Scary.
Just 2% of voters who supported Barack Obama on Election Day obtained perfect or near-perfect scores on a post election test which gauged their knowledge of statements and scandals associated with the presidential tickets during the campaign, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows.
Zogby Statement on Ziegler poll.
Only 54% of Obama voters were able to answer at least half or more of the questions correctly.
The 12-question, multiple-choice survey found questions regarding statements linked to Republican presidential candidate John McCain and his vice-presidential running-mate Sarah Palin were far more likely to be answered correctly by Obama voters than questions about statements associated with Obama and Vice-President–Elect Joe Biden. The telephone survey of 512 Obama voters nationwide was conducted Nov. 13-15, 2008, and carries a margin of error of +/- 4.4 percentage points. The survey was commissioned by John Ziegler, author of The Death of Free Speech, producer of the recently released film “Blocking the Path to 9/11″ and producer of the upcoming documentary film, Media Malpractice..
And of course there is a lot more at HowObamaGotElected.com.

Their main theme, apparently, is that Obama voters were “ignorant” because they hadn’t absorbed the wingnuts’ favorite smears about Obama during the campaign. The site claims that it commissioned a “Zogby Poll” which came up with the following results:
512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
And yet…..
Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we “gave” one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
Now, the data about the voters’ ability to correctly identify facts about Sarah Palin — as well as their understandable confusion about what Palin actually said about Russia, considering that in fact she did say that one could see Russia from Alaska — is essentially meaningless; a survey of McCain voters would almost certainly come up with similar statistics.
But as Nate Silver says, this is flat-out push-polling. Look at the questions in the first half of the data summary — nearly every one of the supposed “facts” is either simply false or a grotesque distortion.
What he said.
Have you ever blamed the fact that Republicans are against funding our schools? Ever? The 57 states thing was a joke. They only showed nine voters out of 512 – a reasonable proportion, when you think about it. As for the national polls, do you remember, a month ago, how you all said that polls like Zogby and Gallup were wrong?
Just goes to prove … liberals are friggin’ dumb.

…liberals are friggin’ dumb.
Really? That must be why Conservatives shun higher education. Or maybe it’s why scientists are one of the most left-leaning demographics. Or why Obama went to Yale and Harvard. Or why Conservatives can always count on uneducated Southerners for their vote.
“Just goes to prove … liberals are friggin’ dumb.”
It would be dumb to assume all people who disagree with your politics are dumb.
What were Gutterball’s grades at Yale and Harvard, eh dork? How do you know he had good grades? You have a crystal ball?
Not smears, Barrasso, but unpleasant FACTS about Obama and Biden. Biden’s plagiarism, Obama’s “57 states” gaffe, Obama’s winning an election by getting opponents thrown off the ballot, etc. are just as much FACTS as Palin’s wardrobe and pregnant daughter, and McCain’s failure to recall how many houses he (and his wife) own. These are NOT smears, because they are TRUE. On the other hand, Palin allegedly saying that she could see Russia from her house was a smear, because she did NOT say that. Tina Fey said that, while parodying Palin on Saturday Night Live. Another version of Ziegler’s video appears on HotAir, without any Hannity and Colmes reporting.
Obama’s “57 states” was a joke? So were Fuzzy Zoeller’s idiotic statements about Tiger Woods, or so he claimed.
Hopefully the new comment registration system will help cleanup abusive, derogatory comments such as those made above.
just as a matter of point – Obama didn’t go to Yale and Harvard. He went to Columbia and Harvard.
That must be why Conservatives shun higher education.
You know, I’m hoping that this will be one of the things that they reverse course on now that they aren’t in power. They’ve spent the past 8 years denigrating education, intelligence, facts, all that good stuff. If, as part of their current embrace of things they’d been shunning, they become pro-intelligence, that would be a welcome development.

wouldn’t you agree?
He stated in his interview with Hannity and Colmes that he was making a statement about the media coverage, not the intelligence of the people themselves. Based on the media coverage what did they knew about the candidates. He said he couldn’t do the same thing with McCain supporters and get the same poll results because the media was so biased on the verge of media malpractice in favor of Obama. Bottom line they were misinformed by the media. That was his point.
Unlike conservatives like kinberly who voted for Bush Jr……twice.
Did They Know MLK Jr. Was A Republican
Did they wonder at the mixed feelings MLK Jr. would have had on inauguration day given that he was a member of the Republican Party and had spent decades battling against Democrats for his peoples freedom.
It should come as no surprise to you that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In his era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why you ask? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has always championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. As one contemporary of his so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S’s: slavery, secession, segregation and socialism.
It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery, passed the discriminatory Black Codes and the Jim Crow laws. It was the Democrats who started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s.
During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs.
It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman’s issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

