From Rasmussen:
Sixty-two percent (62%) of Americans say it’s always better to cut taxes than increase government spending because taxpayers, not bureaucrats, are the best judges of how to spend their own money.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 20% of adults disagree, and 18% are not sure.
The new findings mark a nine-point increase in support for taxpayers as the best judges of spending since January.
The bloom is off the Obama rose – too much, too fast and too different from what Obama campaigned on. Here’s a hint for the future, Democrats: don’t do too much, don’t do it too fast…and, if it doesn’t cause massive internal bleeding, how about telling us the truth about who you are before the votes are cast?

Now if we could just get the House and Senate to listen to what we want! I do not expect that to happen, but it is a nice thought.
People don’t like taxes.
(Moderator’s note: remainder of mindless, sarcastic, post deleted.)
Yeah, the Idiot in Chief’s economic policies are tanking so badly that he’s flip-flopped and told Holder to go ahead and go after the CIA now.
Maybe this, and the Teddy show, will give Earbama a bump in the polls…
Soon, we’ll hear more about the IIC’s balooning budget defecit, and how it’s all President Bush’s fault…
winnow, Obamateur did not give us a tax cut. Only withholding from your paycheck was reduced. Come tax time next year, you will realized that the tax tables remained the same. The amount you owe based on your income stayed the same and since less was withheld on pay day your refund or the amount you will pay will be lower or increased, repectively.
Obamateur did not cave – he was not a tool. The lemmings who believed he was going to give them a “tax cut” are.
It is really a shame that your posts are filled with so much negative raw emotion and not clear logic.
who can name 1 thing that oblunder actually did that lowered anybodys taxes?
I can, js–when he gained in popularity, and it looked like he was gonna defeat Clinton for the nomination, I agreed to come to England with my wife for her job. While she still has to pay taxes on her income, I don’t. I work for a contractor, and will net more money this year than I grossed in ‘08. Unfortunately, I’ll eventually have to return to the U.S., and forget about taxes–I’ll be lucky to find a job!
Guess I’d better hone my burger-flipping skills…

Or you can try for your old job in the toll booth on the Maryland Turnpike.
I’m sorry, keefer — you know I’m kidding, but it was just too precious a set-up to waste.
Don’t forget that he is going to let Bush’s tax cuts expire in 2010.
He has raised the taxes on cigarettes – I guess only the rich smoke.
Cap & Trade is looming.
So is healthcare…..
Corporate taxes are certainly going to be passed on to the consumer.
To say that the Obamateur is going to cut taxes on 95% of the population is pure fiction. If you do believe that, I have some real estate just outside of New Orleans for sale.
I have some real estate just outside of New Orleans for sale.
Tired, would that be that parcel about 50 miles to the south of NO? Kinda fitting for anyone who believes that 95% are getting a tax cut anytime soon.
when they resinded bush’s reversal of the oil exploration policy…and shut the door on developing our own energy reserves…it pretty well screwed us too…because they make even more money importing oil from foreign nations that are our enemies…
everything oblunder has done since he took office fraudulently has driven up our cost of living one way or another…and the long reaching consequences are not even in sight yet…
Or you can try for your old job in the toll booth on the Maryland Turnpike.
lol, Spook, brings back memories.
Who used to say I did that for a living? Was it steve-o-moron, from Pignuts, Virginia?
To tell the truth, a job at the toll booth seems inviting right now…
“who can name 1 thing that oblunder actually did that lowered anybodys taxes?”
Even if Obama DID cut taxes on some of the lower tax rates by a point or two—and after the Bush tax RATE cuts the lower 50% of earners pay only about 1% of all the taxes anyway— that meager cut would not compensate for the higher invisible taxes imposed on us all through higher taxes on the things we need to purchase in our daily lives. Taxes which are, of course, passed on to the consumer, as taxes are a cost of doing business and therefore added to the end purchase price, as are higher transportation costs, material costs, employment costs, and so on. Businesses don’t just absorb those rising costs to them and accept lower profits, they add them on the end cost to us. Duh.
A tax on business is a tax on everyone.
So every single thing this adminstration does which adds to the cost of any business is actually an increase in what we will pay for the end product of that business.
If a new tax were to imposed, for example, on diesel fuel, most Americans would feel this did not impact them at all, as most Americans do not drive diesel vehicles. But nearly every farm tractor in America runs on diesel, so the cost of food production would go up. Every long-haul truck on the road runs on diesel, so the cost of getting the food to market would go up. And BTW, the gasoline these meekly accepting Americans use is delivered by trucks burning diesel, so yes, the cost of gasoline would be affected, too.
But when the cost of every item they buy rises by a few cents, most would not realize they had just had their taxes raised, too. No, they would point to a statement by Obama that he had actually CUT their taxes so they get an extra couple of dollars in their paychecks every month, and be blissfully unaware that that little meaningless cut was more than offset by the many extra dollars they had to pay for food and fuel, clothing and appliance, due to the stealth tax imposed far enough away from them for them to be unaware of its impact on them.
It is these unthinking lemmings who put Obama in office and who still buy into his snake-oil salesman exhortations of how much he is trying to do “for” them.
the only change we find is that instead of liberty we have communism….
Who used to say I did that for a living? Was it steve-o-moron, from Pignuts, Virginia?
keefer, I’ve made a conscious effort not to remember the screen names of the dozens of Lefties who have left their droppings here over the years. The toll booth meme did stick in my mind, though, for some perverse reason.
