Are the Mainstream Media on the Obama Payroll?
by Kevin Patrick on August 31st, 2008 at 06:37pm
If not, why is the Obama campaign banking on the MSM do do all the dirty work to misrepresent Sarah Palin?
We all know of the media’s biased and unprofessional support for the Obama campaign. But is the media so “in the tank” for Obama that his campaign can leave Palin alone, confident that the MSM will rough her up? Apparently so.
Here is political strategist Mike Murphy on today’s Meet the Press in discussing the Obama campaign’s clumsy first attempts at roughing up Palin:
I talked with top Obama’s strategists who was like we’ve got to be very careful about this because they’re expecting the press to go make Sarah Palin famous in a bad way and they’d be very happy with that.
What a relief! The Obama campaign feels it can rest assured that the mainstream media will do its part to misrepresent Palin “in a bad way.” And to no ones surprise, this comment raised not one eye-brow among the panelists.

Who was “like”????
Are they hiring valley girls? maybe their more closely related to Paris Hilton than we think.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:04 pm
I think kimberly, that the Obama camps thinks that because Mrs. Palin in their minds is so unqualified that the press will come to that conclusion as well and will pick her apart without them having to do anything. That is probably a smart strategy, at first see if she can handle the hot lights of a national campaign, if she can’t then the press will eat her up without Obama having to get nasty. If she is able to handle herself well then Obama will have a real problem on his hands.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:10 pm
Jerry … obviously, you don’t watch how the MSM gushes and gurgles over Obama. Meet the Press used to be a very respectful and unbiased show with Tim Russert (RIP). It has gone way to the left with Tom Brokaw. Watch the videos on the link. They don’t even hide their left-sided opinions anymore.
IMHO, I believe Sarah Palin will show these biased jerkoffs that she can handle anything they throw at her. She’s tough as nails.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:12 pm
She could certinly handle anything jerry could throw at her.
Great comment by jerry though, it reveals such a sycophant idolaztion of Obama that I think Jon Stewart was right.
They all want to have sex with him. How about you jerry?

Some of the press, like MSNBC should come under the control of campaign finance reform laws.
Before you leftists respond with FOX, be aware that independent studies and Democrats including the Clinton’s say FOX IS the MOST fair and balanced.
But clearly, MSNBC and to a lesser extent NBC are in effect free advertising for Obama and as such must be accounted for as donations or forbidden from mentioning the candidates on the air once the black out period begins.
These ludicrous laws can’t just be imposed on the Republicans. Much as I despise them, there they are. Clearly MSNBC has ceased functioning as a news organization.

REALLY!!???!?!?!?!?!
Cause that’s not what Clinton said when Chris Wallace interviewed him. He laid that guy and his network out ON CAMERA for be a right wing shill.
It’s just so sad how you “embellish” Kahn.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Kahn: I quit watching MSNBC. My remote control NEVER goes to their channel. CNN finally learned their lesson - they are becoming less biased - not quite as fair as FOX but at least they are learning. Liberals can’t stand the fact that FOX shows both views. If they had their way, all channels would only show their view. It’s that pesky Freedom of Speech that gets in the way of their goal.
Thank God for the Internet.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:35 pm
In a surprising admission, Hillary Clinton says Fox News Channel has actually been fairer to her presidential campaign than liberal MSNBC.
Clinton stated in an interview that aired on station WJLA in Washington, D.C., that her staff had delivered to her “some independent study” suggesting that “in terms of the fairness of the coverage,” Fox has treated her campaign more fairly than MSNBC.
Clinton was responding to a question from politico.com’s John Harris about MSNBC’s David Shuster, who was suspended last week for saying that Hillary’s daughter Chelsea had been “pimped out” by the Clinton campaign by asking her to phone superdelegates on her mother’s behalf.
Clinton said: “I really am troubled by this pattern of behavior and comments that you hear on MSNBC.”
Hillary has sent a letter to the president of NBC criticizing what she called a “troubling pattern of demeaning treatment” of her campaign by the network’s cable arm.
“I thought that Fox’s coverage during the primary was comprehensive and fair and evenhanded,” Mr. Wolfson said Monday in a telephone interview from Liverpool, England, where he was vacationing. “It’s a huge audience, and it is important to have a strong, progressive voice on the network.” - Howard Wolfson

Kimmers-
Faux News shows both sides……90% screen time from conservatives and 10% to middle of the road lukewarm Democrats. Quite Unfair and Unbalanced. That’s why you Fundicons luv that network so much.
Don’t try to debate on the fairness of the media cause I really couldn’t give a sh@t if you’re unhappy with how your side gets portrayed in the predominate media.
In the end the media chases green.
Maybe you guys should start paying for favorable coverage again like you’ve been caught doing in the past.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:41 pm
It’s that pesky Freedom of Speech that gets in the way of their goal.
Kimberly, I know you’re saying that at least half tongue-in-cheek, but if Obama is elected and gets a veto-proof Congressional majority, the first thing we’ll get is the “Fairness Doctrine”, followed by a national speech code, after which, my guess would be some kind of civil war.
Let’s just elect McCain-Palin. I’m too old to fight in a civil war.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:41 pm
neocon-
How was I being sychophantic? Because I think Mrs. Palin who has never been scrutinzed by the national media and doesn’t even seem to have an interest in foreign policy may have a hard time convincing the media that she is ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. You are really a funny partisan. I would have sex with an Obama but not Barry, Michelle grrrrrrrr.

