Nearly Half Are Tired Of Hearing About Obama

August 7th, 2008 at 08:37am Matt Margolis

Count me as part of those who are sick and tired of hearing about him.

Barack Obama may be the fresh face in this year’s presidential election, but nearly half say they’re already tired of hearing about him, a poll says.

With Election Day still three months away, 48 percent said they’re hearing too much about the Democratic candidate, according to a poll released Wednesday by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. Just 26 percent said the same about his Republican rival, John McCain.

Obama, the 47-year-old Illinois senator who would become the first black president, has dominated political news coverage much of the year. According to an ongoing Pew study, Obama has appeared in more news stories this year and more people say they have heard more about him than McCain, the longtime Arizona senator who also ran for president in 2000.

Two-thirds of Republicans and about half of independents said they’ve heard too much about Obama, as did a third of Democrats, a significant number.

Everyone will be sick of him come November.

This is just as bad as Joey Butafucco, the two olympic skaters and the castrated husband.

We need a new disease OFS - Obama Fatigue Syndrome.

52% can’t get too much Obama. Keep this endless flood of Obama drivel going. Keep it coming.

That all you hear on TV and the radio - Obama. I would like John McCain to talk about himself for a change and what he plans to do as president instead of putting out silly advertisements about Obama.

What does John Edwards, candidate for VP or Attorney General have to do with Obama receiving too much “exposure?”

  • 11. Blix  |  August 7th, 2008 at 3:49 pm

I said it before and I’ll say it again. McCain has largely gotten a pass from the evil MSM thus far. Obama is critisized for the tiniest insignificant things while McCain’s gaffes, granpa moments, flip flops are largely ignored especially by the wacko righties.

Very true, everytime I see a McCain video, he is talking about Obama. What are McCain’s plans for healthcare, energy, taxes(’nothing is off the table’)? Look through the archives here at BFV….mostly anti-Obama or anti-Dem.

Among all other democratic nations, the title of having the most drawn-out and complicated election process definitely has to go to the United States.

How long has this Presidential race been going on, anyway?

You would think that with the much tooted Yankee ingenuity, there would have been a sensible solution found to shorten the thing by now, wouldn’t you?

  • 13. Jeremiah  |  August 7th, 2008 at 5:28 pm

Well, I can understand their frustration, Mark … But everyone needs to be educated on what an immense danger he poses to this country.

Now, not all the liberals are like the ones here, the ones here have reprobate minds, and it is true that there are millions just like the ones who post here…but there’s a few out there that I believe if they were just given an opportunity to hear the truth for one time, that they would see how evil their party is and would thus be freed from the shackles of their support to the Democrat party.

“Shoot, even Paris Hilton fired back at McCain. I mean how stupid can people be?”

Good job Paris. Fired at McCain and hit Obama square. Her energy plan is indeed much superior to Hussein’s. McCain should use her snippet in his next “Right wing Attack” ad.

  • 16. Some Assembly Required  |  August 7th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

Here I was thinking it was a ‘Hybrid’. By definition it would be ‘much superior’ to ‘Both’ plans.

Also, Obama’s plan included Drilling. Her plan sounded more like Obama’s actual plan then the ‘Tire Gauge’ plan you like to play with.

What did McCain say about the ‘Tire Gauge’ plan anyway?

    Food for thought.

  • 17. cam  |  August 7th, 2008 at 6:45 pm

    Sunny,
You want McCain to tell us what his plans are rather than talk about Obama?

    Are you crazy?

Did you see how many people cared about what he has to say? An isle in the Kwik-e-mart is sufficient space for McCain to give a policy speech.

But talk about Obama and Parris and wham its a whole new story. At least the bottom feeders are there to cheer and give him the attention he craves and has sold his soul to Bush, I mean the devil, for.

  • 18. SEW  |  August 7th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

“Also, Obama?s plan included Drilling.” SAR

Ho, ho, ho! Which way was the political wind blowing that day? Next for Hussein, The surge, uh, cough, uh, worked, and if you’ll just check, I said that all along, uh, cough. Just like I said with, uh, yea, uh, cough, drilling.

  • 19. Some Assembly Required  |  August 7th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

LOL, you’ve go no rebuttal for his actual policy except for “FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP”.

