Who is Sarah Palin? Dear Democrats

Our Next Vice President, Sarah Palin

September 3rd, 2008 at 09:11pm Matt Margolis

I’ve just received excerpts of Palin’s prepared remarks for tonight. Not much was released yet, but from the excerpts I’ve read, it’s going to be a great speech.

On her experience:

Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.”

On why she is going to Washington, D.C.:

“I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

On John McCain:

“Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”
Consider this an open thread for tonight’s events, especially Sarah Palin’s speech.

Consider this an open thread for tonight’s speeches. I’ll be twittering the night’s events here.

FLASHBACK: Newsweek praised Palin last year.

UPDATE: joe Biden says Sarah Palin is ready to be Vice-President, but Barack Obama isn’t ready to be President.

UPDATE: Media Lizzy posts excerpts from from Rudy’s speech.

UPDATE: An incredible speech. And our next President joins the Palin family on stage!

UPDATE: Her full remarks, as prepared for delivery.

That “small town” mayor gave her the necessary foreign policy credentials.

I mean what phone call did she get at 3 A.M.?

    Ring, Ring…

    Mayor Palin speaking.

John Q: Yeah, there’s a moose that just tipped over my trashcan….

Palin: Hold on, I’ll get my gun….

    John Q: Thanks…

  • 5. Rich  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 7:45 pm

Lib- still waiting on that apology for your AIP smear. By all means, keep making fun of people from small towns, Barry already does so well with that constituency.

Calvin Coolidge was the mayor of my town before becoming Massachusetts governor. He did OK. A good administration is a boring administration.

“This election is not about issues,” said Rick Davis, McSame’s campaign manager.

    Obviously

This blog proves that as much

  • 10. Matt Margolis  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 7:53 pm

LibMind, obviously the nomination of Obama proves that for Democrats, it’s about personality, not issues or experience or judgment.

  • 11. LiberalMind  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 7:53 pm

William, a little ebonics there, eh?

I guess you guys belittle all black people then.

    No surprise

  • 12. navydad  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 7:55 pm

Rick Davis is correct Asshat. The Republicans already know the issues, and the donks are so far behind..there’s really no reason to debate them….LOL!! Poor Liberalasshat, can’t find an issue that makes her intellect look greater than a third-grader.

  • 13. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 7:57 pm

LiberalMind - well, I’ve been struggling as to how to argue at your level. Here it is:

Nana nana woo woo, you guys suuuuuccckkkk!

    There ya go.

  • 14. LiberalMind  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 7:58 pm

    Matt:

I really do agree with Obama on the issues.

I want affordable healthcare and a fair tax system.

I want to get out of Iraq sooner rather McSame’s 100 year plan.

I want to repeal Bush’s tax cuts even though I will pay more as a result.

    No, it is about issues.

Because I am firm believer that government can work for the people and help people, I vote Obama.

I am a liberal. He is a liberal.

I am for Obama on the issues.

  • 15. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Liberal Mind - so we should pull out of Korea, Germany and the rest of Europe, and Japan? You do know what McCain actually said about Iraq, right?

  • 16. LiberalMind  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:04 pm

    Kahn:

    Queue Peggy Noonan…….

“Most qualified [Palin]? NO. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives.”

  • 17. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:04 pm

    Oh, I forgot.

Nyah nyah nyah - thats your level isn’t it LM?

  • 18. Rich  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:06 pm

Its official it is now war with the Dems. They are pushing a Palin affair now at dailykos with no evidence other than an anonymous source from the national enquirer. I would say any libs bringing this trash up be instantly perma-banned from this site. This trash has to be met with force. This is the biggest political lynching in my lifetime.

  • 19. navydad  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:12 pm

    Liberalasshat
Would you back Obama if you knew for a fact he would raise your taxes? Or are you in such a low tax bracket that it wouldn’t matter.

Ya see Asshat, many yutes in this country only know history from the time they were born, which leads me to believe most (including you) have no clue what it’s like to have 21% interest rates, 18% inflation and double-digit unemployment.

