“I Will Vote for Sarah Palin…” Preliminary Ratings Estimate Shows McCain Got More Viewers Than Obama (UPDATE)

The Sexist Slander of Sarah Palin

September 5th, 2008 at 12:25pm Kevin Patrick

Yesterday, Politico had this revealing story on the sexist treatment of Sarah Palin:

Sarah Palin found some unlikely allies Wednesday as leading academics and even former top aides to Hillary Rodham Clinton endorsed the Republican charge that John McCain’s running mate has been subject to a sexist double standard by the news media and Democrats.

While that story of confirmation from Hillary’s campaign may be surprising, the media continues unabashedly in it’s contempt for the strong, accomplished and popular Governor continues to rear its ugly head.

Last night you had the disgusting Martin Peretz post:

If Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi had been decked out like soccer mom Sarah last night the G.O.P. would have called them tramps. Why, a hem two inches below the knee! So risque! I giver her her due: she is pretty like a cosmetics saleswoman at Macy’s.

Let’s face the truth: If Bristol were Joe Biden’s daughter or, worse yet, Barack Obama’s, the epithet “slut” would be on everyone’s tongue in St. Paul. But since she is Palin’s daughter she has been treated as if she were a saint, maybe Mother Theresa incarnate.

Now you have Time magazine writer referring to her as a “half term Governor.” Les Jones is on the case:

A Time writer refers to Palin as a “half-term” governor. I love it - the contempt just drips from the page. Has any Time writer referred to Obama as a “one-third term Senator”? I’m guessing not.

And this morning, Job Biden himself called Governor Palin the Lieutenant Governor of Alaska.

And these are just three off the top of my head! She has them rattled and the media will continue to slander her through election day. It’s becoming more and more clear that Katie Couric was right. The media is sexist:

referring to her as a “half term Governor.”

Is the statement factually incorrect? Now stating the facts is sexist?

Man, you really suck at this whole tough-guy thing.

    From Dick Morris:

    Democrats in Trouble

The turning point was the designation of Palin and the personal attacks on her. By stirring up a storm, Democrats assured that Palin would speak to 37 million Americans - just a million fewer than watched Obama’s acceptance speech.

Anecdotal evidence already suggests that women may have a gut reaction to the establishment’s sexist assault on a woman candidate - and flock to McCain. They’ve seen him stake everything on this one big move of turning toward a woman - in direct contrast to Obama’s deliberate decision not to name a woman.

They’ve seen the media and Democrats gang up on her and do their worst. And they’ve seen Palin stand up and stuff the challenge right back down the establishment’s throat. All this may have created an entirely new dynamic in the race.

FactCheck… Are the following questions factually incorrect?

Is stating the facts about Senator Obama’s limited experience racist?
Is showing his connection to domestic terrorist like the member of the Weathermen racist?
Is showing Senator Obama’s relations with a corrupt lobbyist racist?
Is compairing Senator Obama’s record next to Gov Palin’s record racist?
(take the above questions and substitute the word ‘racist’ for ‘a vicious attack’)

All this may have created an entirely new dynamic in the race.

Kimberly, I don’t think there’s any “may have” about it. The Palin candidacy and her treatment by Obama’s surrogates in the media is a wild card that the Obama campaign just never anticipated. And attempting to undo the damage the media has done with it’s vicious attacks is going to be like putting toothpaste back in the tube. It will be fun to watch, though.

    Very fun, indeed, spook.

Clinton supporters (according to Clinton blogs) will:

    A) Not vote for president
    B) Write in Hillary Clinton
    C) Vote McCain-Palin

Granted, all 18M are not going to do the above, but from what I’ve read, a good many will. All three options is a vote against Obama.

BTW, the Obama camp is trying to erase the damage by sending out three strong female Democrats to campaign, hereon referred to as Crest, Agua Fresh, and Colgate. :-)

Hey, let’s see what Sarah Palin has to say about the idea that attacking or even criticizing a female candidate is sexist:

“When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, ‘Man, that doesn’t do us any good.’ I mean, work harder, prove yourself to an even greater degree that you’re capable, that you’re gonna be the best candidate.”

But in fairness, she said that back in March, when she thought it would only apply to Hillary Clinton and not her.

I’d say we should ask her how she rectifies her hypocrisy, but she’s so tough that we aren’t allowed to ask her any questions. And now she’s being whisked back to Alaska to go into hiding. Because she’s so tough.

Fact Check needs to check his facts. She’s been on the campaign trial with McCain all day. Also I think she’s proved herself to an even greater degree with that speech on wednesday. So the fact is she backed up what she said.

The Republican distraction is working to perfection. Corporate media is swallowing it hook line and sinker, but those that count wont fall for this. People are losing their homes. Unemployment just kicked up to 6%. Republican Reaganomics has failed this nation yet one more time. McCain is not the person to get us out of this economic mess.

Palin is a nice lady and Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly should be held accountable for saying this about parents with pregnant daughters:

Limbaugh: I would certainly hope so, but it’s long past time for this to happen. The parents here are the culprits!

O’Reilly: But here the blame falls primarily on the parents of the girl, who obviously have little control over her

These vicious attacks could very well be made of the nice lady Palin.

So.. Factcheck… going to answer the question?

A lot of facts that been pointed out about Obama and the libs have called them ‘racist and vicious attacks”.

So, do you have an answer or are you just going to ignore it or attack the messenger like the other lib trolls that visit this site?