Did They Know MLK Jr. Was A Republican?
I would not doubt it if he was. However, that was 40 years ago. How would he feel today? How would he feel knowing that there isn’t a single Black Republican in the senate? How would he feel if he knew that the former Republican Senator, Trent Lott, got all nostalgic about the Dixiecrats at Strom Thurmonds 100th birthday bash? It is an unfortunate fact that Republicans voted more often for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but it was the Liberal wing of the Democratic party that ended segregation. How do I know this? Because, your old majority leader, Newt Gingrich, said it upon taking the gavel in 1994. Also, in the few years after the Civil Rights Act was passed, the Republicans began heavily favoring people who didn’t support the act. People like Goldwater and Nixon – the two subsequent Republican candidates for president. Not only that, but the Republican party is dominant in the modern South, a place that still acts like it’s fighting the Civil War, the people who protested putting up a statue of Lincoln in Richmond, people who carried around signs that said “Lincoln: Wanted for war crimes.” This is the modern day. GET IT? Also, have you ever heard about the African American Leadership Council? The fifteen person advisory panel included people like Sean Hannity, Grover Norquist, and Gary Bauer, but only two actual African Americans. Als check out these facts that you refuse to recognize:
After being on the decrease under Clinton, Black povery is now on the rise under Bush. In fact, it is at its highest level in 23 years. Republicans favor the already priveledged. Who makes up the already priveledged? White people. Who got purged from the polls in Florida in 2000? Black people.
So there. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
It was a push poll. Sorry, but it was.
For example, Obama NEVER said that his energy policies would “bankrupt the coal industry.” Didn’t happen. He said something that was interpreted to mean that by the right wingnuts, but he did not, in fact, say that. So it isn’t a FACT.
I mean, what if I pulled a number out of my keyster like “67% of Republicans could not identify George W. Bush as the only President to be pulled over for drunk driving.” Fair? Not according to the righties who think Chimpy walks on water…
donkmule
Or why Obama went to Yale and Harvard.
Ummmm THAT was W that went to both.
B.Hussein only went to ONE as a muslem supported AA student.
fakeactor
George W. Bush as the only President to be pulled over for drunk driving.” Fair?
OR
Kennedy being the only president with an active case of CHLAMYDIA while serving!
Who knows what B.J. slic HAS, he never would release his med records.
cyberbadactor
Not according to the righties who think Chimpy walks on water
CHIMPY? ………..I LIKE that. Since you leftards have formed a moniker for the President of the USA as “chimpy”, I say lets keep it around for at least the next four years.
B.husseins new title will be “CHIMPY”
howener to be fair to the original W, we will add an O to it so we can differentiate between the two.
obomanations new official name is O-CHIMPY
Thanks lefties I think it is very apropos!
You don’t just get to be called Chimpy on a whim-you have to earn that title. If Pres Obama meets the bush standard for chimpness (22% approval, 85% of the country thinks were on the wrong track) then by all means call him the chimp in chief
neolozinger
<You don’t just get to be called Chimpy on a whim-you have to earn that title.
Actually it was based on his looks.
if you remember the cartoons? and of course that little morph vid.
I thought O-CHIMP, with those ears, facial features ETC. fits the tab. better than W.
So after 8 years
WELCOME – POTUS – elect,….. O-CHIMP !
Ummmm THAT was W that went to both.

We have
The Great Society was a set of domestic programs proposed or enacted in the United States on the initiative of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Two main goals of the Great Society social reforms were the elimination of poverty and of racial injustice. New major spending programs that addressed education, medical care, urban problems, and transportation were launched during this period. The Great Society in scope and sweep resembled the New Deal domestic agenda of Franklin D. Roosevelt, but differed sharply in types of programs enacted.
The War on Poverty began with a $1 billion appropriation in 1964 and spent another $2 billion in the following two years. It spawned dozens of programs, among them the Job Corps, whose purpose was to help disadvantaged youth develop marketable skills; the Neighborhood Youth Corps, the first summer jobs established to give poor urban youths work experience and to encourage them to stay in school; Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA), a domestic version of the Peace Corps, which placed concerned citizens with community-based agencies to work towards empowerment of the poor; the Model Cities Program for urban redevelopment; Upward Bound, which assisted poor high school students entering college; legal services for the poor; the Food Stamps program; the Community Action Program, which initiated local Community Action Agencies charged with helping the poor become self-sufficient; and Project Head Start, which offered preschool education for poor children.
A Trillion in Ten
Are we overstating it?, Taxpayers should be so lucky. According to press-reported
estimates, former Senator Bill Bradley’s health care proposal would cost $1.1 trillion over its first
10 years. Together with his other proposals, his 10-year price tag could be as high as $1.5 trillion.
As a result, Bradley has proposed $124 billion in new taxes to offset the cost. Vice President Al
Gore’s health care plan is much smaller by comparison
-
$312 billion over its first 10 years
-
but with his other proposals added to it, this total package comes to approximately $1.2 trillion over
10 years. Each of these plans exceeds the most recent (1999) Congressional Budget Office (CBO)
estimates of the non-Social Security surplus over the next 10 years: $996 billion
More hope and change for you from an old Obama supporter.
This clip from Hannity’s America shows Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour, a black nationalist and outspoken enemy of Israel ranting against Jews and whites. Tariq al-Mansour sought the sponsorship of prominent friends for Barack Obama’s entry into Harvard Law school.
Obama’s Harvard Years: Questions Swirl
Tuesday, September 23, 2008 6:11 PM
By: Kenneth R. Timmerman Article Font Size
How exactly did Barack Obama pay for his Harvard Law School education?
The way the Obama campaign has answered the question was simply hard work and student loans.
But new questions have been raised about Obama’s student loans and Obama’s ties to a radical Muslim activist who reportedly was raising money for Obama’s Harvard studies during the years 1988 to 1991.
The allegations first surfaced in late March, when former Manhattan Borough president Percy Sutton told a New York cable channel that a former business partner who was “raising money” for Obama had approached him in 1988 to help Obama get into Harvard Law School.
In the interview, Sutton says he first heard of Obama about twenty years ago from Khalid Al-Mansour, a Black Muslim and Black Nationalist who was a “mentor” to the founders of the Black Panther party at the time the party was founded in the early 1960s.
Sutton described al-Mansour as advisor to “one of the world’s richest men,” Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal.
Prince Alwaleed catapulted to fame in the United States after the September 11 attacks, when New York mayor Rudy Guiliani refused his $10 million check to help rebuild Manhattan, because the Saudi prince hinted publicly that America’s pro-Israel policies were to blame for the attacks.
Sutton knew Al-Mansour well, since the two men had been business partners and served on several corporate boards together.
As Sutton remembered, Al-Mansour was raising money for Obama’s education and seeking recommendations for him to attend Harvard Law School.
“I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him,” Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter. “The friend’s name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas.”

