Amazing What Will Come Out After an Election

by Mark Noonan on November 21st, 2008 at 03:58am

This couldn’t come out two weeks ago?

A new study of the global future by U.S. intelligence agencies suggests that Al Qaeda may be on the decline, having alienated Muslim supporters with its indiscriminate killing and inattention to the practical problems of poverty, unemployment and education.

While not contradicting intelligence assessments suggesting that Al Qaeda remains a major threat with a strong presence in the tribal areas of Pakistan, the report says the group “may decay sooner” than many experts have assumed because of severe weaknesses: “unachievable strategic objectives, inability to attract broad-based support, and self-destructive actions.”

For seven years now the left has been telling us that Bush Administration actions have made Al Qaeda stronger, and now we see that this isn’t the case. Of course, if our pinhead, liberal friends would really pay attention to the nonsense they are spoon fed by their leaders, they’d realize that what they’ve been mindlessly repeating has been the phrase “Al Qaeda is stronger than any time since 9/11″…which phrase is precisely meaningless, but it sounds to a leftist like President Bush’s actions have made it stronger. Flush with seeming success immediately post-9/11, Al Qaeda reached its peak strength…only to smashed in Afghanistan and then bled to death in Iraq. To say, at any point since 2002 that Al Qaeda is “stronger than any time since 9/11″ is to say “its not as weak as it was when we crushed the life out of it in late 2001 and early 2002″. But, out lefties are mindless, anti-Bush, hate-filled robots, and so they bought the story that fighting terrorists makes them stronger.

Another thing the lefties never seem to understand is that the terrorists are engaged in battle with the United States armed forces. To think that there was ever any other outcome to Iraq other than complete victory was to be merely ignorant of the relative strengths of the most powerful nation in human history, and a few thousand ragged terrorists. Right from the start, the only way we could lose would be by giving up short of victory - which event the left worked very hard to achieve. This is something which will flabbergast future generations - the most free and advanced nation in the world goes to battle against slave-masters from the most backwards nations on earth, and the left decided that it was the free and advanced nation which not only would lose, but should lose.

Well, that is that - the War on Terrorism is won. There might be some hard battles - especially in Afghanistan - but the basic thing we were fighting for has been achieved. Right now, terrorists and their State sponsors know that to use terrorism to impose upon the United States is a suicidal act. A few die hards have not got the full picture, but as long as we remain firm of purpose, the chances of a terrorist attack upon the United States are small. The US armed forces led by President Bush and backed by the better elements in Congress have seen the matter through - Obama is being handed victory on silver platter.

Pray he doesn’t mess it up.

I wouldn’t go that far. Won in Iraq? Yes. In Afghanistan? Far from it. Al Qaeda isn’t doing so well there, but the Taliban are still strong. There are also other places where AQ are hiding out. And those Somali pirates are just getting started.

    Terror Morale = Obamas Timetable
Every sound bite, every campaign trail demand for time tables and withdrawals from Iraq or Afghanistan strengthens and emboldens our terrorist enemies. Such statements are like recruiting posters to the “faithful”, who know that if they can just keep up the pressure the Obama & The Democrats will walk away from Americas obligations as well as our duties to ourselves and the world.
These may be unwanted obligations but they are ours nonetheless. If we walk away we will face stronger terror recruiting and weakened Muslim governments who will ignore our cries to root out the breeding grounds for terror in their own lands for decades to come. If we leave before Iraq can stand on its own we will throw the oil markets into chaos and we will encourage terrorists to attempt to create Muslim states all over the region. We will then be faced with terrorism actively expanding and exporting toward the West.
We are at a historic crossroads and to some we have chosen a path that is unacceptable. Unfortunately walking away is not an option because we saw the results of that in the 1990’s and we need to fully support this war at all cost. Make sure you remember that when you consider walking away or support such actions. Millions may die based on the choices you make and countries may fall as happened when your parents & grandparents balked after the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. To our soldiers who have fought and died for hard won victories such an action to will mirror the hippie radicals who spit on them upon their return from Vietnam.

The Taliban are stronger than ever & are
Pastun who don’t recognise the Brit drawn Afghan/Pak border.