Another fact the yutes wouldn’t know is, during the Carter era, we experienced gas rationing, and if I’m not mistaken, for only the second time (the first was during WWI, and maybe WWII but I’m not sure), so, with this in mind, if you still believe Obama will make America better, you’d better research his liberal tax plan , who supports him (Jimma ) and how his resistance to domestic energy will affect your thin pocketbook.

  • 20. Some Assembly Required  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:13 pm

“And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”

35 years in office, what change? She must mean continuing Bush’s Economic policies. Yup, or continuing on in Iraq. Definitely those Keating 5. I hope she explains what kind of change will occur in her speech. You know, I hope she’s not an ‘empty skirt’ and she talks about the issues instead of just ‘giving a good speech’. Wait, where have I heard that to before?

  • 21. navydad  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:18 pm

    SAR,

Didn’t you hear…we’re pulling out of Baghdad by July 2009…with honor and victory!!!!! Not defeat as the left would have it.

Regardless of how the left frames this, we still kicked some serious AQ ass and the Iraqi people are better off…period.

    NavyDud:

Carter warned about our reliance on foreign oil and implored America to seek other energy sources.

No one listened back then when the embargo was lifted. No both parties are finally heading Carter only now.

    Carter was right, afterall.

    I remember gas rationing.

And my taxes will go up by about 7% or as much as 10% if the capital gains taxes are rolled back.

What are your specific policies, and McSame’s for that matter to pay down the 10 TRILLION dollar national debt?

    Borrow more?

  • 24. WhatChange  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:20 pm

“I want to repeal Bush’s tax cuts even though I will pay more as a result.” LM

Everyone will pay more as a result. Fewer jobs, less tax revenue, recession, inflation. But if you’re saying you make $250,000 a year with your IQ, well ain’t America great!

  • 25. A-10  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:23 pm

    LiberalMind,

“That “small town” mayor gave her the necessary foreign policy credentials.”

You realize what your savior considers his the most important part of his foreign relations experience: “Probably the strongest experience I have in foreign relations is the fact I spent four years overseas when I was a child in Southeast Asia.” Senator Obama spent the four years overseas between the ages of 6 and 10.

That gives him great foreign relations experience. I just hope that his cocaine use didn’t destroy the part of the brain where all that valuable “foreign relations experience” resides.

“I want affordable healthcare and a fair tax system.”

Universal Health Care managed by the Government will not be affordable and will not provide the same quality of healthcare we expect and deserve.

Senator Obama’s tax plan is not a “fair tax system.” He wants to transfer the entire tax burden to the “rich”, who are already paying over 90% of the personal income tax burden. History has show that if you decrease the marginal tax rate, you increase revenue. This is proven with our current record tax revenues. Why would anyone in their right mind want to reduce the tax revenue, which is what the Obama Tax Plan will do. Not to mention stiffle investment, increase unemployment, increase inflation, and stagnate the economy.

“I want to get out of Iraq sooner rather McSame’s 100 year plan.”

What is wrong with retaining forces in Iraq under a Mutual Defense Agreement as we have with many other countries. Are you aware that we have forces in Germany 63 years after the end of WWII and nearly 20 years after the fall of the Soviet Union. We have forces in Korea 55 years after the end of the Korean War. We have forces all over the world. H*ll, we have forces in Great Britain and its been 196 years since we defeated them in the War of 1812.

“I want to repeal Bush’s tax cuts even though I will pay more as a result.”

Why? So we can stiffle the economy? So the “rich” can pay all of the tax burden, while receiving the smallest portion of the benefits? So we can reduce tax revenues? Go back to Econ 101.

    “No, it is about issues.”

No, its BDS, now PDS. Its about retaining the USA as a thriving, capitalist economic powerhouse, the light of freedom for the world, the greatest power for good in the world. Or turning the USA into a socialist second-rate country with a depressed economy, toothless military, and unable to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

“Because I am firm believer that government can work for the people and help people, I vote Obama.”

Because you have drunk the kool-aid, and want to see the US diminshed on the world stage, you’ll vote for Obama.

“I am a liberal. He is a liberal.”

You are a fool. He is a fool. Didn’t you hear Senator Lieberman last night. Vote for who will be best for the country, not just because they are from your party. Senator Obama will spell disaster for the US.

“I am for Obama on the issues.”

I see. You are for killing unborn babies. You are for punishing the successful with higher taxes. You are for a health system that is failing everywhere it is tried.

  • 26. Bull  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:23 pm

  • 28. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:26 pm

SAR, The lawyer for the Senate Democrats has stated in print that with no evidence, they incuded McCain in the Keating Five (later exonerated) solely so it would not only be Democrats. You see, the Keating FOUR were all Democrats. It was an act of partisan character assassination.

By the way, oil is on the way down. The economy grew last quarter, and we ARE coming home from Iraq as VICTORS.

No thanks to Biden and Obama who voted against guns and ammunition and body armor for my brother Marines. F*ck You. They tried to get Americans killed. And I will NEVER forgive them for it. Never. Yes - trying to keep guns, food, water, ammunition, gas, and armor from soldiers and Marines in battle is trying to get them killed. You think this is some game? Gotta lotta hours on the X-Box combat games? You know, once killed in real life you don’t regenerate. Asshole.

Something they might think about if they ever climb onto Marine One.

    LiberalMind,

“What are your specific policies, and McSame’s for that matter to pay down the 10 TRILLION dollar national debt?”

Keep taxes low to stimulate economic growth. Keep taxes low to encourage investment. Keep taxes low to increase revenues.

Cut spending!!! Cut out the earmarks. Cut out the Pork.

What are Senator Obama’s plan? Increase taxes (decreases tax revenues)? Increase spending (the only way to fund Universal Health Care and all his other programs)?

Question: What happens if you increase taxes, which results in decreased revenues, and increase spending? THE DEFICITS INCREASES BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS!!!!!!!

  • 31. navydad  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:31 pm

    LM,

Carter warned about our reliance years after he was thrown out of office and like a typical opportunist, he and Gore have tried to lay claim to the warnings…right!.
I have a problem with any politician that palys MMQB with such important issues.

Physics huh? That explains why you’ve never read anything about this stuff.

    Excellent response, A-10!!

  • 38. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:46 pm

    LiberalMind,

Those were projected surpluses. The budget was balanced during the Clinton, thanks in large part to Newt Gingrich, also with the pace of the economy with the tech bubble in full bloom, the surpluses were projected based on the continued growth.

    Then…..pop.

  • 39. kimberly4victory  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:48 pm

I would like to make a bet that the number of people watching Sarah Palin’s speech tonight beats the number of people who watched Obama accept the nomination. Any takers?

  • 40. navydad  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:48 pm

Okay Asshat, I’m going to take a chance here since I’m a non-degreed engineer…so don’t be too rough on me.

Without looking this up on the internet, what is the difference between centrifugal and centripetal forces. Okay, I’ll tell ya, centrifugal is when Obama takes a straight line to nowhere with his tax paln, and centripetal is when Obama tries to get back to the center on social issues.

  • 41. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:51 pm

    I’ll take that bet.

This convention is one big sleeping pill. Look at all of those empty seats in the hall and the hall is only half the size of the one the Democrats held their convention in. Pathetic, feel for you. The only reason anyone is watch this thing is to see a crash. As Peggy Noonan said, “It’s over!”

  • 43. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 8:59 pm

Now onto your unhinged anger. Didn’t Noonan say it was over with? I think we all heard that as you did as well. Neo , IT”S OVER and when you get a Republican in a private space when they think no one can hear they admit it.

Here’s the end of the quote:

I said that I didn’t know, but that we just might find “This IS a country for old men.” That is, McCain may well win. I do not think the campaign is over, I do not think this is settled, and did not suggest, back to the Todd-Murphy conversation, that “It’s over.”

    Care to rephrase that NIP.

I am now finding out where your service provider is. I’ve narrowed it down to three states. I am getting closer.

    Casper,

I really wouldn’t mind serving a little time in prison for taking out part of the poison that is ruining this country.

I think of it as serving my country.

That being said, assaulting the mentally challenged may be wrong.

    Care to explain?

  • 70. Casper  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 9:44 pm

    neocon,
There have been a couple of times in my life I’ve considered killing someone. I’m glad I didn’t. it’s not just my life, it also belongs to my wife, my kids, my siblings, my friends, and the hundreds of students I’ve taught and will teach.

