An Interesting Thought

by Matt Margolis on January 14th, 2009 at 08:38am

Some on the left have criticized my attacks on Obama, or my predictions of doom over the next four years, arguing that he hasn’t even taken office yet, and I should “give him a chance.”

Okay, there is something to be said about that. But, I’d like to suggest to the same liberals who claim Barack Obama will “unite this country” or “turn the economy” around to similarly recognize their lack of psychic abilities and stop arguing that he will do all these glorious things and “give him a chance” to actually do these things before declaring him a success.

    Fair enough.

  2. casper says:

Since I haven’t made any predictions, positive or negative, I have no problem with that.

  3. js02 says:

but tell us this matt…are you really that concerned with what they think…or are you just provoking them so we can beat on thier mental midgetry some more?

  4. tiredoflibbs says:

Don’t sweat it. The left will whine no matter what you do Mark.

    Case in point…..

The left whined about the huge costs for Bush’s inauguration 70 million. Between that and the monies spent by Republicans on parties and other inaugural costs, 100-140 million, could have been spent on the Iraq war.

    http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2005/01/20/media_on_inauguration

    Jump to the present….

The whining has stopped for their guy’s inauguration. Gone are the concerns of expenses and costs, while Americans are facing foreclosures and unemployment. Where are the calls to spend the monies elsewhere?

PEBO’s bash is already heading towards double for that of Bush. PEBO has bungled the transition, broke promises of the campaign, appointed socialists to key positions, promised to close GITMO no matter what, pull out our troops ASAP regardless of the situation, catch bin Laden, etc etc.

The negatives outweigh positives and the leftists here whine! Amazing! They have forgotten the whining they did before Bush took office. The man never had a chance before he left the starting gate.

The arrogance of today’s liberals are astounding, but they expect their guy to get fair treatment, despite his promises and actions, but they do not give the same in return.

Hypocrites and lemmings - what a combination!

    Mark

If a middle of the road man/woman had been elected I may buy into the argument.

That is not the present point,
we are a deeply ideologically divided nation. The lines are between (as witnessed here) Godless athiestic, anti Christian, pro homosexual, islamic apologist, rage and hate filled leftists on one side.

On the other are Christian believers (to varying degrees).
The wheat and the chaff are now being separated.
One day soon the chaff will have it’s due judgment and the wheat it’s fulfillment.

The two will never again be together as one.
    for the “harvest is near”.

We have elected a marxist, accused homosexual, and totally raw recruit to be our commander in chief.
An empty suit- AA community organizer to be our “leader”.
We are standing on the edge of the abyss and this man will surely push us in to it.

What a scumbag you are currentmoron.

One man, Larry Sinclair, a con-man with multiple convictions for dishonesty-related offences and having spent numerous years in prison for fraud, makes an allegation against Obama and you of course, believe it.

What a mental midget you are current moron. Fool.

  7. fmrmarine says:

    Thats it blow? LOL

sorry but sometimes the truth just hurts, I guess that explains the childish foolish juvenile rant above.
Nice going it is very telling of your mental instability, and lack of control.

I have never said he can unite this country or turn this country around. He has a HUGE challange ahead of him with the country in the condition he finds it as he takes the oath of office. Never in my life time has a president had so many issues to deal with on his first day of their presidency. So, I say, lets give him a chance and stop the constant harping on everything you can possibly find. I do find him refreshingly intelligent, thoughtful and I do believe that he wants to serve the people of this country in a positive way. You fail to address the issues of the two wars that are going on, the economy in the tank, people loosing their homes, unemployment climbing each month and millions without health care. Who in your life time faced such problems? And who has been in charge for the past eight years. Considering that fact I would think you would curb your criticism until Obama actually makes a big mistake. We will never unite as a country if people like you continue to take the attitude and position that there is no way in hell they will ever give Obama an opportunity to see if he can improve this country. I know fmrmarine, js and some others have nothing but hate in their hearts for this man. It shows their racism and true ignorance. The very fact that we have a new president that wants this country to be united as one nation and not divided as it has been for far too long should give all of us hope that we can once again call ourselves Americans, and not liberal/conservatives, Republica/Democrat etc.

    Two not so interesting thoughts.

#1: the Left won the last election by a landslide… and they won the 2006 midterm election. They lost the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections by the narrowest possible margins. Far from being a small, homogenous fringe group, the Left is a wide-ranging coalition which in fact currently comprises the majority of the American people.

#2. Leftists can and do speak for themselves. If you want to know what the Left thinks, you can listen for yourself. You don’t need Matt Margolis and his ilk to set up a straw man for you.

  10. atheistmule says:

Fmr, if your party adopts the attitude that you showed in post #5, tyhen we will never have a Republican majority in the United States ever again.

  11. William Teach says:

Funny how the same liberals never gave Bush a chance. The same liberals never game Palin a chance when she became the GOP VP candidate. Won’t give any conservative idea a chance. Never gave a Iraq a chance. Come to think of it, many of them were predicting massive casualties if we went in to Afghanistan. They didn’t want to give it a chance in going after Al Qaeda.

They gave the social security plan that Bush brought up no chance. Etc, and so on.

Never say never….with that said -
    so what?
We unlike you, believe in a sovereign God.
Our God is not the state,
We are to work to elect God fearing men and women, if we cant because of the sheer number of the athiests, as voters then we have done our work.
We know after time God will judge sin and destroy the system that produces it.
We have our hope in a divine power, not some corrupt chicago empty suit.

    Obama is one smart cookie.

His inclusive nature is a thing of beauty. He has not taken office yet and he already is winning over some very hard headed Conservatives.

America did a good job in electing Mr. Obama as its 44th. President. Well done!!

  14. js02 says:
