Yep, all those Democrats agree that a vote for McCain is a vote for a Bush third term.

“Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience and Obama has a speech he gave in 2002″.

“He can work with Democrats on key issues…..he’s worked with us.”

just to name two examples, to hear them now…..

either now or then they were lying. Which is it?

Of course, that was then, this is now.

What is extremely ironic about McCain is that it was the liberals who voted en masse in the GOP New Hampshire primary that gave McCain the edge on securing the nomination. Without that critical vote bloc, Romney or Huckabee probably walk away with the nomination, and would most likely be behind Obama by double digits.

Now, the liberals are desperately trying to paint the “maverik” and independent McCain as a “typical” republican, while at the same time nominating the most unelectable politician in history.

Democrats just have an uncanny ability to screw things up and God Bless them for it.

    Deleted - off topic.

I would be very interesting in having the dates and context of the quotes in the video (I can remember the context of Hillary’s: she was going negative while trying to beat Obama in the race for the Democratic nomination).

Are the Democrats in the video supporting the 2006 John McCain, who consistently opposes the 2008 John McCain? Because if they are, then they’re actually opposing the current incarnation of McCain. I know it’s a little hard to follow, but with McCain changing positions so frequently and so dramatically, we need to remember which McCain we (and others) are talking about at any given time.

    yekept,

That seems to be an on-going liberal problem. Trying to remember what they said when and in what context.

Why do liberals always have to explain what they said and/or apologize for it? It’s comical. Democrats currently have the most ineffective, inexperienced and intellectually challenged leadership in history. Obama, Dean, Pelosi and Reid are all frauds, charlatans and a blessing for the GOP.

    Hi Neocon,

Remembering context is pretty important, don’t you think?

Especially when the Republicans insist on taking quotes out of context to “prove” a point that is more often than not the exact opposite of what the speaker intended.

Why do Republicans want everyone to ignore context and dates when they quote people? Gee, I wonder . . .

    >>>>Why do Republicans want everyone to ignore context and dates when they quote people? Gee, I wonder . . .>>>>

    You mean like this?

One can see for oneself on the Trinity United Church
website, which is replete with confirmation of what I
present here. What follows is an excerpt from their Mission
    Statement:

“We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and
Unapologetically Christian… Our roots in the Black
religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and
permanent. We are an African people, and remain “true to
our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of
civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through
the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long
night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and
courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and
as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God
through cultural expression of a Black worship service and
ministries which address the Black Community.

“Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value
System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee
chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the
following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These
Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes,
churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are
gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

    1. Commitment to God
    2. Commitment to the Black Community
    3. Commitment to the Black Family
    4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
    5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
    6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
    7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
    8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
    9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired
skills available to the Black Community
    10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal
Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black
    Institutions
    11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse
and embrace the Black Value System
    12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value
    System.”

    neocon,
Perhaps the need to explain everything we say is that when we speak to conservatives we assume a certain level of comprehansion. But it turns out that even a minimum level of comprehension is beyond your grasp. Further, you are so intent to distort that, even e use clear direct language you will always end up in muddy water of your own making.

“Perhaps the need to explain everything we say is that when we speak to conservatives we assume a certain level of comprehansion.”

    Comprehansion -> Comprehension

When you speak, we conservatives, assume you have a level of intelligence. If that were the case you would not have to explain everything you say - so try to write something above a 5th grade level.

  • 15. cam  |  August 11th, 2008 at 1:15 am

    Pastry Chef,
Next time I will try to use spell checker. Or maybe I shouldn’t. If I correct any typos you won’t have anything.

  • 16. Danish Artist  |  August 11th, 2008 at 6:18 am

    Sorry Cam,

If you use spell checker, it won’t help. You still need a miniscule level of intelligence and write above a 5th grade level.

Once you start ignoring talking points then you may have a chance.

Is there something wrong with a people who have been subjected to slavery — slavery! — gathering together in Christ and building a Christian community that acknowledges their struggle, supports their goals, and provides hope and inspiration through the belief in Jesus Christ as Savior?

Geez, you guys are a tough crowd! What would Jesus do?

  • 18. Henry J.  |  August 14th, 2008 at 4:44 am

…Okay. What is this supposed to prove? If anything, it’s showing them to be far the ‘bigger men,’ taken out of context - but, we wouldn’t have a problem with that, would we? - than McCain himself, especially recently.

It still doesn’t really amount to anything. Hey, guys! They have mutual respect for the guy! Let’s vote for him! What?
