So much smarter than those dumb Republicans:
Gupta: Let’s talk about something you talked a lot about in the early part of your presidency, stem cells. There was an order today providing federal money for embryonic stem cell research. First of all, let me just ask you, as someone who studied this, is this going to always be as divisive an issue as it is now? Is this going to be the abortion of the next generation? Or are people going to come around?
Clinton: I think – the answer is I think that we’ll work it through. If – particularly if it’s done right. If it’s obvious that we’re not taking embryos that can – that under any conceivable scenario would be used for a process that would allow them to be fertilized and become little babies, and I think if it’s obvious that we’re not talking about some science fiction cloning of human beings, then I think the American people will support this….
Gupta: Any reservations?
Clinton: I don’t know that I have any reservations, but I was – he has apparently decided to leave to the relevant professional committees the definition of which frozen embryos are basically going to be discarded, because they’re not going to be fertilized. I believe the American people believe it’s a pro-life decision to use an embryo that’s frozen and never going to be fertilized for embryonic stem cell research….(emphasis added)
Imagine what a field day the left would have if George Bush or any other GOPer had made statements this ignorant – Bill Clinton clearly hasn’t the foggiest notion of what an embryo is; a 7th grade bit of science which he seems to have missed out on. And yet he’s the smart guy.

Hilarious!!!
But, then again, Slicky Blue Dress is a Donkaroach, and Donks can say any outrageous thing without being called out for it. Especially Slick, who was their first messiah…
I’m pretty sure that Mr. Clinton knows the certain potential that an embryo has, Mark … and that is what they want to prevent (destroy), purposely.
They like the control that they can grasp through this type of thing, by deceiving people with the lie that those who participate in the embryo program are participating for a “worthy” cause, when the intent behind it is none other than to manipulate and destroy tiny persons.
This same type of thing went on in Germany during Hitler’s time of power.
So these people who destroy these tiny babies, and those who defend the people who destroy them are fully conscious of what they are doing, and Satan is driving their conscience.
You know, it seems awfully disturbing that those who create the laws are so cowardly and not have the guts to be able to define baby persons with the dignity that they deserve from the very moment that conception takes place. And they try to invent some “right” to kill … I mean it just blows the mind that millions of Americans of all people for crying out loud, would stand and allow for the brutal murder of such innocent little ones.
I swear it sparks a flame in me that my eyes turn to balls of flame. I mean it does, it enrages me!
Some days I have to take my frustration out on something … so I go to the woodpile and start splitting.
jeremiah,
I’m not so sure – while there are some on the pro-abortion side who seem to glory in wickedness, people like Bill Clinton are more likely to be people who just haven’t thought the matter through. Clinton’s answers above show a man who just doesn’t know what he’s talking about – its clear he thinks he knows, but anyone who had actually thought about it would never make such an absurd statement.
It should be kept in mind that people like Bill Clinton have never been exposed in a serious way to pro-life thought. They’re told that its all about “choice”, and who could be opposed to someone making their own choices? Add a layer is dislike for Christian conservatives and, voila!, you’ve got probably 80% of the pro-choice side of the argument. A bit of thought, and the whole worldview comes crashing down – unless one is downright bent on evil. The hard part, for us, is not to get to the pro-abortion fanatics so much as to just get pro-choice people to think about it…though as in all cases where you’re trying to get someone to consider the difficult, the preference is just to pretend its not there. Pornography is protected this way, too.
The other difficulty here is that liberals – like Bill Clinton – have been convinced that they are smart, knowledgeable and wise. This starts at a young age, continues through college and just gets worse as time goes on. Every liberal fancies himself a unique genius who is called upon to graciously allow us to benefit from his superior intellect. You and I have it rather easy – we talk to Jesus on a regular basis and thus keep our selves in perspective. Liberals tend to talk to themselves and thus very often start worshiping themselves. The healthy worldview of a believer is mostly denied to liberals – even those liberals who are members of our faith, because they too often fall into the trap of condescending to worship God as part of their own, overall swellness and genius. We know we aren’t worthy to even be in the shadow of the crown of thorns – liberals think such a crown un-necessary as they have risen above the need to demonstrate their devotion.
