McCain’s Moment

September 4th, 2008 at 09:01pm Matt Margolis

Consider this an open thread for tonight’s festivities….

As I have on previous nights, I will be twittering the speeches, etc. here.

Excerpts from McCain’s speech are here.

10:04 PM: McCain bio video up now.

11:06 PM: A great speech. A great vision. A great leader. Our next President, John McCain.

I’m going to fight for my cause every day as your President. I’m going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God, as I thank Him: that I’m an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on earth, and with hard work, strong faith and a little courage, great things are always within our reach. Fight with me. Fight with me.

Fight for what’s right for our country.

Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.

Fight for our children’s future.

Fight for justice and opportunity for all.

Stand up to defend our country from its enemies.

Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.

Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. We’re Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history.

Nate- Do you want to talk about candidate’s father’s? Whats up? Obama’s dad was a communist. Seems he was Barak’s inspiration too. That’s odd.

    http://gregransom.com/prestopundit/2008/04/gregs-guide-to-barack-obamas-d.html

Obama,Sr. stakes out the following positions in his attacks on the white paper produced by Mboya’s Ministry of Economic Planning and Development:

    1. Obama advocated the communal ownership of land and the forced confiscation of privately controlled land, as part of a forced “development plan”, an important element of his attack on the government’s advocacy of private ownership, land titles, and property registration. (p. 29)

    2. Obama advocated the nationalization of “European” and “Asian” owned enterprises, including hotels, with the control of these operations handed over to the “indigenous” black population. (pp. 32 -33)

    3. Obama advocated dramatically increasing taxation on “the rich” even up to the 100% level, arguing that, “there is no limit to taxation if the benefits derived from public services by society measure up to the cost in taxation which they have to pay” (p. 30) and that, “Theoretically, there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed.” (p. 31)

    4. Obama contrasts the ill-defined and weak-tea notion of “African Socialism” negatively with the well-defined ideology of “scientific socialism”, i.e. communism. Obama views “African Socialism” pioneers like Nkrumah, Nyerere, and Toure as having diverted only “a little” from the capitalist system. (p. 26)

    5. Obama advocates an “active” rather than a “passive” program to achieve a classless society through the removal of economic disparities between black Africans and Asian and Europeans. (p. 28) “While we welcome the idea of a prevention [of class problems], we should try to cure what has slipped in .. we .. need to eliminate power structures that have been built through excessive accumulation so that not only a few individuals shall control a vast magnitude of resources as is the case now .. so long as we maintain free enterprise one cannot deny that some will accumulate more than others .. ” (pp. 29-30)

    6. Obama advocates price controls on hotels and the tourist industry, so that the middle class and not only the rich can afford to come to Kenya as tourists. (p. 33)

    7. Obama advocates government owned and operated “model farms” as a means of teaching modern farming techniques to farmers. (p. 33)

    8. Obama strongly supports the governments assertion of a “non-aligned” status in the contest between Western nations and communist nations aligned with the Soviet Union and China. (p. 26)

  • 5. Nate  |  September 4th, 2008 at 10:30 pm

    nope, just john mccain

    well, and pathetic palin, too….

  • 6. Rich  |  September 4th, 2008 at 10:31 pm

Nate- What heroism has Obama ever witnessed other than the danger he faced when he bought crack and cocaine numerous times?

“Chit, chit, bubble, bubble bubble, bubble.” Sounds of Obama smoking crack.

Speaking of heroism, what links do you have for chickenhawk Biden’s heroism? Did he sprain his wrist writing his name on the five draft deferments?

    Tool.

  • 9. Rich  |  September 4th, 2008 at 10:41 pm

Nate- Why has Obama not done anything for the citizens in his home town of Chicago? They are dieing from gun violence at twice the rate of our soldiers in Iraq? Why has he not drafted legislation to pull them out? Does he not care for his constituents?

  • 10. phnx  |  September 4th, 2008 at 10:55 pm

Where’s Obama on the violence in his own home town??

Sounds like Chicago needs a surge to qwell the violence.

When I watched the speech, I noticed that there were no African Americans present in the delegates. I was told there were Hispanics but I sure did not see them.

