Cynthia McKinney 2008

July 14th, 2008 at 08:35am Matt Margolis

Isn’t this rich?

Green Party delegates have selected former Democratic Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of Georgia as the party’s presidential nominee.

Ruth Weill, the party’s national convention coordinator, said the delegates selected McKinney as they wrapped up their national convention here on Saturday.

McKinney tapped Rosa Clemente, a hip-hop artist, journalist and activist, as her running mate.

The sad thing is, she’s more qualified than Barack Obama.

Think she’ll be invited to any debates?

Only if Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin are invited as well.

What nothing about the New Yorker cover? I’m shocked!

I thought the New Yorker captured Michelle my belle beautifully.

    merci beaucoup

Come on, neocon, can’t you give us plus de français than that? You might embarass us, you know. [/sarc]

Seriously, from what I understand, the New Yorker cover was an attempt to make fun of Obama’s detractors, who have allegedly portrayed him as a closet muslim, but was taken by Obama and his supporters to be satirical of the Obamas themselves.

I wouldn’t call Michelle Obama “my belle”, or even “ma belle”, as the French (and the Beatles) put it. Michelle Malkin, on the other hand, has a better chance of deserving such a compliment.

We, Ourselves, feel this would have been better recieved if the Obama’s depicted there had been seen in a thought bubble rising out of the all the minds of the congregation of an all white church being preached to by Hannity and Limbaugh.

That, would have been satire and it would have made the point clearer.

We, Ourselves, believe that Pain has serious internal issues with Cristianity and self confidence. Anyone who speaks in the third person exposes an underlying, sophmoric self doubt that is usually overcome by availing oneself to an unbiased education.

Sadly, I don’t see this happening.

I’ll bet Bob Barr gets more votes. There are a lot more far right radicals unhappy they have to vote for McCain.

Of course We take issue with religion being used as a tool of hate and ignorance who wouldn’t? Islam’s radical minority and that equal measure of those Christians, intolerant and hate filled, that would do harm to people and destroy property are one and the same as a delusional man running in the sahdow of Shai’tan all over Terra doing that evil master’s bidding.

Our internal systems are functioning quite well thank you. In four months the voters will turn the volume down on your shouts.

“The sad thing is, she’s more qualified than Barack Obama.” Matt

    Only in your dreams Matt.

  • 9. neocon  |  July 14th, 2008 at 10:46 am

    Was I shouting Pain?

Actually I was quietly exposing your sophmoric ignorance. And equating Christianity with radical Islam takes that ignorance to another level.

Yeah…we really have to worry about all of the Christian suicide bombers.

Cynthia should be a serious threat to the BO base. Blacks, kooks and those seeking government handouts. Will hurt Ralph Nader also.

One interesting thing about this nomination which Matt didn’t comment on, is the fact that BOTH Green nominees are black women… if it was Mark who posted this I wd say because he didn’t bother to read the article before posting it, but Matt presumably knew this and didn’t comment on it.

The Greens evidently feel that being non-white and/or female are NOT defects which have to be be balanced out by having a white male as the VP. The Democrats are not going to choose a black candidate as wunning mate for Obama, although a white woman is a distinct possibility.

To get back to Matt’s basic point, which is that Obama is supposedly even less qualified than McKinney: Obama and McKinney both served in the Congress for several years. Obama’s record outside of Congress is a little more distinguished than McKinney’s…. although he lacks the primary credential a President needs, which was to have survived being shot down in a plane. Neither one is a slouch.

“One interesting thing about this nomination which Matt didn’t comment on, is the fact that BOTH Green nominees are black women…” Timmmah!

Naturally a leftists would notice first color then gender. We recognize Cynthia, as just another kook leftists. This quality transcends race and gender which are irrelevant.

Pain…. so let me get this straight.

Insult yourselves, then say its what we would have said?

Some one must have slipped you placebos again. Get your meds replaced.

  • 15. Kahn  |  July 14th, 2008 at 1:44 pm

SEW, I though Nader was the Green candidate last time. He isn’t running, is he?