I think it’s pretty clear that he verbally confused “fertilization” and “implantation”. If anyone knows the ins and outs of the human reproductive system, it’s Bill Clinton.
By the way, it’s important to remember that the most important Clinton nowadays is Hillary. If you’re going to refer to whatshisname, you might want to make that a little clearer.
SA: I think it’s pretty clear that he verbally confused “fertilization” and “implantation”.
Probably so. It’s still funny, though. And I think Mark is probably right as well — had George Bush or any other GOPer goofed up in the same way, the libbies would have had a good giggle.
The other difficulty here is that liberals – like Bill Clinton – have been convinced that they are smart, knowledgeable and wise.
The other difficulty here is that some conservatives – like Mark Noonan – are convinced that they are more chaste, more devout, and thus conclude without doubt that their interpretation of the Word of God is superior. There is another, more important difficulty: they then often mistake that certainty as a viable replacement for being smart, knowledgeable, and wise. Well it’s not a replacement. Moral character is an adjunct to intellectual acumen, and vice versa. One cannot replace the other. And doubt plays a very important part in both. I’m pretty sure, lol!
you boys infer meaning to billys statements without justification…its obvious that billys got his mind on the next sexual harrassment suit and not reality…he astutely articulated more than once that embryo’s would not be fertilized…3 times actually…
this guy was smart enough to be president…smart enough to get away with sexually harrassing women through his entire career (that that last slip you could say)….and you…diminish his intelligence…by claiming he was confused…but thats not so obvious in his transcript…nothing indicates any confusion when he repeats the same thing…3 times…
billy isnt a child…he is a full grown, responsible adult…that really is stupid…just like these idiots who defend him…this whole thing pulls the pants down on the alliance in power…it demonstrated the contrivance to diminish the dignity of life…he goes on to say “most of the doctors doing this research” which is also a lie….the majority of research on stem cell work have jumped in with both feet on adult stem cell use that works….
putting the ignorant, lying ex president husband of the ignorant, lying sect’ of state only can sucker in those who actually dont pay attention…at all
actually, in the interview…he repeats the same thing about embyo’s six times, not 3
I wonder why Gupta didn’t call him on it.
Why should anyone question Clinton’s intelligence?
Embryos are not fertilized and BJs aren’t sex.
Why the confusion?
tired
Embryos are not fertilized and BJs aren’t sex.
Why the confusion?
ROTFLMAO !!!!!!!
BJs aren’t sex.
Actually, Newt Gingrich pioneered that argument. I guess that was the last new idea he had.
If anyone knows the ins and outs of the human reproductive system, it’s Bill Clinton.
Ha! *rimshot*
I wonder why Gupta didn’t call him on it.
Ditto. Gupta should’ve done so the first time he said it.
a 7th grade bit of science which he seems to have missed out on
Sort of like you and evolution, right Mark?
actually oralndo, it was Anne Manning and not Gingrich. But why let facts get in the way of your liberal fantasies.
Speaking of intelligence, why haven’t you answered those two simple questions I asked over a week ago?
If you have embraced education as you have claimed why the hesitation, the stalling and the dodging?
You are in fact the poster child for liberal stupidity.
why haven’t you answered those two simple questions I asked over a week ago?
I already told you why (hint: it has to do with posts like the above, so thanks for that). Was there a reading comprehension problem on your part?
they too often fall into the trap of condescending to worship God as part of their own, overall swellness and genius.
Mark,
That is, the put is lightly – the crux of the matter.
And you’ve got a really, really good point there. As liberals like the Clinton’s, who couldn’t be a more deceitful, and dishonest lot, they’re conscious and know for certain that God is there, and are thankful to some degree as you say for their gift of intelligence, they blot God out of the picture and follow their own desire, which Satan puts there to glorify themselves and rely on God only when they need Him, as crutch per se, when they are in trouble.
So, in reality, God means nothing to them…they, in reality see no need for God … in their foolish thinking, the thinking that Satan puts there, and controls them with is “sufficient” to see them through.
