She is the governor of a state and hence the head of it’s National Guard. Quite literally, it’s commander-in-chief unless nationalized.
That M4 she was shooting is shorter than the M16A1 I learned on. But I have three semi-auto AR-15’s that me and the kids enjoy shooting. Cans of Barbasol are the best. They look cool when they explode. And they make the range smell kinda nice. My eight year old loves shooting them.

Kahn, I envy you the guns, and the space to practice firing them. I do not own any guns, simply because I do not have a place to safely practice firing them, and I believe it would be irresponsible to own a gun I had not fired regularly.
There are only three basic test a repug must meet in order to be a candidate for office; be against abortion in word only, be able to fire an assult weapon and be able to declare war on another country while eating your salad.
Currently Palin meets the first two and Steve Doocy on Fox imply she is ready to pull the trigger on Russia if they try to pull anything up there near Alaska.
To add to What? in 4. Before you get giddy about a VP using an assult weapon; remember if Dick Cheney had an assult weapon instead of a shot gun when he shot his friend in the face his friend would probably be dead. Sorry could not resist the reality.

Unlike most on this board and even though we agree on little politically, I do respect and process your opinions………..under that preamble, please answer me this.
How can anyone justify the post-shooting behaviors of this hunting party.
Beyond the fact that the victim was brought to a less equipped hospital many miles away. How can you explain away the fact that local deputies were stopped at the gate and not allowed to get even a witness statement from the VP et al. They weren’t allowed access to the shooter for 15 hours after arrival. You and I wouldn’t have been afforded the opportunity to “get ourselves together.”

I don’t recall ever seeing actual proof of the allegations you make about what transpired after the accident (and , yes, as a former bird hunter, I do believe it was an accident). My recollection, just as with the case of past McCain crude jokes, Bush’s asserting that the Constitution is just a GD piece of paper, etc., is that there were assertions made on left-wing blogs and questionable, biased news sources describing what you allege. I never saw any actual interviews with deputies, heard any 911 call recordings or saw any copies of Sheriff’s Department incident reports.
If you have some actual proof, let’s see it (or hear it). It may very well have happened exactly as you say. It wouldn’t be the first time a powerful politician did such a thing. Another time that comes to mind is when a young woman died in the back of a powerful Senator’s Oldsmobile — not wounded in the face with birdshot — DIED! Let me know how that all worked out. Oh, wait — he’s still a powerful Senator 39 years later.

Believe it or not – there’s been a run on guns and ammunition lately just in case Obama gets elected. We remember the Clinton Gun Ban.
By the way, THAT ban cost you at least three states last two times around. Ignore us if you want to, we’ll just vote against you.
But the three AR-15’s are all different. I am really into 1905 model Smith and Wesson revolvers. They are commonly called M&P’s. Though they make modern semi-autos that are also called M&P’s. You’ve seen them in countless detective and cops & robbers movies.
The fact that you don’t think I need them and don’t want me to have them is was of the priciple reasons I vote Republican. Your choice.
