Right after Medicare and Medicaid were enacted in the 60’s. We have high health care costs because the government has distorted the market for health care – its the same reason we have high education costs. Get government out and allow the market to decide and I guarantee you it won’t cost $1,000 a night just to lie in a hospital bed.
