More of The Same “More of The Same”
August 25th, 2008 at 08:29pm Matt Margolis
in the few minutes I tuned into the Democratic National Convention, I heard the same old talking points we’ve been hearing over the past year. It seems to me that the only people are offering more of the same are the Democrats… of course, they claim to be the party of change… well, we’ve seen their “change” over the past two years, and there’s a reason why the Democratic majority has the lowest approval rating congress has ever had in history.
Meanwhile, recommended viewing and reading for the evening:
POLITICO: Praise of McCain could haunt Biden
WSJ: Scrutiny of Biden Focuses On Lobbyist Ties, Family
AOL: Biden’s Son A Partner in D.C. Lobbying Firm
DP: Obama’s VP pick hardly inspiring
AP: Obama seeks to silence ad tying him to 60s radical (click here for the ad)
UPDATE: On Michelle Obama’s speech… It’s pretty sad when Democrats try to play the “we have family values” card.

UPDATE: Even watching clips… Michelle Obama’s pro-military, pro-America and family values rhetoric sounds phony.

When McCain votes with Bush 95% of the time, how is he not the same? What does McCain differ with Bush on today?

That video could have been part of a very effective movement to recruit Hillary supporters. Unfortunately there is McCain’s silly smile after the “How do we beat the bitch?” moment in one of his town halls, and the countdown is on to see how soon we see that in an Obama ad. Hard to believe the campaign respects either Clinton or her supporters after letting that line go unchallenged.

You got that right, just the wrong week.
Next week we will hear big oil, the mortgage industry, land speculators off the Louisiana and Mississippi post Katrina coast, health insurers and Iraq war profiteers sing “FOUR MORE YEARS! FOUR MORE YEARS!

Here’s Michelle Obama backstage in Denver getting her run-through for her speech tonight - with the kids tagging along. I know you all here think she’s some kind of America hating witch, but if you can watch this (it’s only a minute and a half) and still think she deserves talk like that, well I just don’t understand what kind of Americans you are.

wow… you think showing people a video produced to make her look good is gonna make us forget her anti-American quotes of the past?

I am an independent voter, and my key concern in this election is that if we have 4 years with Obama as our president it will be much worse than 8 years with George W. Bush.

I wonder if the star of McCain’s ad will still support him when she learns he wants to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Margolis says: “It’s pretty sad when Democrats try to play the “we have family values” card.”
What a self-righteous, arrogant, un-American thing to say. Just shameless.

Let us see what the Bush/McCain policies have brought us. Turned a budget surplus into a deficit, added about 4 trillion dollars to the debt, kept the cost of the Iraq war off budget, did nothing for social security or Medicare crisis, big insurance are making the health care rules, inflation is on the rise, cost of gasoline has almost tripled, average Americans are put out on the streets because of foreclosures, a FEMA system that is broken, loss of American prestige around the world, involvement in an endless civil war where the Iraqis wont even help pay for the reconstruction and are about to show their gratitude by demanding a time line for the US to get out.
Your claim is neither plausible nor possible!

Margolis says: “It’s pretty sad when Democrats try to play the “we have family values” card.”
So you are saying that only Republicans have real family values? That all of those Americans who go to work everyday, raise and educate their children, contribute their communities, pay their taxes, believe in the same God as Republican believe in do not have family values? And just when did you get the nod from God to judge others as to their values? No ego problems for you.

What a scummy, despiscable thing to say.
Get off your high horse and open your eyes. What a pathetic comment.

And apparently McCain and Cindy live quite separate lives anyway, whereas it is quite clear that the Obama’s are a close, loving family.
But somehow you have to be Republican to love your family. What a piece of shit thing to say Margolis.