So, that’s what I was trying to convey when I say they understand and know what they are doing, when, for example … Mr. Clinton said “we’re not taking embryos that can – that under any conceivable scenario would be used for a process that would allow them to be fertilized and become little babies” … It’s not the use, but the potential of these little babies that he sees and understands … He cares less at what happens to these little babies as long as they aren’t allowed to become baby persons (which is about as far as it goes with him, and most liberals, for that matter), and as long as women can be kept in slavery to the evil practice of murdering their unborn children…enslaved to a life of dangerous promiscuity.
no oralndo, there certainly was a lack of comprehension on your part.
Gingrich never said what you claimed, only Anne Manning did. Again, why let facts get in the way of your government school education.
But, once again, thanks for proving the lack of intelligence of liberals. Your reasons for not answering are bogus. The “post from above” proves your stupidity and the lack of answers to two simple questions only reenforces it by the evading that you continue to do.
If you want to keep looking stupid fine with me, but the whole group who comes here keeps laughing at you.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Again with the hatred of education. Why? Is it merely envy of those who have one, or is it something deeper?
The evil people who have controlled education, Orlando, Democrats. Democrats, in a concerted effort, have destroyed many generations of people for the past 40+ years.
Destroyed the minds of capable individuals, of which many are geniuses today that have become lawyers, teachers, Senators, governors etc, etc, etc only to further the destruction.
Genius gone horribly wrong!
You are by no means a genius, but one who is caught up in the same tripe that professors such as Ward Churchill rabble on about. And the many, many atheist professors who have destroyed millions of young people.
Look: Democrats are, and traditionally have been, the party that respects science. Republicans typically have played to their constituents, most of whom are either too rich to care, too poor to care, or lacking the curiosity to care. (That’s why you get Bobby Jindal complaining about money for volcano research…if there’s one thing Katrina taught us, it’s you don’t have to care about natural disasters, right?) Please, before you start ranting about stuff like this, learn science from somewhere other than the Bible. Please. The Bible’s just a book, has very little to back it up, and has no scientific basis whatsoever. Simply because we wish to further our knowledge, which involves tinkering with “what God gave us” you run out and scream at us. Yes, science should have limits (Nazi experiments, eg) but at least show me you understand what you’re talking about before you rant about all these limits we need to impose.
Embryos are fertilized, yes, but any biologist will tell you that they are not alive without being implanted, and are certainly not sentient. Further, many of these embryos are headed in the trash anyway, so it’s not like any potential is being destroyed. Why do you fear and loath science so much?
fr00tn00b,
There is no limit to the degree of knowledge that science can have.
However, in the pursuit of knowledge, morality must be top priority.
When you reject the moral limits placed on your actions, you gain no ground, and just create more problems in the process.
And that has been the problem for far too long, we have concentrated too much on the exploration, and not enough on God’s commands.
Even still, science has limits to the knowledge that can be received, because it will never fix all the problems that we have in the world, which is guaranteed. Why? Sin! Sin has guaranteed the further downfall of man. So what ails us physically is not what’s important. What’s important is where one’s spirit lies, and where he wishes it to reside upon departure from this life to the next.
So while it’s a worthwhile goal to work on searching for cures to our physical trouble, let us put first God and His righteousness, and He will give the answer
Embryos are human life, and their potential to live a meaningful, productive life is guaranteed provided we show them that respect. It would be a sin to do otherwise!
I don’t think that we have a life after this…I see no evidence of it. Not that I don’t want a life after this: I do, with all of my being, as I am human. (This is how the church is so firmly embedded in culture). So I’ll go on trying to improve my life here.
Also, if this life doesn’t matter, why shouldn’t we “kill babies”? It’s their life after death that matters right?
(Also, again, embryos are not alive).
I don’t think that we have a life after this…I see no evidence of it.
fr00tn00b,
You see no evidence because inwardly, you are dead, because you are not guided by the spirit.
Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.
As it is, you see things as they are on the outside, which are corrupted.
Not that I don’t want a life after this: I do, with all of my being, as I am human.
Hahaha! The life that you speak of is not in the food you eat, or the things you drink, or the things that you rely on each day to sustain you. Your life comes from none of those things. While they are evidence of the work of God’s hands, and are held together by the power of His Being we must learn to use them wisely and to point to Him.
Also, if this life doesn’t matter, why shouldn’t we “kill babies”? It’s their life after death that matters right?
You misunderstand … they’re life is not for us to decide … we are not the judge on when life begins or ends, which is where many people get confused when it comes to justice.