BTw, I thought Huckabee’s speech was great. Romney’s not so good.

  • 71. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 9:47 pm

Hucakbee is a great speaker and i thought it was delivered as well. I am waiting for Palin.

I won’t kill NIP, I will invite him down to the hotel and buy him dinner. If he acts like he does here, I use to bounce bars in Montana and surely can handle my own.

  • 72. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 9:52 pm

Should have been…I thought it was well delivered.

Thank you for your reasoned post Casper. I have grown tired of the hate and half truths from brain dead liberals like NIP, and I have decided to confront them, espeically when they attack this all American family

You are not one of them. You usually have reasoned posts…..just wrong. LOL.

  • 73. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 9:54 pm

    Hey Neo–

    Noonan: It’s over.

Murphy: Still, McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech to do himself some good.

CT: Don’t you think the Palin pick was insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson, too (inaudible)

Noonan: I saw Kay this morning.

Murphy: They’re all bummed out. I mean, is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?

Todd: Yeah, I mean is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?

Noonan: The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives and (inaudible) the picture.

    Yeah, but what’s the narrative?

Noonan: Every time the Republicans do that because that’s not where they live and it’s not what they’re good at and they blow it.

Murphy: You know what’s really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism and this is cynical.

And as you call it gimmicky.

    Casper-
No worries about me I saw enough combat in Desert Storm but I will NOT have my life threatened by a wacko and just back and take it. Mark should see what this guy is saying on this blog and ban him outright.

  • 74. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 9:58 pm

    NIP,

Since you obviously are dodging the rest of Noonans quote, primarily because it proves you wrong, you now have moved on to make another assertion.

In effect moving the goal posts. This is what liberals always do when they are wrong.

Do you think Biden, who is an admitted plagerizer, is the most qualified and best VP candidate to the admitted cocaine user? That’s the standard now right?

  • 75. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:01 pm

    NIP,

So now you’re looking towards someone else to ban me? Why do liberals always look toward someone else to help them?

Are you afraid or do you just want to shut down free speech?

  • 76. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:04 pm

Yes - Palin asked that her brother-in-law be dismissed as a State Trooper……. AFTER he tasered her 10 year old nephew with a police taser (the ones that don’t turn off after 20 seconds but keep going as long as you pull the trigger).

So, um, you liberals see this as bad? Really? Firing a child abusing police officer? This is bad?

    OK - run with that.

  • 77. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:07 pm

The whole house (except my 8 year old) is up waiting for the speech. Me, the wife, and both the 15 year old and 18 year old Eagle Scouts.

Three Republican voters and one who will be next time.

Ya see liberals, we don’t murder future voters for our party in the womb like you do.

  • 78. WhatChange  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:10 pm

Then here is a little ee for you. You have a serious short circuit. Berkeley sucks.

  • 79. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 pm

    Neo -
It’s not my blog so can’t shut you down. I can only suggest that you be banned. t’s up to mark to say yea or ney.

As for Noonan that’s what she said and that’s all she said. Anything after that would be her “professional opinion ” but not her true feelings Neo. It’s called C-Y-A after the fact.
Sorry guy it is over for the Fundies.

  • 81. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:13 pm

You um, think Palins kids will vote Democrat? Any of their friends?

Even my 15 year olds liberal girlfriend and her liberal voter are ANGY over the attacks on Palins kids. Here’s the thing - people consider these attacks to be by the Obama campaign and some detached media.

The Obama campaign has tried to destroy Palin’s kids. That’s the way it’s being seen. Mostly because, that’s the way it really is.

Noonan IS right. It’s over. You blew it by acting like thugs. You went after her kids - many of you here joined in the blood lust. You will NOT recover from it.

“Attacks on Palin’s kids is NOT Change We Can Believe In. It’s thuggish nasty change.

Thanks for exposing your true natures to the light.

  • 82. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:16 pm

her liberal mother (not voter) and ANGRY , not ANGY - jeezz, is that a word? Why didn’t spellcheck find it? Guess I’m excited.