40 million strong, the Pastun have driven off many invaders from their mountainous homeland including the Brits & Russians.

The Taliban have reconstituted since we diverted combat power fm Afghanistan to Iraq. Now we must increase our forces to re-engage.

wanna see how difficult it is for our guys, watch this excellent Frontline documentary:

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/warbriefing/

and we face an even worse threat internally w the rise of the international criminal gang MS13.

these guys are as terrifing as al Qaeda, & damage our country EVERY DAY!

‘MS-13′ is one of nation’s most dangerous gangs
In-depth look its members, enemies and its threat to our national security”

lets don’t take our eyes off the ball this time.

I agree with bigfoot … far from over. It’s nice to see that AQ’s supporters are finally waking up. How many suicide bombers and innocents needed to die before they realized AQ did not have their best interest at heart? Crazy.

I’d like to take this time to thank our wonderful men and women in the military and President Bush! We really do have the best of the best in our military. Let’s hope Gutterball doesn’t cut our military/defense like he stated in the infamous youtube. That would be a disaster for the US and the GWOT.

  6. Sergei Andropov says:

“This couldn’t come out two weeks ago?”

It’s nothing new. I’ve known it for quite some time now. Of course, I follow the War on Terror quite a bit closer than most people.

“For seven years now the left has been telling us that Bush Administration actions have made Al Qaeda stronger, and now we see that this isn’t the case.”

It is no longer the case, but it was. Al-Qaeda peaked around 2005-6, and has since declined, largely due to its own foolish errors and inherent flaws.

Also, don’t forget about al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, which is still no small force.

“Another thing the lefties never seem to understand is that the terrorists are engaged in battle with the United States armed forces.”

They are not only engaged in battle, they are engaged in war. As such, there are larger strategic considerations to take into account. In a battle, each side starts out with a certain amount of resources (troops, tanks, etc.). In a war, one of the major tasks is the acquisition and management of those resources — that is, things such as recruitment, training, and deployment. In the past, such resource management would be dealt with by outmaneuvering your opponent, or by disrupting their supply lines. In WWII, one of the primary reasons why Germany was defeated was that we took out their manufacturing capacity. In the post-modern warfare of today, however, with its lack of conventional units and fronts, one of the most important things affecting this acquisition and management is popular support. In order for a fighting force to be dispersed into a civilian population, the civilians generally have to accept them. Even more importantly, non-state combatants require popular support in order to recruit new fighters. Although we have always unquestionably had the upper hand in battle, until relatively recently we did not have the upper hand in strategy, and our current position is still shaky.

“Well, that is that - the War on Terrorism is won. There might be some hard battles - especially in Afghanistan - but the basic thing we were fighting for has been achieved.”

The basic thing we’ve been fighting for is justice. Justice lurks in Waziristan.

“Right now, terrorists and their State sponsors know that to use terrorism to impose upon the United States is a suicidal act. ”

Hence the term “suicide bomber”. The Apostasy has never shrunk from death; indeed, it welcomes it.

“Al Qaeda issued a statement that oboma, is a ‘house negro’ !
How come the media, and our local TROLLS arent screaming ‘racism, hate, horrible’ etc and denouncing them on every thread??”

Because it’s not relevant to most threads. If you want to know what the Left is thinking, methinks an openly Republican blog is not the best possible place to find out.

If you’re interested in seeing some lefty analysis of Zawahiri’s message, I have some on my blog.

I recommend everyone watch Frontline’s “War Briefing” re how difficult to defeat the Pastun Taliban in the Afghan/Pak border region.

40 million strong ethnic group, ran off the Brits & Russians, himilayan landscape, funded by narco-trafficing, Pak military sympathy, religious furor.

It’s far from over and they’ve grown stronger.

It’s only because Al Qaeda didn’t have a vote in the election. Don’t you see? Everyone who voted for McCain is a racist accept the blacks who voted for McCain their “Uncle Toms”. At least that is how Jesse Jackson and his ilk referred to Colin Powell BEFORE he pledged his support for Obama. Now he’s just one of the brothers, he’s shed his Uncle Tom image.

The liberals are filled with such hate that in their mind no one can make a decission with out being classified as racist, bigot or prejudice.

YES, that’s just how small their minds are.