RS: You don’t need to warn me about the Fairness Doctrine. Nancy “I want five weeks vacation to get a facelift before the convention” Pelosi has stated she wants to get that passed asap.

From nads.org:
Down syndrome is usually caused by an error in cell division called nondisjunction. It is not known why this occurs. However, it is known that the error occurs at conception and is not related to anything the mother did during pregnancy. It has been known for some time that the incidence of Down syndrome increases with advancing maternal age. However, 80% of children with Down syndrome are born to women under 35 years of age.
August 31st, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Kimberly,
Thanks for addressing the obvious but there was really no need. Afterall, we are talking about two people that lack the IQ to light a pilot light.
And I was hoping that they would continue to devolve into the conspiracy. It’s like watching a train wreck.
August 31st, 2008 at 9:47 pm
The risk of Down syndrome increases from about 1 in 1,250 at age 25, to 1 in 1,000 at age 30, 1 in 400 at age 35, 1 in 100 at age 40 and 1 in 30 at age 45 (6). Women over age 35 have been traditionally considered most likely to have a baby with Down syndrome.
August 31st, 2008 at 9:59 pm
The only reason these are lingering questions is because you lefties want the religious right to go against Palin. However, your ridiculous conspiracy will fall flat on it’s face. The fact that they kept the baby and didn’t MURDER him is what the religious right cares about.

It was taken, and published, by the Anchorage Daily News in 2006. Baby Trig, a Down’s Syndrome child, was born on April 18, 2008. That’s a long time for a teen girl to be carrying a “bump” which looks nothing more than the curve of a tight sweater.”
What a bunch of low-life morons.

September 1st, 2008 at 3:01 am
I think a better question to ask is “Is Obama on the Mainstream Media’s Payroll” I get the impression that instead of following marcing orders, they are protecting their investment…
September 1st, 2008 at 3:15 am
I have to admit a degree of amazement at this rumor. If Palin says it is her baby, then it is. End of story. Moreover, my experience with mongoloids suggests that she has years of pleasure ahead of her raising and nurturing what will certainly be a loving and amazing human being.
Having said that, I question what is going on in the hearts of some of the regulars with whom I have interacted here. I’m talking about Spook who vacillates between respectful disagreement and references to the second amendment which presage Americans killing Americans. I’m talking about Neocon who usually engages passionately but always engages. I’m talking about Phnx who wondered how I was doing when I was offline for a week or so after being driven out by the witch fire in SoCal.
Do any of you see the connection between this despicable lie and the claims that Obama is a Muslim, that he was educated in madrassas, that he took the oath of office on a Quran or that he is the anitChrist as prophesied in the bible? Do any of you wonder what this bipartisan hate is doing to political discourse in this country?
Before any of you claim that leftwing hate is pervasive and right wing hate is rare, I have received numerous emails broadcast to the address books of friends containing the Obama lies. I have only seen the Palin garbage here. Is anyone willing to start a movement of respectful disagreement? WWJD?

Just how well was Sarah Palin vetted, anyway? Check out the “Bridge to Nowhere.” Seems she was for it before she was against it.
http://www.reuters.com/article/vcCandidateFeed7/idUSN3125537020080901?sp=true
In the city Ketchikan, the planned site of the so-called “Bridge to Nowhere,” political leaders of both parties said the claim was false and a betrayal of their community, because she had supported the bridge and the earmark for it secured by Alaska’s Congressional delegation during her run for governor…
“People are learning that she pandered to us by saying, I’m for this’ … and then when she found it was politically advantageous for her nationally, abruptly she starts using the very term that she said was insulting,” [Ketchikan mayor] Bob Weinstein said…
The state, however, never gave back any of the money that was originally earmarked for the Gravina Island bridge, said Weinstein and Elerding.
In fact, the Palin administration has spent “tens of millions of dollars” in federal funds to start building a road on Gravina Island that is supposed to link up to the yet-to-be-built bridge, Weinstein said.
“She said ‘thanks but no thanks,’ but they kept the money,” said Elerding about her applause line…
September 1st, 2008 at 7:29 am
Uh, Dennis, Obama supported and voted in favor of the earmark for the bridge to nowhere.
The Coburn Amendment to HR 3058, which would have diverted funds from the “bridge to nowhere” project to New Orleans to repair the I-10 twin span across Lake Ponchartrain that was damaged by Hurricane Katrina, was voted down by Barak Obama.
Barak Obama voted for tabling the amendment and keeping the funds earmarked for the bridge to nowhere.
Secondly, if the lawmakers of the state of Alaska wish to build a bridge to nowhere that’s their business and they will answer to their voters.
So, on a state level - Palin if she did support the bridge was inclined to do so by the voters of her state. On the other hand, the earmark scandal was supported by one Barak Hussein Obama. The higher scandal is on the fed side along with Ted Stevens and the Democrats who voted to keep the earmark in place.