Since God decides when we come to life, and when we die, then if someone goes against that rule then we are to seek justice as God ordered it … Genesis 9:6 – ‘Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God, has God made man.’ God’s endowment of humans with this judicial authority shows they stand in God’s stead as rulers and lays the foundation for government by the state (Romans 13:1-7).
Image. Though distorted by sin, the image of God continues in man (Genesis 1:26 8:21). This explains why homicidal blood, in contrast to animal blood, must be compensated for.
You see, we are different from the animals in that we were given a spirit…just as you discern that you are human…whereas, if you were a cat, or dog, or bird, you would not be able to do such things.
Though through sin, your heart is wicked, understand this … Jesus Christ bore your burdens … the crown of thorns that was placed on his head were your thorns, the pain and anguish was your pain, the weight of the Cross was your cross, the blood in the blood stained garment that He wore, was your blood, the spear that was pierced into His side was your spear, and your wound, the mocking was your mocking, the lashes on His back were your lashes … all of that, He took upon Himself for you that you might escape the same of which there will be an eternity of.
“Again with the hatred of education. Why? Is it merely envy of those who have one, or is it something deeper?”
oralndo, where do you get I hate education? Education is very important. Why would I hate something that is very necessary? Really oralndo, your not making sense, unless you need the cover and change the subject.
I am not the one avoiding two simple questions that could be answered in seconds! Clearly you are scared of your education, while I am confident in mine! My education is the envy of others!
Again with the deflections. The ball is in your court! If you are confident in your education then the answers to the two simple questions should have been posted last week when you were first asked, unless you are ashamed.
Since you cannot answer, just admit it.
fr00tn00b,
The day my mother died, at twelve hours after she passed away, the clock in her kitchen came off the wall and landed, about 6 feet away, at my feet. My mother didn’t like that clock. A half dozen people witnessed this.
On the day my mother-in-law died, my father-in-law and wife had placed a new, unopened pack of cigarettes in her purse (we were puzzling over what she was waiting for as we had thought her last day was about three days previous). Later that day as we watched and waited, my wife opened the purse to see if her perfume was inside and noted that the pack was opened in the manner my mother-in-law normally used and six cigarettes were missing, the usual number she took out from a new pack in order to insert her lighter into it. The perfume then brought to mind the fact that she never went anywhere without first putting it on – a few spritzes, and within half an hour she passed away.
Odd happenstance? Perhaps.
But why let facts get in the way of your liberal fantasies.
Because it’s orlando, and orlando is fantasy-based.
Again with the hatred of education. Why? Is it merely envy of those who have one, or is it something deeper?
I doubt anyone here is in envy of your “education,” orlando, except maybe lib4ever and orrin. You must’ve gone to college under a sports scholarship. Basketball?
My education is the envy of others!
Now that’s a good punchline! And here I thought you couldn’t be funny on purpose.
Ah. Well then, jeremiah, let God be the judge, and let you not judge lest ye be judged. Also, despite your post, I STILL see no evidence of a life after death…say what you will about my being spiritually dead. I do not see evidence of God either, but I believe in him. You claim that everything is the result of God’s work, but I see no evidence that it simply isn’t random particles colliding with each other according to a set of rules. I, in other words, do not see the hand of God.
I do not think that I’ll be condemned for this, and if I am, that’s between me and God. watev.
I see things on the outside, which are corrupted…ok. I guess that’s what makes me a pessimist. I do not claim to have any vision beyond what my eyes and ears tell me: I have no “spiritual sense”. Is this my fault? Ah, well, everything’s nothing anyway…
Mark: OK, see what you will in those occurrences. If there is a God, he’d better be working on more important things than making clocks fall down and stuff. If he does cause those things to happen, why those things, I wonder?
Interesting food for thought….
Still dodging oralndo?
Why am I not surprised?
1luv2h8lib5, I am sure that oralndo, if he made it out of his government high school to college, majored in Advanced Basket Weaving.
His hostilities toward the educated are very telling.
The “educated”. You mean us liberal elitists at educated places like Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Cornell, Columbia, UChicago, etc. etc.?
Yeah, when it’s liberals who’re smart, they’re “elitist”. Conservatives are “educated”.
