is all good and deserving of all our love. And while I will endevour to not do that again, I will advise you - as is my Christian duty - to make efforts on your part to do the same, lest you run into someone who will not only pay you back in your own coin, but seek vengance upon you.
To tie this back int our subject - when Obama stated that one of the attacks we’re bound to launch on him is over his skin color, he used that presumption of knowledge all too common on the left. He thinks he knows what he doens’t know…meanwhile, like almost all leftists, he is unwilling to concede that someone else might have an equally good or ever better idea. We don’t give a tupenny damn for Obama’s skin color - what gets us is his socialism, his immersion in the Culture of Death and his complete ignorance of foreign and military affairs. He’s unfit to be President - and this stands whether he’s a straight, white male or a differently abled transgendered person of color. And if McCain were a differently abled transgendered person of color but retained McCain’s qualities as opposed to Obama’s, McCain would still be better qualified than Obama to be President (though I’d probably end up writing in someone else given the fact that I hold “transgendered” to be an indicator of a serious flaw in personal judgement).
In your arrogance towards me - and the rest o the conservatives here - you demonstrate that same ideologically-blinded view of the world. I have many flaws and my areas of igorance are large - you are and do, too, but you’ll be the last to just voluntarily admit it, and you certainly wouldn’t mean it vis a vis any subject you’d choose to argue with me over. Be that as it may, in spite of the things I don’t know and the mistakes I make, I have been around the world, I am well versed in other civilizations and I know, as far as fallible human being are able, what happened from the dawn of recorded history to the present day. Far from being some frightened rabbit hiding behind Christ, my desire to be a devout Catholic stems from what I’ve learned - but tremendously re-inforced once my learning impelled me to bend the knee to Our Lord. It is I, the Christian, who’s worldview is based on reason - not you; you’re irrational…materliast, determinist, Darwinist (and there’s nothing wrong with Darwin and his theory, but become Darwinism it allows people like you to think you know what you haven’t the faintest notion about). A bit of thinking, a bit of humility before your Creator, and you’ll find the whole world opening up for you…and, also, you’ll not want to think yourself superior to others…and you’d also vote against Obama in November, if not for McCain.

tsk, tsk……….isn’t that what you blame others for? Unable to lift themselves above the prejudiced fray? I am disappointed.