You don’t get it do you. This is what Obama and his campaign are hoping for. You claim flip flop so in response someone mentions all the McCain flip flops (No new taxes, except social security, everything should be on the table). It proves you are holding a double standard with regard to your party and candidate.

Congratulations, you have played right into his hand hook line and sinker. The step to beating the current ‘republicans’, expose the 20% as the crack pots that they are. The other 80% are educated at least to at least a 6th grade level and will see it.

    Cheers mate

  • 20. Jeremiah  |  August 7th, 2008 at 9:48 pm

You don’t get it do you.

    Yes, I get it, SAR.

Obama has jumped all over the place…all the way from far left, to left, to left of center, to center, to right and back to the center and to the left again. He’s moved ten ways to Saturdee.

Obama’s hopes are that he can fool people on the right, will be convinced that he is in our field, and that he has “our” interests.

Just like a fishing plug, you take a piece of wood, carve it out, paint it up, and put two sets of treble hooks on it….that’s SIX hooks on one bait……..it’s artificial, and it will do nothing to serve the nutritional requirements of the predator fish. Now, in the case of Obama…….he’s got about 10 treble hooks hanging on his sleeves, that’s THIRTY different ways he can hook people.

What so many don’t realize, is when they get hooked and he reels them into land, there’s no escaping his fillet knife, because it’s all over then. People can squirm, thrash, and wiggle, but it ain’t gonna help. Total ANARCHY!!!!

He may even be our last President…..I believe wholeheartedly that he will cement America’s fate.

So we need to seriously pray for our next President, for if we don’t then the Lord could allow something to happen worse than what we may bear.

  • 21. SEW  |  August 7th, 2008 at 10:06 pm

SAR, you have swallowed Obama’s elixir hook, line and sinker. I am more amused by you cultists than the snake oil salesman himself. Check–Mate.

  • 22. keystoneRepublican  |  August 7th, 2008 at 10:56 pm

I’m already sick of Obama, have been for some months now.

    Canadian Observer,

It’s been a drawn out process because so many of the candidates announced their intentions very early, in 2006, and nearly half the states moved their primaries up.

  • 23. Jeremiah  |  August 7th, 2008 at 10:57 pm

    Oh, yes, I forgot…

    Mark, Matt…

This is very off topic, but I must ask this question…

Very good looking woman on the right hand of your screen…She seems to be winking at me…I’ll wink back… ;)

Who is she?….and how may she and I get in contact?

  • 24. Some Assembly Required  |  August 7th, 2008 at 11:07 pm

Ok SEW, I’ll bite. Exactly what does McCain propose to do that you think makes him more suitable to lead us in this modern age? Here’s a hint, this is a question that CHARACTER has nothing to do with. I want platforms. I want specific plans on what he proposes for healthcare, the war, social security, etc… I do not want a ‘tire gauge’ or some reference to Rev. Wright. In other words, your talking to an informed voter. Convince me.

Spare me the ‘elixir’ and ‘cultist’ meme. You need only look in the mirror to find guilt in those charges. You will not vote for Obama regardless. You have stated yourself you have participated in ‘Operation Chaos’. Do you not see that the labels you are applying to me are actually the ones which define you? Rush says jump, you say ‘off what bridge?’.

    23. Jeremiah | August 7th, 2008 at 10:57 pm

careful Jeremiah, she looks like the kind of girl that won’t wait for marriage. Don’t let the white shirt fool you. I bet she’s all kinds of freak…

  • 25. SEW  |  August 8th, 2008 at 11:22 am

“… I do not want a ‘tire gauge’ or some reference to Rev. Wright. In other words, your [sic] talking to an informed voter. Convince me.”

Of course you don’t want Rev. Wright referenced. Sweep it under the rug, right? Try this, just go to Hussein’s website. It “Changes” every few minutes, 180 degrees. At least you will discover what change you can beleive in means. That should convince you anyone but Obama. The socialist convinced me, not McCain.

  • 26. Some Assembly Required  |  August 8th, 2008 at 11:51 am

Thanks SEW, you have effectively proved my point. ‘Who cares what McCain will do, look at Obama.’ ‘Anyone but Obama’ I seem to remember the dems running in 2004 on ‘Anyone but Bush’ look how that turned out.

Sheesh, I give you opportunity to shed light on what McCain can do for the country and all you give me is ‘who cares, Obama is a flip flopper and a socialist’.

    ‘Check-mate’, your words not mine.