I believe this is very telling.

Also why didn’t McSame mention anything about sarah’s ethics violation investigation or the possibility that she will be impeached because of the violations? Also why were there nothing mentioned about her defeating a incumbent Republican and how she has angered the Republican party in Alaska?

  • 12. Obama08  |  September 4th, 2008 at 10:58 pm

  • 23. steinerla  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:32 pm

After RNC, Repub. ticket looks a little better. Two factors stopping me from voting Repub.: 1.Economic: Bush/Cheney firmly in pocket of multi-nationals. Allowing job outsourcing to occur, allowing other countries to apply high taxes to our exports but not sufficiently taxing their imports. “Blame American worker first attitude”(half a million jobs lost in Detroit since 2000. Management could’ve learned from 70s oil crisis and designed fuel efficient cars to market by mid 90s)
    2. Iraq war: financed by T-bills/bonds sold to China and other sovereigns.

  • 24. kmg  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:33 pm

    This was debunked months ago:

“The critics of this article are making a big mistake,” says Omwami, who at Politico’s request read the document and the associated Internet debate over the weekend. “They are assuming Obama senior is the one who came up with this concept of African socialism, but that’s totally wrong. Based on that, they’re imbuing in him the idea that he himself is a socialist, but he is not.”

  • 27. Retired Spook  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:34 pm

Also why didn’t McSame mention anything about sarah’s ethics violation investigation or the possibility that she will be impeached because of the violations?

MS, give it a rest. I’ll bet you $100 she is not impeached. Put up or shut up.

Also why were there nothing mentioned about her defeating a incumbent Republican and how she has angered the Republican party in Alaska?

Where have you been the last 7 days? The Republican establishment in Alaska was so corrupt, I don’t think anyone at that convention was feeling too sorry for them. Besides most of the top dogs are either in jail, indicted or out of work — all thanks to Sarahcuda! Democrats, OTOH, reward their crooks with reelection, committee chairmanships and leadership positions.

Other than too many interruptions for applause, which interrupted the flow, I thought it was one of the better speeches I’ve heard McCain give. By about next Tuesday or Wednesday we should have a pretty clear idea which side came out of it’s respective convention with the most momentum.

  • 28. A-10  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:34 pm

    Nate,

Actually Seantor McCain was on track for flag rank, but decided to retire from the Navy and enter politics. He had commanded a squadron, graduated from the National War College, and served as the Navy’s liaison to the U.S. Senate. He retired as a Captain, one rank below flag rank.

    Magnum Serpentine,

“When I watched the speech, I noticed that there were no African Americans present in the delegates.”

Then you must either be blind, had your eyes closed, or are lying. I saw plenty, and recognized a few, including Lynn Swan.

“or the possibility that she will be impeached because of the violations?”

Plus there’s the possibility that pigs will fly, liberals will stop lying, and Senator Obama will be elected President. But don’t bet on it.

  • 29. neocon  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:39 pm

    steinerla,

The main reason so many companies locate off shore is high taxation. America has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world and Obama wants to increase them. I agree with you on the export taxation, but McCain will change that.

Japan currently owns the largest share of Americas debt; the China screed is a little old. However, thast is an issue and by ending earmarks, wasteful spending, balancing the budget and keeping investment taxes low, McCain’s plan can turn it around.

There is simply no choice here, McCain is the present and Palin is the future. She’s tough as nails and smarter than anyone of us.

  • 30. neocon  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:40 pm

  • 35. PHW  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:49 pm

Given McCain’s military record, training, and experience, there’s every reason that he would have been an Admiral had he stayed in.

As it is, getting to Colonel/Captain rank is in the neighborhood of 30%….not shabby by any means.

  • 36. bagni  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:49 pm

Simply look back the last twenty years and compare their records of National bipartisanship and accomplishments

Of course you can only go back 3 years for Obama.

That should be your first clue

  • 38. neocon  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:51 pm

    I don’t care

  • 39. A-10  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:54 pm

    PHW,

And considering that one of the political realities of promotion in the Navy to flag rank is that you have to be a “ring-knocker.” (For all you liberal, non-military types, that means that you graduated from one of the military academies) Senator McCain was a “ring-knocker.” He made it to Captain in 22 years, with 5 1/2 year interupted by his stay in the Hanoi Hilton.

He might not have made it to O-10, but O-7 or O-8 were a lock.

  • 40. Retired Spook  |  September 4th, 2008 at 11:59 pm

    >i>Olberman is criticizing the color of the screen behind McCain.

neo, you mean the one with the big American flag on it?

  • 41. steinerla  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:00 am

    Neocon,

What about cost of labor? Imho, labor and management should take the blame for Detroit. Union wages could’ve gone down(in fact, formerly 40 dollar an hour union jobs at Delphi are now 14 dollar non-union). The point is, since corporations are willing to throw America under the bus in the name of their bottom line, I feel government needs to take a position contrary to them. Not tax the hell out of them but disincentives for outsourcing and incentives for staying state side, whatever it takes to stop outsourcing. Bush/Cheney did the opposite of that and can’t really separate McCain from the party.

Regarding Palin, I suppose any woman that driven for power would scare me. I don’t know how smart she is- University of Idaho?

  • 42. bagni  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:00 am

    neomatrix
    that 20 yr argument

you’ll have to drop that extraterrestial experience rap
    don’t you think?

please don’t hate me cuz i’m beautifully green

  • 43. Retired Spook  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:00 am

    Night all.

  • 44. steinerla  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:05 am

Also, what’s McCain’s plan for Iraq? How long until he ends it? Will he end it at all? Will we have a permanent presence there? How will it be financed? Are they finally going to start using Iraqi oil profits? We should be entitled to however much we spent.

  • 45. neocon  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:06 am

    steinerla,

Cafe standards and the rise of our dependence on foreign oil and lack of refinement capacity have hurt Detroit more than rising wages. McCain just outlined a transitional energy plan that punks anything Obama has presented.

Hard to believe you can call Palin power hungry when you have the likes of Clinton and Pelosi on your side. Both of them are vicious power hungry, empty headed jumpsuits.

I’m an Idaho grad and I am kicking your ass. You’re no match for Palin

  • 46. bagni  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:08 am

final cosmic comment of the nite
    just for you neoreeves
seems as though mccain isn’t worried about the centrist vote anymore?
    the gamble would be
he can get more votes with energizing base and evangelicals and senior citizens
than obama can get with clinton chicks and the youth vote
    should be close

  • 47. neocon  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:08 am

    steinerla,

You’re buying into the fear and prpaganda on Iraq. McCain will end this war soon, only successfully. He certainly has the experience and the know how.

Iraq has stepped up big time and soon will be out and they have a chance at a better life. That’s worht any money in my opinion and will come back in spades in gratitude.

  • 48. FactCheck  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:09 am

Magnum Serpentine said “Also why didn’t McSame mention anything about sarah’s ethics violation investigation or the possibility that she will be impeached because of the violations?”

The trooper she wanted fired had made death threats against her, her family and had tasered his ten year old step son with a police taser (different than civilian ones).

We explained this to you last night you stupid hating moron.

Maybe you shold be glad they DIDN’T mention it. As it makes her look good. Bringing it up makes you guys look like jackasses.

bagni, can you find some opium den forum to post in? I guess you think you’re clever or something, but your posts are the stupidity nonsensical tripe posted here. Is it just me? Is it just the conservatives that think this?

Liberals 0 do you get bagnis posts?

  • 53. Phil  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:41 am

A great speech…are you serious. His speech was better than Palin’s stand up comedy show, but both of them talk a bunch of bs. Palin has no idea what she’s doing, she’s only there because Hillary had such a huge base of women supporters. McCain didn’t really want to pick her, he had to counter Obama’s popularity and historic campaign.
You Republican’s are so naive and ignorant that you can’t even see the bull right under your noses.

And what’s funny to me is that now McCain is the guy for change…huh? Bush has destroyed our country, put us back in to deficit and McCain voted with him on damn near all the issues, so what change will he bring….give me a plan, strategic intent or something, don’t just yap about how you were a POW (no disrespect at all) but lets talk about today and the future. What does my son have to look forward to?