Oh, special forces raid into Al Queda camp in Pakistan. Not being reported much. Well, I read different sites than many people.

  • 83. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:21 pm

    NIP,

You, and the left, have no idea what you’re up against. Palin has awoken a sleeping giant.

Listen tonight and learn what a real woman is.

  • 84. neocon  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:25 pm

    Priceless.

  • 85. SteaM  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:27 pm

Thanks Rudy, until I listened to your speech tonight I had almost all but forgotten that I am supposed to be obsessing about and deeply afraid of terrorists.

    haha

Blah. Pretty predictable stuff from the fear card guy.

  • 86. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:32 pm

    Neo-

I see you’ve given up trying to assert the Noonan didn’t say what she said. As for Palin’s speech it’ll be what it will be. In the end it won’t alter the trajectory of the Republican downfall.

When you get to NYC I’ll buy you a drink.

  • 87. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:35 pm

    SteaM-

Yea rudy is a one trick pony. We in NYC have known that for over a decade now.

  • 92. Timothy Horrigan  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:43 pm

What we need in Washington is action not words… and I was worried by the smears directed at Palin to the effect that she had a great speech planned. But when she actually gave the speech, it was banal and its delivery was pedestrian. Nothing elitist or fancy about her speech. This proves that she is the type of leader we need.

  • 93. SteaM  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:43 pm

    Palin…

I feel like I am listening to an acceptance speech by a cheerleader captain who just won student council president.

    omg

This is not powerful or inspiring in the least bit.

Way off topic but a bit ironic that I’m interrupting a rnc thread to mention a hurricane but i just noticed that we are getting dumped on by the leftovers of Gustov…I hear we might get 6″ of rain from it…

  • 94. LiberalMind  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:46 pm

    Palin:

Do you still support the AIP dive to secede from the nation?

Do you still want to ban books from the library?

Can you point to the border between Pakistan and Iraq?

    Is Czechoslovakia still a country?

How much in debt is the Federal Government, to the nearest billion?

If your daughter was raped at knife point by OJ Simpson would you allow her to get an abortion?

    ………..tick, tick…..

  • 98. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 10:54 pm

“I told the congress No Thanks! on that bridge to no where. ”

Did anyone think to ask if she returned the money to the Federal Government? Well to answer that I’ll tell you that she kept the money. No bridge but thanks for the money. It went to build up her “hometown of 9,000 and to line the pockets of her buddies. Alaskan journalists have to whole story.

good speech and she presented it well — quite good interpersonal talents.

Wow, I touched a nerve with that murder your children in the womb line. What happened, did your girlfriends parents make her abort your baby or something? Pretty sad I guess, being philosophically in line with the murder of your kid.

I prefer to buy my kids bikes and baseballs instead of a lethal injection in the head.

  • 112. Kahn  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 11:24 pm

  • 113. majoriot  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 11:24 pm

Actually, Obama was the game changer.

How else do you explain the nomination and myth building of Palin? McCain wasn’t up to the challenge, so his campaign had nothing else to offer so decided to “jump the shark”.

Problem is, you guys won’t clear the tank.

Killing scum who kill kids and hide behind them is noble.

If a neighbor of yours was killing kids, wouldn’t you call the cops? You know cops are armed, right? Soooo - you support violence against kid killers. So do I.

But my kids are upstairs sleeping. And millions of liberal guys and gals are saying good night as they turn their head to the local dump as rats eat their dead babies.

Just to paint a picture for you.

Flipping back and forth between the coverage at msnbc and fox, the difference is hilarious. Kieth Olberman looks like he just crapped in his pants, meanwhile Karl Rove looks like he just got laid. That’s all you need to know. The libs will increase their attacks and their scummy rumors on Palin, and it will make her stronger. You are creating a monster.

  • 124. rightlane  |  September 3rd, 2008 at 11:33 pm

Sarah’s just torn the cover off that pitch and it’s way out of the park. Pit bull with lipstick? No, she tougher than that. It’s clear now why the lefts agenda is to say anything true or not to discredit Mrs Palin, but I don’t think she’ll have any trouble defending herself. I think we can all see why they’ve been so disparate to get rid of her.