Seriously…….are you in the 7th grade?

Democrats: The Missing Years
By Jeffrey Lord
Published 8/12/2008 12:08:03 AM
Missing: 52 years of history.
Ignored: The other 113 years that take the Democrats from their birth in 1800 to 1965.
As Democrats prepare to nominate Senator Barack Obama to be the first black president, the Democratic National Committee and its chairman Howard Dean have whitewashed the party’s horrific and lengthy record of racism. The omission is in the section of the DNC website that describes the party’s history. The missing history raises the obvious question of whether the Democrats, unable or simply unwilling to put their party on record as taking direct responsibility for one of the worst racial crimes of the ages, will be able to run a campaign free of the racial animosities it has regularly brought both to American presidential campaigns and American political and social life in general.
What else to make of the official party history as presented by the DNC on its website? It is a history so sanitized of historical reality it makes Stalin look like historian David McCullough.
The DNC website section labeled “Party History,” linked here, is in fact scrubbed clean of the not-so-little dirty secret that fueled Democrats’ political successes for over a century and a half and made American life a hell on earth for black Americans. Literally, the DNC official history, which begins with the creation of the party in 1800, gets to the creation of the DNC itself in 1848 and then…poof!…the next sentence says: “As the 19th Century came to a close, the American electorate changed more and more rapidly.” It quickly heads into a riff on poor immigrants coming to America.
In a stroke, 52 years of Democrat history vanishes. Disappeared faster than the truth in the Clinton administration. Why would this be? Allow me to sketch in a few facts from those missing 52 years. For that matter, lets add in the facts from the party history before and after those 52 years, since they aren’t mentioned by the Democrats’ National Committee either.
So what’s missing?
* There is no reference to the number of Democratic Party platforms supporting slavery. There were 6 from 1840-1860.
* There is no reference to the number of Democratic presidents who owned slaves. There were 7 from 1800-1861
* There is no reference to the number of Democratic Party platforms that either supported segregation outright or were silent on the subject. There were 20, from 1868-1948.
* There is no reference to “Jim Crow” as in “Jim Crow laws,” nor is there reference to the role Democrats played in creating them. These were the post-Civil War laws passed enthusiastically by Democrats in that pesky 52-year part of the DNC’s missing years. These laws segregated public schools, public transportation, restaurants, rest rooms and public places in general (everything from water coolers to beaches). The reason Civil Rights heroine Rosa Parks became famous is that she sat in the front of a “whites only” bus, the “whites only” designation the direct result of Democrats.

Obama did not to to Yale. Just more proof that you Obama-voters are just a tad bit uneducated about the issues of this recent campaign. You’re not stupid–just blindly in love with the messiah/holy one/Obama.
I watch a variety of news programs and read many different papers, and I voted for McCain. I am from the South as well. He had more experience and wasn’t such a freak. That doesn’t make me racist or stupid–that means that I used my right to vote in an intelligent way.
Sorry, it was Columbia – my bad.

I’m not saying that all southerners are stupid or that all stupid people are southerners. That would sound like something Anee Coulter would say (if she was a leftist). I’m just saying that in general, Southern sentiment is rather… cofederate. I mean, South Carolina still flies the freakin’ confederate flag! You know many Americans Osama killed? Four thousand, tops. You know how many Americans the Confederates killed? 360,000. Btw, I was born in the south, lived there until I was 18, and then vowed never to return.
