Are the Mainstream Media on the Obama Payroll? Obama’s Convention Non-Bounce

The Palins Best the Obamas in Management of Personal Finances

August 31st, 2008 at 08:05pm Kevin Patrick

In looking at the financial disclosure forms for the Obama family and the Palin family, we see that the Palin household is rather astute at managing their household income, while the Obama’s are either “getting bad tax advice. Or maybe he is expecting vastly higher tax rates in the future…”

So the Palins are businesspeople who save and invest, while it looks like the Obamas are either bad at managing money or expect to raise your taxes. Choose your poison…

Note: Thanks to Greg Mankiew who did all of the heavy lifting.

Not surprising at all. The Palin’s run circles around the Obama’s when it comes to brains and class.

Michelle could learn a lot from Mr. Palin and Mrs. Mccain, in re: to this election. Someone needs to tell her, that this election is not about her, and very few of us care what she thinks.

  • 2. Magnum Serpentine  |  August 31st, 2008 at 8:35 pm

That being said, Palin may be able to balance her check book but she cannot seem to stay out of ethics probes.

  • 3. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 8:42 pm

    Mags,

Do you realize that Palin herself called for the investigation? And how is the traction on that story coming along?

Will you be the last Obama sycophant parroting it?
How do you feel about Biden’s plagiarism?

  • 4. Mark Noonan  |  August 31st, 2008 at 8:43 pm

    Magnum,

Don’t you feel the slightest bit embarrased to say things like that? I mean, its only the one probe and its clearly a bogus complaint. There is such a thing as the sin of bearing false witness…

  • 5. Mark Noonan  |  August 31st, 2008 at 8:45 pm

    Neocon,

What is interesting is how very middle class it all is - they are a bit better off than I am, but not that much, and as they’ve got five kids to look after, their net discretionary spending might be less.

Governor Palin and her husband are of us - we, the average Americans who do the work and pay the bills of this country.

  • 6. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 8:50 pm

    Mark,

Agreed. Palin is the salt of the earth, the real deal. Having graduated from Idaho myself, I know of where she comes and the cloth that she is cut from.

I can’t wait to see her become President.

  • 7. Magnum Serpentine  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:06 pm

Sources please. I so far in my diggings have not found anything that says she started the probe. I do see things that say she agreed to it, AFTER it was started by the Republican AG and State legislature.

From the Huffington report, quote: The Alaska Legislature voted last month to investigate allegations that Palin dismissed the state’s public safety commissioner after the official resisted pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a contentious divorce from Palin’s sister. end quote.

I need to remind you that the legislature is REPUBLICAN. And this does not sound like Palin started the probe, sounds to me like the Republican Legislature did by themselves.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/30/sarah-palin-faces-ethics_n_122615.html

I also found this at this site about her raising taxes

quote:::In October 2007, Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin called a 30-day special session to raise the state’s oil tax rate.

The governor’s plan is called Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share, or ACES. Clear and equitable share? Doesn’t sound very free market oriented–and it isn’t. end quote

    source:http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/

I did a search on Palin Ethics Probe and have yet to find anything that said she started this herself. I did find where the Republican legislature ordered the probe with no input from Palin.

And no I do not feel embarrassed.

    Oh Mark

Sorry for this one more post. You do know I am NOT Voting for spineless Obama. I am going to write in Hillary Clinton’s name this November.

  • 9. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:13 pm

So you will be the last sycophant parroting the propaganda.

And since when do you object to taxing oil companies? Are you afraid that she’s better at it then the Democrats?

Probably since she actually accomplished it. In fact Obama can only talk about it, Palin did it.

    That’s experience that matters

  • 10. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:31 pm

    Mags,

You’re obviously a stickler for ethics so I am sure you have gotten to the bottom of the Rezko probe about Obama and Bidens penchant to plagerize.

    Please provide your findings.

  • 11. Magnum Serpentine  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:43 pm

I told you Neocon I am not voting for Obama I am writing in Hillary Clinton’s name. Besides why havn’t you said anything about the Lawsuit against Obama. If Obama looses he gets deported. End of story.

  • 13. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:54 pm

    42,

You’re for Barr? How do you sqaure that for your need for UHC and taxing the rich to level the laying field that you obviously can’t compete on?

How do you square that with your pro-abortion and pro gay marriage stance?

He doesn’t seem to be the right candidate for you.

And in re: to palin; prove me wrong.

  • 14. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:57 pm

And your grandmother comment exposes your DailyKOS allegiance which reveals an intelligence equal to that of field mice.

Good to know where you get your material and who feeds it to you.

