nope. I am totally boycotting the media and the olympics because of China’s many many many issues that violate everything that I as a patriotic american hold dear. FREE TIBET! FREE CHINA! If you want to join me on boycotting the olympics follow me on twitter: straylightrise

China mandates one child per couple. Except for oddball bureaucratic exceptions, there are no brothers and no sisters in China.
China mandates abortions. China reaches it’s totalitarian hand into the wombs of married couples and kills their babies.
Hey Preznit, enjoy the Olympics. Hey Olympic Committee, thanks for selling out press freedoms and vaulting the great and mighty Chinese commies into the limelight, making a joke of democracies everywhere.

I almost feel obligated to post a few more times just to bump the “Gay Incest” posts off the”Recent Comments” links on the right.
I did figure out how to watch the Republitards talking about drilling ANWR while Congress is in recess: I just reach up and flip the power switch on my monitor to the “off” position. TADA! Instant Congressional Chambers simulator!
They’re still talking as if all the oil sucked out of ANWR would ONLY be sold to the U.S. and not on the open market for the sole profit of multinational oil conglomerates who have all offshored their operations to avoid paying ANYTHING to the U.S. for the privilege, while the profits ooze their way into the Bank of Dubai.
Ironically, since a barrel saved is a barrel earned, Obama’s “pump up the tires” jam would ACTUALLY save AMERICANS 4% of their gas bill, as much as a 4% increase in supply. A 4% reduction in demand would have a cascading effect, according to Econ 101, that would drive down gas prices even further. Demand down, prices down, really simple.
SUPER ironically, if Republicans USE those tire gauges and properly inflate their tires, the JOKE tire gauges with “Obama Energy Plan” written on the side would ACTUALLY save more gas than the total amount ANWR would bring to the world marketplace.
Wanna bet those joke tire gauges are made in China? The ironies just keep coming.
5. Danish Artist | August 8th, 2008 at 6:50 am
Hey conregressive,
Guess what! If we drill in ANWR and proper fill our tires we can save 8% at the pump!!!
If we drill in ANWR, the Continental Shelf and produce oil from the oil shale, and properly fill our tires the supply would increase further!!!!
Moron.
Ah, the simple-mindedness of the leftists.
6. Eric T | August 8th, 2008 at 7:05 am
congressive-
I checked my tires, but the gas price was still at about $4.00 a gallon.

Since this is an open thread, I would like to come back on a discussion we had a few weeks ago. I asked if you actually believed the war on terror had made you, as a country, safer.
You answered with a resounding YES.
I then pointed aout that many professional intelligence gatherers disagreed with you, and cited/linked to the iraq comission report from 2006.
You the laughed and said the situation had changed since then.
Well, apparently it did not change so much.
http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,173222,00.html?wh=wh
Military.com (and what a hotbed of liberalness must THAT site be) points to a a study released by randcorp (nonpartisan organisation) that can be found here (http://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/RB9351/index1.html) and that concludes that
now I ask again, do you feel safer now?
8. Timetested | August 8th, 2008 at 8:12 am
Although not final this is just in. And to think of all the un-American hate we had to hear from the likes of BFV, Faux News, Coulter, Hannity and Limbaugh for wanting to get out of Iraq and focus on Afghanistan. In the end Bush agrees to a timeline of his own for withdrawal from Iraq.
“The officials, who spoke separately on condition of anonymity because the talks are ongoing, said all U.S. combat troops would leave Iraq by October 2010, with the remaining support personnel gone “around 2013.”

…and produce oil from the oil shale,… - DA
Here we go again. This oil shale if developed will not reduce the cost of gas. It’s only economically viable when gas reaches a certain price at the pump. So you would develop it and gas would stay at $4 a gallon. It wouldn’t rise, it wouldn’t fall, it’d stay fairly constant until we ran out of shale. Not to mention the technologies currently available give moderate estimates of 3 - 6 years to start up. That is also not including the land and lease debates.
Drill all you want, but oil shale is nothing more then a useless talking point to mislead anyone who doesn’t know better.
(Emphasis Mine)

For a really interesting and viable solution check this out. This is the kind of innovation that we need to be moving towards. Not drilling or oil shale. If we could produce our own oil the free market price could be controlled and regulated at a constant price.

Of course you left out the fact that there would be an “Escape Clause” if security conditions warrant it. Do you enjoy being so deceitful by twisting or omitting words?
12. phnx | August 8th, 2008 at 8:29 am
Looks like Russia and Georgia are at war. The Georgians are going after the rebels in their break away province. ANd the Russians are reportedly bombing an air base outside Tiblisi. Two Russian Migs are reported tohave been shot down.
Do we really want to turn over the reigns of government to such a novice like B. Hussein? Community organization and 147 days in the Senate voting present on sensative issues is not a sign of leadership.

I believe the phrase was face saving “Escape Clause.” I stand corrected.
14. DM | August 8th, 2008 at 8:39 am
Of course the “face saving” portion wouldn’t have just been a MSM interjected phrase would it?

Do we really want to turn over the reigns of government to such a novice like B…?
Yes, he has proven to be so insightful McCain has started adopting many of his policies. After all the Repugs not once but twice gave us a failed owner of a major league baseball team and oil company who liked to tip a few in his day. Who isn’t a success in the oil and major league baseball industry? These failures should have been the first clues for the Repugs he would also make a mess of the country. And now you want Americans to trust Republicans yet a third time with our nation’s precarious future in the balance?
16. Timetested | August 8th, 2008 at 8:47 am

And “Escape Clause” wasn’t; the whole article was nothing more than MSM or corporate media phrases, since they were not at the meeting.
17. DM | August 8th, 2008 at 8:53 am
”… nothing more than MSM or corporate media phrases, since they were not at the meeting.” Timetested
But you felt it was worthwhile to use as a twist against Bush as “finally agree to something he was against all along”. Your earlier post seems kind of empty and hollow now.

