I don’t understand it either. Why is McCain taking the heat for the economic fallout of bad Donk policy!? If McCain’s campaign is unable or unwilling to assign the blame where it belongs I fear we conservatives may be saying “what happened” in November. The sole consolation I find in this prospect is the knowledge that if Obama does win he will screw it up so bad it’ll make Carter’s administration look great by comparison. I can’t imagine the mess he’ll leave in his wake.

    Rightlane:

If McCain does not start to throw some heavy punches only the miracle of Palin will save his campaign.

To date and in my opinion, he does not seem to have a clue about fighting an election, either that or he is surrounded by a lot of clueless old dregs.

Maybe he should just stand aside for Palin.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t Republicans in charge of both White House and Congress for all of one and most of the other the past 8 years? By what logic can you be blaming Democrats alone?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of either party, I believe them to both be corrupt, but to keep on with this seemingly stupid finger-pointing and not except any blame for what’s going down when Republicans have been in charge is more than denial, it’s partisanism at its worst and stupidity beyond a magnitude to measure.

The GOP does bear some responsibility, Com-n-sense, but, they did not put the policies in place, and when they tried to fix them, the Democrats blocked them every step of the way by playing procedural games.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t Republicans in charge of both White House and Congress for all of one and most of the other the past 8 years?”

Majority - some of the time.

Control? - Hardly. If Republicans had control - tax cuts would be permanent, we would be drilling in ANWR, Social Security would have been reformed - the list goes on. Having a majority, does not merit control. If Republicans had control, then the obstructionist Democrats would have been powerless.

The Republicans tried TWICE to establish oversight and regulation to Fannie and Freddie and TWICE Democrats squashed them - That is how much “CONTROL” they had.

Using your logic, Democrats have had CONTROL over both houses for almost two years and in that time they have not proposed any legislation to regulate the industry if it was such a concern to them.

Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and the rest of the Democrats defended Fannie and Freddie as “solid” and “sound” as late as July, in order to protect another one of their failed socialist programs. Their “concern ” for “lack of regulation” is purely political.

There is plenty of responsibility to go around but the arrogant Democrats will not accept a single shred, even when caught in their lies.

Interesting point, as Danish brings up: The Dems had control of the Senate till 2002. Lost it for 4 years. Now have it again. So, Barney and Company have had the Senate for half of Bush’s terms