Thrower,
Are you aware that there is a lawsuit filed in Philadelphia by a Dem Party functionary to prevent Obama from taking office because he is not an natural born US citizen?
I look at all of this as rumor until its proven. Notice that McCain has come out against these rumors about Obama. Obama has yet to denounce the atttacks on the Palin family.
There is a difference with the attacks at the Palin family. They are directed at a Downs Syndrome child and a teenage daugther in an effort to smear Palin. Its a dispicable ploy that will hopefully backfire on the left. I would imagine that there are many, especially women, who will take serious offense to this sort of tactic.
BTW, seems like with the fire, the rain, and the earthquakes you guys can’t catch a break out there.

NIP, yes - harder to prove. The statements must have certain wording. Can you prove some cases? Have you filed any complaints?
Meanwhile, MSNBC publicly states that they are for Obama. When Palin was announced. the banner on MSNBC read “Breaking news: How many houses will this ass to the Republican ticket?” An obvious carry forward of the Obama how many houses talking point.
Again, you complain about the churches if yoiu want to. I’m trying to figure out how to file an official complaint about MSNBC and how to get their Press “credentials” pulled. Then my friend, the campaign finance laws kick in. And every minute of coverage becomes chargeable against the Obama campaign or they can’t mention either candidate by name at all for the black out period.
Don’t you know anything about the crazy laws we passed?

I’m talking about Spook who vacillates between respectful disagreement and references to the second amendment which presage Americans killing Americans.
thrower, I’m passionate about the Second Amendment. It’s “Second”, right behind Freedom of speech and religion for a reason. Without the public’s ability to throw off a tryanical government, by force if necessary, none of the rest of it (the Constitution and Bill of Rights) means very much.
I love this country a lot, and I do get emotional when I see one political party advocate taking this country in a direction that’s diametrically opposed to the things that I believe make this country great. Unlike Liberals, many of whom threatened to move out of the country if Bush was elected (or reelected), I would stay and fight for what I believe in. Taking up arms against my fellow countrymen is not something I look forward to, nor would it be likely that I would fire the first shot.
The political Left in this country has an almost total monopoly on violence as a political tactic, certainly in the last half century. If you’re not part of the mindset that wants this country to veer sharply to the left, then I suggest you stay out of the way, because, believe me, there are a lot of us who will not allow that to happen.

Factcheck, having the media against you is NOT a small thing. It is a major thing.
Well, I’ll say this much for ya, Kahn: I didn’t expect that you would be defending Obama like that. You certainly surprised me with the above quote.
But you still retain your comical ability to jump to “this is just like the Nazis!” at the drop of a hat, so at least some things about you remain consistent.

Obama Says Palin Pregnancy “Off Limits”
by Bonney Kapp
Barack Obama addressed a gaggle of reporters this afternoon to discuss the latest goings-on with Hurricane Gustav. After brief opening comments on the much-hyped, overly politicized hurricane, reporters were curious about one thing: 17-year-old Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, made public today.
“I have heard some of the news on this and so let me be a clear as possible: I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics,” the Democrat said forcefully. “It has no relevance to Governor Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a VP. And so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories,” he continued.
The candidate who himself was born to a teenage mom, reminded reporters, “You know my mother had me when she was 18, and how a family deals with issues and you know teenage children, that shouldn’t be the topic of our politics and I hope that anybody who is supporting me understands that’s off limits.”
When asked about an “unnamed McCain advisor” accusing the Obama campaign of spreading despicable rumors surrounding Bristol Palin online, Obama interrupted the reporter mid-question. “I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us,” he said directly. “Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that - they’d be fired,” he added.

Catfish, and you disagree with this? The minor child of a political candidate is fair game. F*CK YOU
Stop the hatred you dip. In your sleezy squirming mind, I’m sure you think you’re justified. But know what? You’re not. You’re scum.
Attacking children now for political gain.
Attacking children now
Attacking children
Just to boil it down for you.

1. Obama challenges the 2nd Amendment … The Right To Bear Arms.
2. Obama challenges the 1st Amendment … The right of Free Speech.
Obama pressures all media who accepts NRA advertising.
3. Obama wants a Civil National Security Force … with the same budget as the Pentagon.
So, Obama does not want any opposition, so he stops Freedom of Speech.
Then, to make any opposition defenseless, he wants to take away our right to bear arms.
Next, he wants a Civil National Security force to put down any insurrection.
Sounds like the stepping stones to a leftist dictator taking over this country.