Republican’s are trying for the third time to scare us with this terrorism thing. But they don’t even really know why we are there or what victory really is. Bush says we have won in the Mid-East, then he comes back and says we are winning or we are not leaving until we’ve reached success. Yeah..ok. So can one of you Republican’s tell me why we are there? Oil, Osama, Sadam, Weapon of Mass Destruction, or to promote Democracy? I wonder what it will be next.

  • 54. kimberly4victory  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:48 am

I thought it was an excellent speech. Although he is much better without a teleprompter. He truly loves his country and will work for her, not fame. When he started tearing up at the end, I lost it. I am really excited about the debates.

Loved McCain’s reaction to the two idiot protestors … how did they get in???

The Clinton supporters were excited too from their posts. They especially like us all working together. That would be nice.

    Good night all.

  • 55. steinerla  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:49 am

First, I didn’t mean to be confrontational, I was hoping you would make your case. Let’s face it, UI isn’t exactly Harvard Law. Hell, it isn’t even Boise State. But, this is where I make a left turn. You seem to take it personally. This isn’t personal. I honestly couldn’t give a sh** less about any of them. Just trying to figure out what’s best.

In response to your “kicking my ass”. I don’t know about that. Your Cafe standards/dependence on foreign oil argument is suspect at best. Americans have been wanting fuel efficiency and alt. tech. for over 20 years. Detroit should’ve learned from the 70s oil crisis. Toyota and Honda were ready with what people wanted to buy, Ford and GM were not.

They both subscribe to Pickens Plan.

Regarding Clinton and Pelosi, they scare me too.

Regarding Iraq: I was against the war but now that we’re near the finish line, it doesn’t make sense to quit. The surge seemed to work. Imho, we should maintain a permanent presence there and collect at least a portion of their oil profits to pay for our past and present operations while we maintain stability. When that is paid off and stability is constant(maybe in 50 years) we can maintain our presence and leave their oil profits alone.

So, take a deep breath neocon, take your contacts out, put some rogain on that bald spot and don’t forget your zit cream before you go to bed.

John McCain did a super good job tonight!

    It was awesome!

When the Code pink protesters tried to disrupt, the crowd went roaring mad … and when John said, “Don’t be distracted by the static and ground noise” they went wild!!

Tonight, we seen John reach out to ALL of us. What a WONDERFUL speech he gave.

I seen Reagan, I seen Lincoln, I seen all great Presidents in one package.

Man, what a blessing! America is SO blessed to have these two fine leaders ready to take charge and it won’t cost you a penny!

I can’t WAIT … stores and factories will boom as never before in America’s history!! Children will be supplied with hope and armed with the truth to see that they have a future to look forward to!!

    GO GO, JOHNNY GO!!!

    ***McCain/Palin ‘08!***

    WOOHOO!! LET’S ROLL!!!

    :)

    More on “troopergate”:
    http://www.adn.com/politics/story/476430.html

“As the investigation got under way in 2005, Wooten was in the midst of a bitter divorce from Palin’s sister, Molly McCann. The couple was fighting over custody of their two young children. Accusations flew from both sides.

Troopers eventually investigated 13 issues and found four in which Wooten violated policy or broke the law or both:

    • Wooten used a Taser on his stepson. (who was ten, Kahn)

    • He illegally shot a moose.

    • He drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion.

    • He told others his father-in-law would “eat a f’ing lead bullet” if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce.

Beyond the investigation sparked by the family, trooper commanders saw cause to discipline or give written instructions to correct Wooten seven times since he joined the force, according to Grimes’ letter to Wooten.

Those incidents included: a reprimand in January 2004 for negligent damage to a state vehicle; a January 2005 instruction after being accused of speeding, unsafe lane changes, following too closely and not using turn signals in his state vehicle; a June 2005 instruction regarding personal cell phone calls; an October 2005 suspension from work after getting a speeding ticket; and a November 2005 memo “to clarify duty hours, tardiness and personal business during duty time.”"

Good idiot liberals - run on THIS. I mean, all he did was attack a kid with a taser the same way you went after them on the web and in the press over the weekend. I can sure see why you think he was OK.

  • 60. Kahn  |  September 5th, 2008 at 1:18 am

Go to the Alaska sites to get the real picture. The people love her, 80% approval rating. She cleaned house big time. Too bad Illinois, DC, and New Jersey couldn’t do that.

  • 61. cam  |  September 5th, 2008 at 1:27 am

Is this the same John McCain that lost to Bush in South Carolina due to push polling that suggested that McCain had a black baby out of wedlock?
Is this the same McCain whose wife Cindy was labled a drug addict by the Right Wing slime machine?
Is this the same McCain that many on the right feigned doubts about like a bunch of Brier Rabbits?

No, its the same McCain but with better packaging and marketing. Further, if past is prologue it might as well be George Bush for a third term. As we all now know he voted in lockstep with Bush 90% of the time. Not exactly a maverick.

  • 62. cam  |  September 5th, 2008 at 1:34 am

    Kahn,
Oh jealousy, oh jealousy. If you can’t achieve it or you can’t understand it, make fun of it. More sour grapes. Anyone who has the opprotunity to go to Harvard would take it. But if you’re the supporter of a second rate sportscaster for VP you will find any reason to take pot shots at people who make you feel inferior. So sad. Republicans always the victims.

  • 63. Mark Noonan  |  September 5th, 2008 at 1:42 am

    Phil,

ROFL…”has no idea what she’s doing”!!!! That is the funniest laugh line of the night…this lady verbally eviscerated the left and for you to try and pretend otherwise is idiotic. Admit it: She gave a great speech which was full of meaning and resonance. Obama gave a speech like that last week, ya know? I can admit it about Obama, why can’t you admit it about Palin? What are you, some sort of Nancy-boy afraid of strong women?

  • 64. Jeremiah  |  September 5th, 2008 at 1:55 am

    cam,

You’re taking what everybody else says bad about John and then taking them as “facts”.

Look at what he’s accomplished, what he’s sacrificed for you. John McCain has given his all for all, and there’s not one person who can say one bad thing about his character. Yet, you still hate him because he does what is right.

And look at how you’ve trashed Gov. Palin just because she had a baby with down-syndrome and you people hated her for that, because she cares for LIFE!

I tell you what, people are getting sick and tired of the Democrats, because what’s running the Democrat party are nothing but evil darkness, and when that evil starts to rear its ugly head, such as the Code Pink Protestors, that’s when truth comes alive like a beautiful fresh lilly bursting open on a crisp spring morning.

    CHANGE IS COMING TO AMERICA!!

To Dearly beloved Obamacrats … ITISOVER!!!

So you can just getty up, and BE GONE!!!

    Ondeley, Ondelay, eeebaaa, eeebaaaa!!!

  • 65. Catfish  |  September 5th, 2008 at 2:00 am

Kahn you have been saying this for days…..The kid wanted to know what it felt like and it was on the lowest setting, it was not in a rage nor as a punishment.

Now i am IN NO WAY saying that is ok. However, you do keep misconstruing that part of the story. He was having fun with his kid. Please PLEASE continue to list that as one of the troopers problems, but do it straight. The facts are actually on your side here, no need to embellish…….

  • 66. FactCheck  |  September 5th, 2008 at 4:22 am

She gave a great speech which was full of meaning and resonance.

Well, aside from all the lies and attacks…sure. It has meaning and resonance. Assuming you had already decided to like her.

  • 67. steinerla  |  September 5th, 2008 at 6:57 am

Seriously, Jeremiah? You don’t stand on the corner with a “the end is near” sign, do you? I thought I recognized you!

  • 68. js  |  September 5th, 2008 at 7:05 am

    lies?

I dont know that Palin told any lies. I have come to learn by solid experience that when a journalist makes accusations instead of report the news in the MSM, its not a reliable source of information. We cant seriously say that what some reporter accuses has any validity, ecspecially when they omit so much details.

lies…no…i dont think so…certainly there is no reputable source of information providing us with any real proof of lies…

  • 69. js  |  September 5th, 2008 at 7:11 am

strange thing about going to harvard…

had a friend that was going…he was arrested and charged with possession of pot…harvard said goodbye…

then someone like obama openly admits to having used cocain…in his own book…thats not fair…where are the charges for illegal use of a controlled substance? why not charge obama…his own words is an admission of guilt…his brain is addled by the use of drugs…we already know that, both from his rhetorical hype and his lack of luster in his career…

there are people in jail based solely on thier coffession to a criminal act…obama is a con anyways…he would fit right in….