Many on the right and the left are committed to McCain or Obama because they’ve no other viable option. Now, we on the right have a VP that has truly consolidated the party. I’m excited about what Sarah can and will do in Washington. She is a force to be reckoned with. The energy and the excitement was palpable on the floor tonight. We are now the true believers!

Yep - she’s just chased out of town an entrenched corrupt establishment in her own party. Went to the Federal Prosecuter with complaints and evidence.

    No memoirs though.

I guess she’s waiting until she’s done even more. Rather than writing about high school drug use like Obama.

better check your facts again factcheck and include ALL the taxes he’s proposed. Look at the spending he’s proposed and do the math.

    How about you factcheck? Landfill?

I’m just asking because Obama launched an ad campaign today defending “abortion”.

How many of you liberal guys here had to go along with someone killing your kid? You really OK with it? Never wish you could run your hand through his or her hair. See that toothy grin as they say they love you? Never think about rats eating their bodies as they decompose next to the half eaten big mac?

  • 149. Kahn  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:04 am

NIP, is it ABUSING HER OFFICE to fire a guy who tasered a 10 year old kid with a police taser?

    You think it is?

Wow - well you’re an (expletive deleted) then.

Kinda like W “abusing” his power to fire a few incompetent judges, and Clinton “exercising his Presidential authority” and firing all of them. I think I have it straight, DA.

NOW you tell me is FOR KILLING BABIES???
    HOW could that be????

You see NIP, what you failed to do was to read anything about the actual case.
    1. Her sister was getting a divorce.
    2. Her brother-in-law tasered her nephew
    3. She says, fire him
    4. It’s been made a case by people she defeated to take office.

But the crux of the matter is, she wanted a child abusing State Cop to be fired for using a freakin’ police taser on a little boy.

But to someone willing to chop a baby to bits and throw him in the garbage, Iguess that doesn’t seem too bad.

  • 155. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:12 am

When she pressures a law enforcement official to fire the guy then fires the guy who didn’t fire him because it was overstepping her bounds to order it, YES!!!!!!!!! it is troubling. Just because you’re Governor of a state doesn’t give you free reign to do what you want whenever you want.

Was the chart to complicated for you? Perhaps you could find a fourth grader to decipher it for you.

Never think about rats eating their bodies as they decompose next to the half eaten big mac?

Evidently, you think about that enough for everybody. It’s a pretty creepy fixation of yours. You should really go get help.

NIP, it doesn’t? You sure that’s the law in Alaska?

You want someone wearing a badge, carrying a gun and a taser after doing that to a little boy?

Sure, fight this if you want. You may even be right - it may have technically been wrong.

You think an Alaska jury will convict her? Would YOU?

    I wouldn’t.

But if you think this will work for you then run with it. But don’t be surprised when we explain about the tasering a little kid part and see how the public goes. OK?

I have a good answer where nip is and what he is doing, but it would be deleted…LOL

They are howling at the moon tonight,
I believe the end is NYE
you can be sure they will do EVERYTHING to steal this election, because after tonight they are turds circling the bowl WHOOSH!!!!!

Dont forget it was the daily’s and the crooked chicago mob that oBOMBa belongs to that STOLE the election from Nixon and gave it to Kennedy.

  • 161. Kahn  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:25 am

Factcheck - what chart? If you DO post one. Make sure it’s all inclusive. After doing MY taxes each year, I don’t see how you could possibly post one chart that actually has any meaning at all. But give it a shot.

Oh, and I’m just trying to explain what abortion REALLY is. Abortion is such a marketing word, don’t you think? Kind of makes it sound sciencey, like NASA aborting a rocket or something. Some Advertising guy came up with the idea of using the word.

Kind of like the word “gay”. Liberals stole it right out of the dictionary. When exactly did “gay” become “homosexual” you think? Not saying anything good or bad about being homosexual. Just kind of mad that they stole the word “gay”. Oh, and the rainbow. WTF, they stole the freakin’ rainbow?

WShat are you views on this factcheck?

  • 162. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:26 am

    Kahn-

If he was guilty of these child abuse charges why was he not arrested and convicted? I mean she’s the freakin’ governor right? Why isn’t this abusive guy sitting in a jail cell today?