  • 15. neocon  |  August 31st, 2008 at 10:03 pm

Now we know what 42 supports:

Government should stop acting as the welfare agency of first resort under the guise of providing social insurance. - Bob Barr

As for Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, government must emphasize private choice in health care and private retirement accounts. - Bob Barr

In particular, Congress should allow the exploration and production of America’s abundant domestic resources, including oil in the Outer Continental Shelf and Arctic National Wildlife Refuge - Bob Barr

So in short, 42 does not believe in UHC, not taxing the rich and that we should immediately drill here and drill now.

Good to know and duly noted.

    Obviously,

Thank you for listing all of the reasons why I support this woman.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

1: Palin opposes the heinous murder (abortion) of unborn child.

#2: Palin believes that Creationism should be taught in public schools

    WHOOOO!!! GLORY!!! HALLELUJAH!! FINALLY….

WE MAY GET SOME REALITY BACK IN SCHOOL!!!

MAY WE FINALLY RESTORE DIGNITY, HONOR, AND WORTH TO PRECIOUS, INNOCENT LIFE!!!

Yes, thank the Lord we still have REAL leaders in this world like Gov. Palin who will stand up for what is RIGHT!!!

Why in hell’s name do you liberals make such a fuss over something that this woman truth be told is not at fault in….

And completely overlook the racial tensions and crack-head people that has surrounded this man, Barack Hussein Obama from day 1.

    It’s scary!!!!

Obama has no honor or integrity to his name. His closet is packed with skeletons. His ideologies are dangerous!!!

  • 23. David B. Schmidt  |  August 31st, 2008 at 11:44 pm

I tried from not commenting on this thread; however, Barr is a loser and we all know it. Obama has less experience than Palin and we all know that. She has been vetted and will be the next VP.

Now, just to rile up you cankers– think about this for a minute…you know — burn both of your liberal brain cells at once.

4 years as VP and she runs for POTUS - good night Hillary ~ Good night

She (Palin) has been vetted and will be the next VP.23. David B. Schmidt | August 31st, 2008 at 11:44 pm

Vetted? McCain chose a person that could be called upon to lead the free world after one friggin meeting. Vetted, give me a break! I still say this is one of the most reckless politically motivated decisions to maintain and acquire power since Iran Contra trading of arms to our enemies for hostages.

Now it makes sense concerning your warpped views of America. You are a potato head. Now you will probably tell us Palin loves America more than Obama and Biden. Palin’s bumper sticker; “Drill here, drill now screw a Polar Bear”.

Vetted, it is starting to come out with video she supported the bridge to nowhere project for the rich folk of Gravina Island during the run for governor, but only turned sour on it when the rest of the country started to mock it. In addition there are some hugs and kisses pictures with Ted Stevens as recently 2008. Seems a little different from what we have been told. Sounds like Palin is in Steven’s holster!

Dan Quale slipped by us. I don’t think Palin will get by without a true vetting, but this time by the American public.

  • 27. Kevin Patrick  |  September 1st, 2008 at 9:45 am

Here is a link that shows Palin called for an independent investigation of the Trooper story after the partisans in the legislature announced their witch hunt, but before it had gotten off the ground:
    http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/492077.html

“Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg has launched an inquiry at the governor’s request, including interviews with state public safety officials. The attorney general’s involvement has started before the special investigator newly hired by the Legislature, Steve Branchflower, has had a chance to dive into his work.

Colberg said his office’s review began after state Sen. Hollis French was quoted in The Wall Street Journal about two weeks ago saying the governor could be impeached as a result of the probe. That raised questions about how impartial the Legislature’s investigation was going to be, according to the governor’s office.”

    They totally ignore this………

barack Obama Gay Sex and drug use

On January 23rd 2008 on the Jeff Rense radio program, a man named Larry Sinclair made stunning claims about Senator Barack Obama. Sinclair claimed that in 1999 he met Barack Obama and Obama purchased and supplied him with cocaine. Sinclair also claims that he performed a sex act on the Senator and the Senator smoked crack cocaine during the evening.

Sinclair’s claims have been analysed by the controversial forensic technique known as Reverse Speech, the practice of playing speech in reverse to reveal unconscious thoughts of the speaker.

I think you have a winner there. It shows a much more disregard for the environment than my lame attempt. Palin may even get that tattooed on her ass.

  • 31. Retired Spook  |  September 1st, 2008 at 11:34 am

Fantasyteam, you didn’t live through the gas lines in the 70’s, did you. You think folks are going to be worried about Polar Bears when they can’t get gas to get to work?

Environmentalists tried the same tack in opposing drilling on the North Slope and building the Alaska pipeline, claiming the Caribou herd would be decimated. We all know how that worked out.
