Are the Mainstream Media on the Obama Payroll?

If not, why is the Obama campaign banking on the MSM do do all the dirty work to misrepresent Sarah Palin?

We all know of the media’s biased and unprofessional support for the Obama campaign. But is the media so “in the tank” for Obama that his campaign can leave Palin alone, confident that the MSM will rough her up? Apparently so.

Here is political strategist Mike Murphy on today’s Meet the Press in discussing the Obama campaign’s clumsy first attempts at roughing up Palin:

I talked with top Obama’s strategists who was like we’ve got to be very careful about this because they’re expecting the press to go make Sarah Palin famous in a bad way and they’d be very happy with that.

What a relief! The Obama campaign feels it can rest assured that the mainstream media will do its part to misrepresent Palin “in a bad way.” And to no ones surprise, this comment raised not one eye-brow among the panelists.

Kevin was an active blogger during the last presidential campaign for BlogforBush.com before retiring to his regular Wall Street job. Although generally uninspired during this current campaign (save a general despondence over the likely Obama victory), Mr. Patrick picked up the blogging bug once again thanks to the absolutely amazing pick of Sarah Palin for Vice-President. He's now tanned, rested and ready to do whatever it takes to bring the real change agents to the White House: McCain-Palin 2008!

Factcheck, having the media against you is NOT a small thing. It is a major thing. But there are are severe First Amendment restricting laws that have been upheld by the Supreme Court in regards to speech during campaigns. It appears that some of the press may have lost their first amendment rights by their blatant partisanship.

I say, let the courts decide.

  2. Kahn says:

You mean the way FOX reported the rumor (as a rumor) and then reported that it was false? You mean that Pain?

Meanwhile – you’re right in there attacking a sixteen year old girl. You are, and you’re scum. GFY

Let’s also go after those tax exempt Fundamentalist mega churches and their pastors for telling their congregations to vote for Republicans. If you’re giving sermons against Democrats then you give up your tax exempt status. Let’s start with John Hagee, James Dobson, Pat Robertson. Collecting back taxes from those hucksters could rebuild New Orleans 3 times over.

  4. Kahn says:

NIP, Harder to do. But MSNBC is easy to prove.

  5. kimberly4victory says:

They are worse than scum, Kahn. Stooping so low by going after the candidate’s mentally challenged infant son and high-school aged daughter.

“Not only is the DailyKos disgustingly inspecting Bristol’s midriff with all the fervor of LA paparrazzi examining J-Lo’s or Jennifer Aniston’s washboard stomachs for evidence of a “bump” DailyKos is is wrong on when the photo was taken. It was taken, and published, by the Anchorage Daily News in 2006. Baby Trig, a Down’s Syndrome child, was born on April 18, 2008. That’s a long time for a teen girl to be carrying a “bump” which looks nothing more than the curve of a tight sweater.”

What a bunch of low-life morons.

  6. Kahn says:

Kimberly – In their mindless hatred, THEY have become the story. What is sad, is that not only do we see th usual suspects attacking a little girl, we DON’T see ANY of the other liberals denouncing them for it.

Again liberals – your mindset is what allowed “normal” Germans to stand by and watch the SS fill those cattle cars full of little children. Your silence speaks volumes about the degree of hatred in your hearts. Hatred, and cowardice.

  7. bongoman says:

Sort of like the “whitey tape”, the terrorist fist-bump, the muslim rumours, the Larry Sinclair allegations etc etc which are always getting denounced here by commentators.

  8. kimberly4victory says:

Obama hasn’t even denounced it. It’s on Drudge now so a little late for him to denounce it. He’ll just look like the hollow fool that he really is.

    Interesting chart here:

What a bunch of mindless fools!!

  9. kimberly4victory says:

bongoboy: So, basically, in that small little mind of yours, it’s okay to go after a mentally-challenged infant and teenage girl?

  10. bongoman says:

Or like when Bush push polled against McCain in South Carolina to suggest that McCain’s Bangladeshi born daughter was his own, illegitimate black child. Remember that one? Charming. And remember how loudly it was denounced?

  11. bongoman says:

I’m not saying any of it is OK – but you are deluded if you think that only one side of politics plays this game.

  12. kimberly4victory says:

    Deleted – responds to slander.

Ed Note: We understand, but please don’t respond to posts on this subject. All future attempts by leftwingers to bring this to the blog will result in banning and one wishes that there was still in this world the ability to challenge people, man to man, when slanders like this are launched against a lady of impeccable background.

Thanks for bringing this story to light, Kimberly4Victory and Kahn…

I’d like to write a piece about this, would one of you guys like to be an editor for me?

  14. kimberly4victory says:

I can’t believe I never heard that story about McCain and his adopted daughter. If I did, I WOULD have denounced it. Adults can take the rumors because they have tougher skin, but children should be off limits.

