Now’s The Time, Joe… Caucus With Republicans

August 14th, 2008 at 03:39am Matt Margolis

Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi blasted Joe Lieberman for being critical of Barack Obama, and appears to be threatening to strip him of his committee chairmanship

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted Sen. Joe Lieberman today for making what she called “totally irresponsible” remarks about Democrat Barack Obama, which she warned could prompt Senate Democrats to strip him of his committee chairmanship.

Here’s the answer: Joe, caucus with Republicans. Majority control will switch, you’ll certainly get to keep your chairmanship, and you won’t be blackmailed anymore.

Think about it.

The majority switch would only last a few months. not enought ot save Bush’s legacy from the toilet.

and besides, Joe is pro choice, how dare you people invite him to your cozy tent of hatred, death, war, blood, ignorance and fear ?

The biggest problem I see with what you’re suggesting is that Lieberman is a life-long Liberal. Except for his stance on the war and national security, he doesn’t agree with the GOP on much of anything. In terms of voting record, he ranks in the top half, maybe the top third of Dems. Were he to switch, he would rank as THE most liberal on the GOP side — no one else would even be close. He’d redefine the term “RINO”.

All that said, I like Joe. He at least isn’t nasty and condescending like most of the other Donks.

Pelosi also chastised some of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s supporters for being “less than gracious” toward Obama.

I guess free speech is not allowed when it comes to criticizing the Messiah.

    Chuckles:

‘chastizing’ is not the same as being fired and having your entire career destroyed, which is what has happened to every single member of the Bush administartion who has had the gall to crticize the chosen one over the last 7+ years.

Research has recently revealed that the media’s coverage of Obama is about 72% NEGATIVE. Looks like plenty of criticism of Obama is taking place, so calm down bud.

Obama may appear as the Messiah to you folks, but trust me, he will not be getting 8 years of blind support from Democrats because that’s not how the Constitution says the system is supposed to work. There’s a lot to be said for Checks & Balances because when it does not exist, all Hell breaks loose as this administration has so painfully demonstarted.

Joe Lieberman ran with Al Gore in 2000, It’s good that he see’s that Barack just ain’t the right guy to take over when George W’s term is up. You can’t blame him for politically maturing and leaving the Democrat party either.

But Joe on the GOP VP list? That might just take the GOP way too far to the left. All the regulars might stay home, giving Barack + the Dims a win.
it would be like McCain/Gore or McCain/Obama or McCain/Clinton.

So, the blind support you Obamacrats current exhibit is just temporary? Interesting.

Peolosi is the biggest dictator in the government today. She “streamlines” issues that she wants so that votes are not required, blackmails people that don’t do her bidding, and allows no vote on ideas that oppose her own. Reid has shown himself to be nothing more that her puppet so by proxy she is controlling the direction of all congress.

Remember, a vote for Obama is a vote to take away the the threat of veto for Pelosi, the most liberal democrat in the house.

    Paris Hilton For Prez
Seriously we gotta get this girl on the ticket in close race states. Organize write in campaigns via Youtube etc.
Young, naive disaffected voters who lean away from O the more they know but can’t vote for an old geezer should be encouraged to vote Paris or even Nader. Even a few thousand numbskulls could swing a state.

    Spook:

As you well know, I was talking about blind support from CONGRESS, rubberstamping everything the Prez says and does without any debate or dissent.

It’s those 7+ years of blind support from the GOP majority that will be costing Republicans their jobs throughout America this November. They’re all running away from that record as fast as they can right now but they’re running in quicksand.

the Dems WILL eventually fall into the same trap and become just as corrupt, COUNT ON IT. Maybe then the GOP can make a comeback, but we will all be old and gray when that happens.

Pelosi does not control the Senate.

  • 12. Nevada Pundit  |  August 14th, 2008 at 12:09 pm

Oh come on Khan, everytime Pelosi says anything you can see the dashboard figure of Reid with the bobbing head standing right behind her.

08ama, what you say is partially right (though it pains me to say it). The senate, congress, and presidency was set up as a balance of power, any time any party hold all three then there will be problems because that balance is tipped. Realistically the best thing that can happen to the dems as a whole is for McCain to get elected while holding on to congress, otherwise the liberal extremists will find themselves on an uphill battle next time around. Only with the balance of power is extremism on either side checked. Remember, the government really shouldn’t be able to do anything……unless it is really really important.

    Nevada:

I think true patriots all agree, the same party controlling both houses of Congress and the WH with big majorities is not a good formula for the American people. I believe that every President should have people of the opposite party somewhere in the adminsitration.

I hope that if Obama wins, he has at least one or 2 Republicans in his cabinet. Extreme partisanship, like the kind the Bush administartion has demonstarted since day 1, is just not healthy for America. The proof is in the puddin’ we find ourselves in.

    Arcman..

I am smoking some funny stuff but worry not, I’m not inhaling.

To bad Hagel is retiring. A Liberal Hagel, Specter, Lieberman coalition working within the GOP to rid it of the Neocon and evangelical influence might be a good thing for the country.