  • 70. yekepyt  |  September 5th, 2008 at 8:32 am

    Hi, A-10,

Yes, McCain graduated from Annapolis, but with “marginal” grades. He was near the bottom of his class, so while technically a “ring knocker” he was more of what we would call a “poor performer.”

Now, there’s no kind of affirmative action like the kind you get in the Navy if your dad and grampa are four-star admirals. Do you think that bottom-of-the-class, otherwise-forgettable John McCain benefited from this affirmative action? Naw, of course you don’t.

By the way, you’re down to just one spelling error now (”interrupted”). Looks like my efforts are paying off, and that makes me feel good. Bravo!

  • 71. neocon  |  September 5th, 2008 at 8:50 am

Democrats just need to face the cold truth and that is that McCain laid out a practical transitional energy plan and a plan to shake up Washington which are both far superior than anything Obama has ever presented.

It’s time the cocaine using Harvard educated lawyer and his plagerizinf sidekick say something concrete rather than platitudes and arrogant promises.

Maverick McCain and Palin the Punisher are what this contry needs and not the MoveOn.org bought and paid for candidates.

  • 72. majoriot  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:00 pm

    Hmmmm…Interesting ploy.

McCain imitates Obama, then Palin can pull in the far right extremists.

Im glad you mentioned affirmative action……

Before graduating from Columbia University in 1983, Mr. Obama had written to civil rights organizations and to black elected officials looking for work. No one wrote back.

He worked brief stints at two different jobs, but unemployed two years later, Mr. Obama answered an advertisement for a Chicago grass-roots organizer. With the devastating demise of the steel industry, Mr. Kellman was trying to work with blacks in the city and whites in the suburbs to salvage manufacturing jobs. Mr. Kellman, who is white, was looking for a black organizer to assist him.

New evidence has emerged that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was closely associated as early as age 25 to a key adviser to a Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding members of the Black Panther

Sutton did not say why al-Mansour was helping Obama, how he discovered him, or from whom he was raising money on Obama’s behalf.

Although many Americans have never heard of Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour (his full name), he is well known within the black community as a lawyer, an orthodox Muslim, a black nationalist, an author, an international deal-maker, an educator, and an outspoken enemy of Israel.

A graduate of Howard University with a law degree from the University of California, al-Mansour sits on numerous corporate boards, including the Saudi African Bank and Chicago-based LaGray Chemical Co. LaGray, which was formed to do business in Africa, counts former Nigerian President General Abdusalam Abubakar on its advisory board.

“Among the founding members (of the Association) were community leaders such as Khalid Al-Mansour (known then as Don Warden); future Judges Henry Ramsey and Thelton Henderson; future Congressman and Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, and future Black Panthers Huey Newton and Bobby Seale,” the Democratic representative’s statement said.

    ies?

I dont know that Palin told any lies.

Well, now you do know that Palin told lies. Or, if you prefer something more in-depth (I know you don’t, but I’d like to post this anyway), here’s the rundown.

But I’m sure you’ll keep on claiming she didn’t lie. Regardless, it’s always funny to see you wingnuts get all hyped up about a speech, then come to find out later that the stuff you love is false. A decent person would then correct themselves as they would not want to make lies the basis of your support. Unfortunately, I see no such actions among you.

  • 76. FactCheck  |  September 5th, 2008 at 12:46 pm

Oh, my two favorite parts about McCain’s speech:

    1) The part where he claimed to be against “partisan rancor” the day after his party’s convention was mostly just partisan rancor.

    2) The list quoted at the top where he promotes community service the day after his party repeatedly denigrated and made snide put-downs of community service.

I’m not surprised by the hypocrisy, mind you. After all, this is a convention whose big pitch is “Only we can clean up the mess that we made! You need change from us, so vote for…us!”
