This is good advice for Nancy Pelosi, who has changed her story regarding what she knew and was told about “enhanced interrogation” techniques several times.
Her most recent outrageous claim was that she was misled by the CIA – a claim that CIA director and Obama appointee Leon Panetta outright refuted.
Well, she has changed her story again, and is now blaming Bush.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded Friday to CIA Director Leon Panetta’s public disagreement with her charge that she was misled by the agency on the use of waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques.
“We all share great respect for the dedicated men and women of the intelligence community who are deeply committed to the safety and security of the American people,” she said in a statement issued by her office. “My criticism of the manner in which the Bush Administration did not appropriately inform Congress is separate from my respect for those in the intelligence community who work to keep our country safe.
Pathetic. How can someone keep changing their story and expect to be taken seriously?

In reality, these two peace treaties are are questionable.

joe, There has been some things said about his views about Israel in the past and also who he has brought onto his cabinet who are not pro-Israel.
We have been talking to the Palestinians for decades why do think it will work now? So what if we have not been talking to them for eight years. Talking has so far been a waste of breath. Will Obama work some miracle that any other previous president could not? I do not think so. I do not think they will accept anything other than the removal of Israel from what they see as their’s. Israel will not leave because secular and religious Isralis see it as their land for secular or religious reasons. History shows this to be true. I do not understand what would get through to them, do you? I don’t think our western minds understand what to do, otherwise we would have succeded before now.

What is the alternative? What does turning your back and doing nothing accomplish? I guess the third option after talking and ignoring would be bombing the crap out of them. And we all know how well that works.
Same thing with Iran. You turn your back and say we won’t talk to them, so what. Then they go on doing their thing.
At least if you have talks, perhaps something comes out of it. I’d rather see that breath wasted than lives of soldiers and civilians wasted.

joe, “What is the alternative?” I have no good answer. I wish I did, I am sure I’d get a Noble peace prize. War is the LAST resort, and a war would be a disaster that would probably engulf the middle-east. But does it also make sense to keep on doing something that you know does not work? It seems to be like continually hitting your head against the wall because otherwise you’d feel the pain. This is a dilemma that I know of no answer. Neither war or diplomacy brings a real solution, but only one of them seems the only thing one can do because otherwise, what? What do you do when the Palestinians will not bend or can not be persuaded to live in peace with Israel? Yes I do see it as the Palestinians being the obstacle here to peace. OK, I know Israel is not totally innocent, but they are acting in their best interest, for better or worse.
