That is what he will deserve to be called if his plan to close Gitmo goes through… as it has already been docmented that terrorists who have already managed to use our system to against us have rejoined al Qaeda.
The emergence of a former Guantánamo Bay detainee as the deputy leader of Al Qaeda’s Yemeni branch has underscored the potential complications in carrying out the executive order President Obama signed Thursday that the detention center be shut down within a year.
The militant, Said Ali al-Shihri, is suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing of the United States Embassy in Yemen’s capital, Sana, in September. He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists before resurfacing with Al Qaeda in Yemen.
His status was announced in an Internet statement by the militant group and was confirmed by an American counterterrorism official.
“They’re one and the same guy,” said the official, who insisted on anonymity because he was discussing an intelligence analysis. “He returned to Saudi Arabia in 2007, but his movements to Yemen remain unclear.”
Bleeding hearts may treat examples like this and other examples with skepticism, but sadly, that is exactly what these terrorists want. It is the same thing with allegations of torture. It was reported a few years ago that al Qaeda’s strategy was to make false claims of torture… those claims would help them take advatage of the American court system, and of course the media.
An al Qaeda handbook preaches to operatives to level charges of torture once captured, a training regime that administration officials say explains some of the charges of abuse at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

A directive lists one mission as “spreading rumors and writing statements that instigate people against the enemy.”
If captured, the manual states, “At the beginning of the trial … the brothers must insist on proving that torture was inflicted on them by state security before the judge. Complain of mistreatment while in prison.”
American bleeding hearts have given credence to bogus claims of torture, which has been the primary justification for closing Gitmo.
One has to wonder if part of al Qaeda’s strategy was to get sleeper cells in America to campaign for Barack Obama. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.

The Pentagon’s dossier on Abu Sayyaf showed that he trained at a terrorist camp outside of Kabul, went to Iran to bring extremists into Afghanistan, and wanted to assassinate a writer on which a mullah had placed a fatwa for his writings. Shihri was fortunate that his review came at a time when the Bush administration was getting enormous pressure to reduce the number of inmates at Gitmo, and Shihri went into the Saudi rehab program. A year later, Shihri disappeared — and now he’s running the AQ network in Yemen.

“We also mustn’t forget that Obama is for giving terrorists in the field Miranda rights, which, as I understand it, if they can’t prove the enemy combatant’s case in a court of law then they have to set them free, to only further our defeat in the fight against those who would seek to do us harm.

Thanks for the ever so eloquent post. Maybe you should research “false imprisonment” or “illegal imprisonment”, or just plain “kidnapping”. The burden of proof is on the government to try and display someone’s guilt. If the government cannot, then they simply have a weak case, if you want to call it a “case” at all. As far as “This is TERRORISTS”, prove it. Oh…wait, it doesn’t have to be proven…as long as Dubya says so.

Oh…I thought you were the type to uphold and defend the constitution (Bill of Rights, etc.) against enemies, foreign and domestic. Assuming you were a Marine at one point, weren’t you required to take the oath? Never heard of Isreal. I have heard of Israel though. If you’re referring to “Israel”, yes, it rings a bell.
I hope you’re not assuming the country is a democracy (in relation to Somalia, Sudan, Iran, Syria, etc.)….your assumption would be as silly as you are. As a matter of curiosity, what’s your take on the President of the United States, Ehud Olmert ordering your boy Dubya (in the middle of a speech) to call Condi, and instruct her to abstain from a (UN)vote on a draft she helped write with regards to an immediate ceasefire in Gaza? What’s your take on the USS Liberty incident in 1967? Oh wait….it was an accident right? Accidents happen. At least 34 were said to have perished in the incident. I’ll bet you don’t have the chandeliers to comment on this one.

What is this? A numbers game now? I figure, if someone does something wrong, then it’s wrong, then he/she should be punished according to law. How about a couple million killed in Vietnam? How about thousands upon thousands killed in South and Central America? How about over a million Iraqis? How about thousands and thousands of Palestinians killed? Oh wait a second… you can’t comment on this adequately…other than to yell, “terrorist”.
I’ll make it easy on you. How about commenting on the USS Liberty, and Dubya’s orders to Condi? No chandeliers?