Jeremiah: I’d be happy to help you out.

  15. Jeremiah says:

I’d be happy to help you out.

    Hey, Thanks, Kimberly!

Do you have an email address?

If so, I can send you an invitation and add you as a contributor, and then you can access my posts, and add your own if you like.

  16. Kahn says:

Bongo, all your posts do is “justify” an attack on children. Zeig Heil MF.

Is it hard keeping those black uniforms clean?

  17. Kahn says:

I still don’t see any of the regular “moderate” liberal posters denouncing this?

Hey – maybe you aren’t so moderate after all.

Look what hatred has done to your hearts. Look and be ashamed.

Or don your black uniform like bongo and jump in a tank. Republicans deserve anything you dish out because we’re evil, right? O

Casper, CO, other regulars – where is your indignation? Down the sewer with your souls?

  18. kimberly4victory says:

I believe calling people names just proves how intelligent they are. You do not win by calling someone names or putting them down. You win by being kind to people. I have only called one person on this site a name and thats after they called me one over and over and over. I try to be very nice to all you here, and even though we do not agree at all it would be nice if you all would treat me like a human being.

  21. Kahn says:

MS – sooooo, you denounce the attacks on Palins children, or not? Sounds like “not.”

  22. Mark Noonan says:

It is disgusting the depths to which the left is falling in their attempt to destroy Governor Palin…like water off a duck’s back, of course; like President Bush and John McCain, she’s so far above her critics that in their muddy dreams they can’t even understand that they are only harming themselves.

  23. Ken says:

I think a better question to ask is “Is Obama on the Mainstream Media’s Payroll” I get the impression that instead of following marcing orders, they are protecting their investment…

  24. thrower says:

I have to admit a degree of amazement at this rumor. If Palin says it is her baby, then it is. End of story. Moreover, my experience with mongoloids suggests that she has years of pleasure ahead of her raising and nurturing what will certainly be a loving and amazing human being.

Having said that, I question what is going on in the hearts of some of the regulars with whom I have interacted here. I’m talking about Spook who vacillates between respectful disagreement and references to the second amendment which presage Americans killing Americans. I’m talking about Neocon who usually engages passionately but always engages. I’m talking about Phnx who wondered how I was doing when I was offline for a week or so after being driven out by the witch fire in SoCal.

Do any of you see the connection between this despicable lie and the claims that Obama is a Muslim, that he was educated in madrassas, that he took the oath of office on a Quran or that he is the anitChrist as prophesied in the bible? Do any of you wonder what this bipartisan hate is doing to political discourse in this country?

Before any of you claim that leftwing hate is pervasive and right wing hate is rare, I have received numerous emails broadcast to the address books of friends containing the Obama lies. I have only seen the Palin garbage here. Is anyone willing to start a movement of respectful disagreement? WWJD?

  25. Dennis says:

Just how well was Sarah Palin vetted, anyway? Check out the “Bridge to Nowhere.” Seems she was for it before she was against it.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/vcCandidateFeed7/idUSN3125537020080901?sp=true

In the city Ketchikan, the planned site of the so-called “Bridge to Nowhere,” political leaders of both parties said the claim was false and a betrayal of their community, because she had supported the bridge and the earmark for it secured by Alaska’s Congressional delegation during her run for governor…

“People are learning that she pandered to us by saying, I’m for this’ … and then when she found it was politically advantageous for her nationally, abruptly she starts using the very term that she said was insulting,” [Ketchikan mayor] Bob Weinstein said…

The state, however, never gave back any of the money that was originally earmarked for the Gravina Island bridge, said Weinstein and Elerding.

In fact, the Palin administration has spent “tens of millions of dollars” in federal funds to start building a road on Gravina Island that is supposed to link up to the yet-to-be-built bridge, Weinstein said.

“She said ‘thanks but no thanks,’ but they kept the money,” said Elerding about her applause line…

  26. Danish Artist says:

Uh, Dennis, Obama supported and voted in favor of the earmark for the bridge to nowhere.

The Coburn Amendment to HR 3058, which would have diverted funds from the “bridge to nowhere” project to New Orleans to repair the I-10 twin span across Lake Ponchartrain that was damaged by Hurricane Katrina, was voted down by Barak Obama.

Barak Obama voted for tabling the amendment and keeping the funds earmarked for the bridge to nowhere.

Secondly, if the lawmakers of the state of Alaska wish to build a bridge to nowhere that’s their business and they will answer to their voters.

So, on a state level – Palin if she did support the bridge was inclined to do so by the voters of her state. On the other hand, the earmark scandal was supported by one Barak Hussein Obama. The higher scandal is on the fed side along with Ted Stevens and the Democrats who voted to keep the earmark in place.

  28. phnx says:

    Thrower,

Are you aware that there is a lawsuit filed in Philadelphia by a Dem Party functionary to prevent Obama from taking office because he is not an natural born US citizen?

I look at all of this as rumor until its proven. Notice that McCain has come out against these rumors about Obama. Obama has yet to denounce the atttacks on the Palin family.

There is a difference with the attacks at the Palin family. They are directed at a Downs Syndrome child and a teenage daugther in an effort to smear Palin. Its a dispicable ploy that will hopefully backfire on the left. I would imagine that there are many, especially women, who will take serious offense to this sort of tactic.

BTW, seems like with the fire, the rain, and the earthquakes you guys can’t catch a break out there.

  29. kimberly4victory says:

OMG! I believe it’s the first time my posts have been deleted. :-( I’m outta here. Never coming back. Waaaah. Just kidding.

I apologize, Mark. I didn’t want to respond but felt that I had to … adults can handle rumors, but can a teenager?

  30. Kahn says:

NIP, yes – harder to prove. The statements must have certain wording. Can you prove some cases? Have you filed any complaints?

Meanwhile, MSNBC publicly states that they are for Obama. When Palin was announced. the banner on MSNBC read “Breaking news: How many houses will this ass to the Republican ticket?” An obvious carry forward of the Obama how many houses talking point.

Again, you complain about the churches if yoiu want to. I’m trying to figure out how to file an official complaint about MSNBC and how to get their Press “credentials” pulled. Then my friend, the campaign finance laws kick in. And every minute of coverage becomes chargeable against the Obama campaign or they can’t mention either candidate by name at all for the black out period.

Don’t you know anything about the crazy laws we passed?

  31. Retired Spook says:

I’m talking about Spook who vacillates between respectful disagreement and references to the second amendment which presage Americans killing Americans.

thrower, I’m passionate about the Second Amendment. It’s “Second”, right behind Freedom of speech and religion for a reason. Without the public’s ability to throw off a tryanical government, by force if necessary, none of the rest of it (the Constitution and Bill of Rights) means very much.

I love this country a lot, and I do get emotional when I see one political party advocate taking this country in a direction that’s diametrically opposed to the things that I believe make this country great. Unlike Liberals, many of whom threatened to move out of the country if Bush was elected (or reelected), I would stay and fight for what I believe in. Taking up arms against my fellow countrymen is not something I look forward to, nor would it be likely that I would fire the first shot.

The political Left in this country has an almost total monopoly on violence as a political tactic, certainly in the last half century. If you’re not part of the mindset that wants this country to veer sharply to the left, then I suggest you stay out of the way, because, believe me, there are a lot of us who will not allow that to happen.

  32. FactCheck says:

Factcheck, having the media against you is NOT a small thing. It is a major thing.

Well, I’ll say this much for ya, Kahn: I didn’t expect that you would be defending Obama like that. You certainly surprised me with the above quote.

But you still retain your comical ability to jump to “this is just like the Nazis!” at the drop of a hat, so at least some things about you remain consistent.

Obama Says Palin Pregnancy “Off Limits”
    by Bonney Kapp

Barack Obama addressed a gaggle of reporters this afternoon to discuss the latest goings-on with Hurricane Gustav. After brief opening comments on the much-hyped, overly politicized hurricane, reporters were curious about one thing: 17-year-old Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, made public today.

“I have heard some of the news on this and so let me be a clear as possible: I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics,” the Democrat said forcefully. “It has no relevance to Governor Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a VP. And so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories,” he continued.

The candidate who himself was born to a teenage mom, reminded reporters, “You know my mother had me when she was 18, and how a family deals with issues and you know teenage children, that shouldn’t be the topic of our politics and I hope that anybody who is supporting me understands that’s off limits.”

When asked about an “unnamed McCain advisor” accusing the Obama campaign of spreading despicable rumors surrounding Bristol Palin online, Obama interrupted the reporter mid-question. “I am offended by that statement. There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us,” he said directly. “Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that – they’d be fired,” he added.

  34. Kahn says:

Catfish, and you disagree with this? The minor child of a political candidate is fair game. F*CK YOU

Stop the hatred you dip. In your sleezy squirming mind, I’m sure you think you’re justified. But know what? You’re not. You’re scum.

    1. Obama challenges the 2nd Amendment … The Right To Bear Arms.

    2. Obama challenges the 1st Amendment … The right of Free Speech.
Obama pressures all media who accepts NRA advertising.

    3. Obama wants a Civil National Security Force … with the same budget as the Pentagon.

So, Obama does not want any opposition, so he stops Freedom of Speech.
Then, to make any opposition defenseless, he wants to take away our right to bear arms.
Next, he wants a Civil National Security force to put down any insurrection.

Sounds like the stepping stones to a leftist dictator taking over this country.