Smells a little foul to me.

    Again she abused her office.

  • 163. Nietzsche-Is-Pietzsche  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:31 am

    Kahn-

Thanks for admitting she abused her powers as governor to get this guy fired.

He could have been in prison AND fired if what you say is true. there would have been no need to go to such lengths to get the guy fired if he broke the law the way you say.

Well now arbitrarily throwing someone in jail without due process WOULD be an abuse wouldn’t it? You know, Alaskans may not even convict of THAT. Pretty big frontier mentality up there. But taking away his badge, gun, and taser does seem like a good idea to me. Agreed?

But hey, you hadn’t read anything about it? Well tell ya what. Actually read about it someplace beside KOS and we’ll talk about it in another string soon OK? Right now, I think this is a loser for you.

  • 166. FactCheck  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:40 am

    what chart?

So now clicking hyperlinks is beyond your capability?

Go back to comment #145. See that red text? That’s called a “link.” If you click it, it will take you to a different Web page–specifically, one that is a chart showing the tax cuts proposed by both Obama and McCain.

I’ll get into the specifics of that chart once you prove that you were able to, you know, find it. Oh, and read it. I can’t take it for granted that you’ll be able to do that, apparently.

  • 167. Kahn  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:41 am

NIP, sorry but I have to disagree. She “may” have abused her power. I don’t know Alaskan law. Do you?

The guy may still go to prison. Do you know for a fact he hasn’t? Sounds like you’re arguing out of ignorance.

But I’ll tell ya what. If this is about a jerk who tasered a little kid? F$ck him and anyone who defended him. No jury in Alaska will convict her for firing him. Won’t happen. Admit it. This is a dead end.

In fact, it makes her look better.

  • 168. Kahn  |  September 4th, 2008 at 12:47 am

    Oh, I see it now.

Well for your attitude, go f&ck yourself.

OK - so I looked at this Washington Post chart.

Where are the capital gains, social security, medicare, death tax, and small business tax components. I DID tell you to include EVERYTHING, right? So, would YOU fill out your tax forms based on THIS chart?

You um, need more time? Find some MORE all inclusive this time charts? You do know about his proposed social security and medicare taxes, right? You do know they are not included in this magic chart, right?

smug doesn’t go well with stupid you idiot.

Wow! I picked a hell of a night to have a fantasy football draft. Obscenities, call outs, death threats, Casper once again called a lousy teacher by someone who hasn’t spent a second in his classroom, and an election I thought was moving to Obama ended in McCains favor (and a landslide at that) in 45 minutes. I can’t imagine what Cugat said to get a deletion in light of everything that was left said.

  • 170. Nevada Pundit  |  September 4th, 2008 at 6:11 am

Palin said she fired the guy over budget issues not about the trooper. Truth of the matter is, unless they find a smoking gun then the very worst that the investigation can possibly come up with is that she “may have” fired him because of the trooper. I might be wrong but if there was a smoking gun it probably would have been found by now.

  • 171. Ken  |  September 4th, 2008 at 8:23 am

Gov Palin’s only true crime is having an (R) instead of a (D). If a politician has a (D), they can get away with almost any crime and remain in office…
After all, Cliniton played hide the cigar and we were were told it was a private matter… Then there was a mayor of Washington DC that used Cocain and got reelected and a Senator that had sex with an minor and nothing was done to him… Heck, you can even drive off a bridge, leave your girlfriend to drown and still get relected if you have a (D) as part of your name…

  • 172. lab  |  September 4th, 2008 at 1:01 pm

Mc Cain shows his lack of judgment by choosing as a running mate an inexperienced governor embroiled in scandal in her own state who spent time as mayor of a back water town sucking in pork barrel projects for her town and doesn’t seem to have enough common sense parenting skills to keep her daughter educated enough to keep from getting pregnant.

Right some one I want a heart beat away from the oval office

    Kahn,
i should have asked, first, if you supported the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
If so, then you support the lilling of at least 30-40-50 thousand Iraqis.
If so, some of them were chuildren.
So, you support the the killing of innocent children.

    So….hypocrisy! We have a winner!
