Obama’s Alternate Reality…

July 24th, 2008 at 08:33pm Leo Pusateri

In Germany today, Barack Hussein Obama had this to say about his “actions” regarding Iran. As Powerline notes,

Now, in terms of knowing my commitments, you don’t have to just look at my words, you can look at my deeds. Just this past week, we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee, a bill to call for divestment from Iran, as a way of ratcheting up the pressure to ensure that they don’t obtain a nuclear weapon.

But Obama is not a member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. Obama just made that up so he could count the committee’s action as one of “my deeds.”

How is it that a U.S. Senator, one who is supposedly made of the “right stuff” to lead this nation on a glorious path toward…uhh.. change, doesn’t even know on which committee he serves? Is he that dense? Or is it that Obama is just that brazen a liar, in the knowledge that his fawning, sycophantic media posse will provide the needed cover?

In either case, it may behoove you Obamatons to really think, and think hard, before pulling that lever in November.

CORRECTION: I mistakenly stated that Obama made the quoted speech in Germany; in actuality, Obama made the speech yesterday at Sderot, Israel. Thanks, Casper.

This just proves that Obama is too old to be the President, but I reserve the right to refine this position.

    Those Obamatons won’t want to think…but feel….

  • 3. Casper  |  July 24th, 2008 at 9:20 pm

BTW Leo, you quoted the wrong speech.

  • 4. Leo Pusateri  |  July 24th, 2008 at 9:24 pm

You’re right, Casper– He made the quoted speech in Israel. I stand corrected.

Obama smokescreen Barrack strikes again. I wonder if at some point Obama will start to believe is own lies. Well maybe it isn’t a lie in Obamaland, that magically land where words better have meaning because reality doesn’t.

    Hmmm….

The Obamatons are strangely silent here.

    Barack Obama to John McCain:

    “I drink your milkshake”

  • 9. Rana Quijotesca  |  July 24th, 2008 at 11:25 pm

Actually, there has already been a clarification from the campaign, mainly that it was a bill he wrote, not his committee. He chalked it up to lack of sleep… I would regard it the same way you regard McCain’s concern over the Iraq-Pakistan border…

“Or is it that Obama is just that brazen a liar, in the knowledge that his fawning, sycophantic media posse will provide the needed cover?”

Right. This coming from someone who’s candidate had his horrendously wrong and embarrasing answer to a question by Katie Couric edited out of the interview and replaced with an answer to a different question. Forgive me if I don’t much care for your faux outrage.

  • 11. Leo Pusateri  |  July 25th, 2008 at 2:13 am

So McCain is getting old, but your messiah only suffers from a lack of sleep.

Face it. Your messianic candidate is useless without a teleprompter. If brains were gas he couldn’t drive a piss-ant’s car half way around a bee-bee.

  • 12. Leo Pusateri  |  July 25th, 2008 at 2:16 am

One more thing… if Obamassiah suffers from poor judgment from “lack of sleep” as they attribute all of his myriad gaffes, what will it be like when he has to make decisions if (God forbid) he actually becomes CIC.

What about that call at three in the morning? Will he have the wherewithall to make a clear, reasoned decision? Or will he be plagued by a “lack of sleep” while he starts a nuclear holocaust in Norway?

  • 13. Faceplant  |  July 25th, 2008 at 2:26 am

“So McCain is getting old, but your messiah only suffers from a lack of sleep.”

No he’s not only getting old. By the McCain campaigns own admission he “misspoke” when he didn’t know the difference between Sunni’s and Shi’ite’s, he “misspoke” when he confused Sudan with Somalia, he was just tired when he tried to claim that the surge predated the Anbar awakening, he must have just misspoke AGAIN when he cited the Iraq - Pakistan border… etc…

Apparently, your candidate suffers from a disease that makes him “misspeak” CONSTANLY. Or maybe he just is a staff driven politician who really doesn’t know what he’s talking about unless his aids give him a memo to read.

“One more thing… if Obamassiah suffers from poor judgment from “lack of sleep” as they attribute all of his myriad gaffes,”

Myriad of Gaffes? Why don’t we list Obama, and McCains Gaffes side by side. It’ll be fun!

And Isn’t it funny how pretty much all of McCains gaffes have to do with his foreign policy, which is his supposed strong point?

  • 15. hermie  |  July 25th, 2008 at 8:20 am

A ‘gaffe’ is one thing, but to claim he belongs to a committee which he well knows he does not belong to, then claim credit for a piece of legislation that came from that committee, is pure BS to try to shore up his meager credentials.

But that’s Obama’s style. Even in the State Senate he was credited (and took credit for despite the truth) for legislation that others had worked on for years.

  • 16. gotbrains?  |  July 25th, 2008 at 10:44 am

    Leo -

Your correction here reveals the truth: if you thought the passage was from Barack’s speech in Germany, then you obviously didn’t listen to said speech.

But not having listened to it doesn’t prevent you from criticizing Obama’s Germany speech in other threads.

  • 17. hermie  |  July 25th, 2008 at 12:19 pm

gb…but the passage still reveals Obama’s tendency to take credit where credit isn’t due, and his extremes in inflating his own importance in the Senate.

  • 18. Faceplant  |  July 25th, 2008 at 7:59 pm

“gb…but the passage still reveals Obama’s tendency to take credit where credit isn’t due, and his extremes in inflating his own importance in the Senate.”

Like when McCain tried to take credit for the passage of a bill he opposed?

“I’m happy to tell you that we probably agreed to an increase in educational benefits for our veterans…”

McCain actually strenously opposed that bill.

The point being that if you only criticize Obama for doing something, and don’t criticize McCain for doing the same, then you deserve absolutely no credibility.

FP, if Mark of Matt had any credibility left I would be highly surprised. I think this is evidenced by their book sales. Last I checked, it was no where near the best seller list. Maybe they should get some tips from Ann Coulter.

  • 20. Some Assembly Required  |  July 25th, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Sorry I left you out leo, I didn’t include you because your posts are hysterical. At least Mark makes an occasional point every now and then.

I wish people would stop with the …misspeaking, inartful. blah, blah blah….and use the word that it really is……………..

    A LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
