Are Democrats getting ready to eat one of their own?
The House majority leader reluctantly agreed Tuesday that congressional hearings should investigate Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that she wasn’t informed, more than six years ago, that harsh interrogation methods were used on an al-Qaida leader.
Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called Republican challenges to Pelosi’s assertion a diversion from the real question of whether the Bush administration tortured terrorist suspects. Nonetheless, he acknowledged the controversy should be resolved.
Hoyer, of course, wants Pelosi’s job and the best way to get it is to force Pelosi to resign…and so calling for an investigation which everyone knows will show Pelosi is a liar is a good way to secure that. Also, Democrats are worried that in 2010 all the GOP will have to do to win swing districts is hang a picture of Pelosi next to the Democrat. Remember, the most important thing to a liberal Democrat is to hold on to office…anything which risks having a Democrat lose his place at the trough is living on borrowed time.

As I said right here the other day. We no longer need more Democrats we need better Democrats. Democrats willing to work towards Democratic ends, honorably and transparently. Amusing that you criticize the Democrats for not being critical of one of our own who is not behaving or performing well, and now you’re apparently critical of us now “preparing to eat one of our own”.
But unlike your party, Mark, we believe in principals over individuals, not following the individual even if they abandon American principals. If Pelosi or Lieberman or anyone else wants to abandon their principals, they can and should step down. It’s as simple as that.
With Hoekstra holding the door open for investigation of the torture question, I say bring it on. This ought to be hilarious when we find out the full story. Looks like Cheney is hedging his bets. So much for the certainty expressed by the Republicans regarding Pelosi and the torture issue. Let the Republicans drink the vinegar they opened themselves.

Use whatever name you wish. If you are willing to go through the door opened by Hoekstra I bid you adieu. I for one will be outside laughing my ass off. Watching C-SPAN will be better than any contrived comedy show.

I have always wondered if Timothy McVeigh were still alive, in custody, and had one more fertilizer bomb planted at a federal building. Would the left use enhanced interrogation techniques to get that information?

To do that cluster means that terrorists can defeat the United States if they kill enough civilians at one time or utilize certain mass killing techniques. The best way to beat terrorism is to be able to take the hit and go back to your normal routine as if nothing has changed.