Doesn’t McKinney line up closely with you liberal moonbats? But I think your positions on Obamas shifting positions show you are willing to take the chance that Obama was telling the truth in the primaries and is lying now.

One of my cub scouts parents is a Capital Police Officer… he thinks she’s a nut. Thats something about where I live. I can usually find someone who actually knows most any incumbent or someone who has served in Congress or held high office.

I know people who shoot at the same gun club as Scalia (its a little too expensive for me). I know Secret Service agents who will never give particulars (NEVER), but who will give you their evaluation of someone. arately

Ralph is running as an Independent. Hopefully any debates will include Cynthia and Ralph. If anyone thought Billary and Hussein were one voice, Hussein and Cynthia are closer. And what an elogant statesperson she is, much like teleprompter BO. Chis Matthews gets tingling in his groin when she speaks. Maybe her speech on race will replace Barry’s speech just before he reneged and threw Wright under the bus.

KHAN, SEW: I actually agree with you. Barr, McKinney and Nader should be in at least one of “town-hall” debates and one of the “traditional TV” debates.

Obama SHOULD have to defend his brand of progressivism against that of McKinney and Nader and McCain SHOULD have to defend his brand of libertarianism against Barr.

If wishes were horses than I’d like to see McKinney and Barr with a legitimate chance to win. I suppose I like Barr, McKinney and Nader’s views better than Obama’s or McCain’s. While all three have political and cognitive limitations that Obama doesn’t have, at least none of the three make telling me how to live part of their platforms. The nature of American politics makes it necessary that major party candidates adopt the school-marm role from time to time.

I think any of Barr, McKinney or Obama would make a better president than McCain would.

I believe Obama would make the best president of the bunch, however.

But I can’t vote, so it doesn’t much matter.

    Mr V,

You like McKinneys views? I would say that she is more than a few french fries short of a happy meal.

During a nasty 1996 congressional campaign with racial tension on both sides, she called supporters of her Republican opponent “holdovers from the Civil War days” and “a ragtag group of neo-Confederates.” Never mind that her opponent was Jewish. And during the 2000 presidential campaign, she wrote that “Gore’s Negro tolerance level has never been too high. I’ve never known him to have more than one black person around him at any given time.” Never mind that Gore’s campaign manager was black.

    Mark,

Please make the next thread about Hillarys supporters recent efforts to force Obama to put her on the ticket or they intend to nominate her at the convention.

    Gotta love those Clintons.

Someone should tell McCain that Czechoslovakia no longer exists. How many “senior moments” has he had so far?

Thanks Robert. Here’s one for you: your candidate is naive on international affairs, has no energy plan at all - actually worse that that has plans for no energy at all, and is planning the biggest tax increase in history to pay for our move to socialism.

So wow, what a slip eh?

    You pip.

  • 23. Danish Artist  |  July 15th, 2008 at 12:18 pm

Wow, robert. Maybe you can tell Barak Hussein Obama that we do not have 57 states!

  • 24. Timothy Horrigan  |  July 16th, 2008 at 5:45 pm

Well one thing McKinney’s alleged run-in with the Capitol Police proves is: this is one tough and one strong lady…. so tough and so strong she was (if the story is true) able to singlehandedly beat up an armed police officer. If terrorists attack the USA during a McKinney Administration, she isn’t going to talk with them or psychoanalyze them or wait 18 months and attack a target of opportunity who had nothing to do with the attacks… she will go kick their butts. Hell, she will probably go out to the war zone personally and lead the fighting.

Oh please. My recollection of the story is she took a swing at the guy, not that she “beat him up”. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I like Mckinney. She is the only one to stand up to bush and say hes terrible. She is calling for WAR CRIMES against them and thats a pretty strong issue for them. Then you have the 911 Truth issue that she is bringing up. She would know, she has like 6 terms in Congress and had the keys tot he safe. 911 happened cause bush did it. I’m no troother but think this is starting to make sense after I reexamine what happened that day. My children are going to live through the mess that our generation caused and let them get away with.