Quote from Repug and alleged comedian Ben Stein at Spectator.org. “It is downright disgusting coming from a porn star (Paris Hilton) — and not a very good porn star at that yes, I have seen the tape. (I hope he watched it with two hands on the table.) And we especially don’t like being told how to vote by porn stars. If this is the best the Hollywood pals of Barack Obama can do, maybe John McCain has more of a shot than I thought he did.”
Even Paris Hilton is now seen as a threat to the neocons and must be swift-boated. But Stein is one up on me since I have not seen the tape. What a joke the Republican Party has become.

Actually, a lot of Republicans (myself included) think her energy plan is substantially better than Obama’s. OTOH, their intellects and political experience ARE similar.
21. Retired Spook | August 8th, 2008 at 9:34 am
How about this for a bumper sticker:
Barack Obama — 144 more days Senate experience than Paris Hilton.
22. DM | August 8th, 2008 at 9:40 am
The current 110th Congress has passed a dismal 260 laws. How does that stack up? Well considering that 74 of those laws have been seen as the highest of importance to the US citizens - to rename post offices and a good many others that do little or nothing to enhance quality of life does anyone not see why their approval ratings are in the toilet?
23. SEW | August 8th, 2008 at 10:15 am
“Ironically, since a barrel saved is a barrel earned, Obama’s “pump up the tires” jam would ACTUALLY save AMERICANS 4% of their gas bill”
Congressive
A lie and delusional. Congressive, why don’t you just state we could save 20% by converting CO2 into gasoline? Everyone is driving around with flat tires? Just another lie and so transparent.
24. Some Assembly Required | August 8th, 2008 at 10:22 am
So McCain agrees with this ‘lie’. Opps. How about turning off the lights for 5 minutes everyday? Or that Gas tax holiday. Are they delusional ideas too?
Time to send an e-mail to Rush to see what he thinks.
25. Rose McGehee | August 8th, 2008 at 10:32 am
why is it that when ever a dem comes in the room
the mean talk starts up. I have been reading blogs
for a couple hours now and the dem are always very rude and don’t really no very much about what they are saying. If Oboma is like that we don’t need him in office and we don’t need to here from people who cannot show respect for our beleifs. may god be with you every day
26. Rasmus | August 8th, 2008 at 10:58 am
Rose,
When there are no dems in the debate the Republicans are happy. Everyone is agreeing with each other about everything. No one questions if Bush is the best president ever, and everyone knows Dick Cheney is really a nice guy who is just misunderstood. Of cause the arguments don’t really start until the dems start entering the debate, but I have to disagree with you. I certainly don’t think that this is one sited. I believe both sides occasionally get carried away and say rude things to each other.
May your God also be with you everyday Rose
Rasmus

Well then get Stein the memo. In a Fascist state the propaganda message can be but one.
29. Rasmus | August 8th, 2008 at 11:24 am
Is anyone up for the challenge of explaining silly little me what McCain’s energy policy is?
He seems to have an Obama fixation because he talks of nothing else.
30. Some Assembly Required | August 8th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Rose, I believe a lot of it has to do with the title and content of some of the threads. When there are gross mis-representations (from both sides) tempers tend to rise. Both sides are guilty of this but there is also reasonable debate that goes on here. I do not believe what you do, but I will not fault or judge you for it.
SEW, the 4% is a lie? Where’s your proof of this allegation? Still waiting for McCain’s energy policy from you. That’s what McCain will do, not what Obama is/was/had for dinner.
31. SEW | August 8th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
“SEW, the 4% is a lie? Where’s your proof of this allegation”

“Only 44.6 % of the nation’s 21 million barrel per day need for oil is used for gasoline. At anytime only 23% of drivers have one or more tires deflated by 20% which is the threshhold to reach a 4% inefficiency factor. The nation uses 9.6 million barrels per day for gasoline of which 2.2 million are used by the 23% with low tire pressure wasting 88,000 barrels(4%) which is only 0.42% of the nations daily usage. Obama’s numbers are off tenfold!”
Now spin the facts so that .42% equals 4%.
33. clark smith | August 8th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
The first three comments are about the topic at hand, and then “Congressive” (comment #4) hijacked the thread and effectively flushed it down the toilet. Nice work! (NOT!)
As for the Chicom Olympics, I’m absolutely boycotting them. I’m steering clear of ESPN and other news sources covering the Olympics until the farcical games are over and done.

RoseMcGehee,
The Democrats, at leas the ones who post here, and especially the likes of Nancy Pelosi, George Soros, which is a Devil, Harry Reid, and oooh so many more are filled with hatred….they cannot see, and they don’t even know that they cannot see…that’s how blind they are.
I have to be careful, because their hatred starts to rub off….and that’s a tactic of Satan….he wants to get us all upset and angry and try to make us hate back.
So, what I do, I look the devil square in the eyes, and I say … ‘you ain’t gonna get no place with me….now get thee behind me, you snake.’
And so I go and turn that anger into doing something positive, like prayer and then go for a walk. Because these reprobate liberals aren’t worth the time of day.
God bless!
