The story – from The Washington Examiner:
Reuters reports an interesting nugget in the wake of President Barack Obama’s decision to grant Vladimir Putin his wish and kill the Eastern European missile shield:
Shortly after the pullback on the shield programme was announced, Russia’s government said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would meet several U.S. executives on Friday from firms including General Electric, Morgan Stanley as well as TPG, one of the world’s largest private equity firms
General Electric may be the company with the closest ties to the Obama administration (if not, GE is second only to Goldman Sachs), and here we see the company benefiting from an abrupt foreign policy change made by President Obama. But GE isn’t the only company benefiting. Reuters paints the broader picture:
“U.S. companies have arguably lost out to some European companies in joint ventures, and better diplomacy will likely improve the chances for investors in the strategic sectors of the Russian economy,” said Carlo Gallo, senior Russia analyst at London-based consultancy Control Risks.
GE CEO Jeff Immelt sits on Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board, and GE owns MSNBC, the network famously friendly to Obama.
Obama got some ’splainin’ to do…

As of Sept 12, 2009. . . Obama has kept us SAFE for longer than GW Bush did during his Presidency!
That is about the lowest dirtiest most despicable tripe I have yet to read on this site.
You are a complete douche bag.
there you go, talking direct out of your beehind cult…
bethesda is run by the military, as is walter reed…which essentially make your drivel that much more evidence of your ignorance….
nobody ever said the military was run the way you imply…the military is very effective, and the government IS NOT run like the military…so your laughable allegations are not more that shots from your beehind that are worthless in reality

slow down coulterfan. it’s one thing to say Bush et al got generalized intel of al Qeada plans to attack the US.
but it’s quite another to say that intel was specific, credible, & actionable.
no US president, not Bush & not FDR, would fail to act if that were the case.
that’s not reasonable & I will not believe it unless there’s direct physical evidence to prove it.

your side directally paved the road for 911

ok I understand Richard Clark was in front of the al Qeada problem unlike the neocons who seemed focused on the state sponsers.
same for the phoenix FBI agent who warned of muslim dudes (my words ;) enrolled in flying but not landing lessons.
however the pre-9/11 paradigm was hijacking or lockerbie explosions not suicide flights into buildings.

watch it,

Back on topic…
New US anti-missile system in Israel, Azerbaijan to replace scrapped shield in E. Europe
“DEBKAfile reports that Barack Obama’s decision prompted Russian president Dmitry Medvedev’s surprise comment Monday, Sept. 14, that his government no longer rules out further sanctions against Iran – although the Kremlin has always denied its cooperation with the US on the Iranian nuclear issue was contingent on the removal of the US missile shield plan.
DEBKA-Net-Weekly in its coming issue (out Friday) will reveal how the shared US-Russian wish to avert an Israeli military strike against Iran produced Obama’s decision to ditch the missile shield in East Europe.

really neo…cult cant figure out the difference between the military and the beaurocracy in DC…a typical stooge in the mental midget club…so it REALLY DOESNT MATTER WHAT THE FREAK THINKS…you can take that to the bank…
check the election donations…how much did GE give oblunder compared to Poland and the Czecks?
Pretty obvious….
Fact of fiction: Those who trade together are less inclined to go to war against each other. Seriously, true or not? Here’s a corollary: should lobbyists representing multinational corporations be allowed to influence our electoral process or not? Assuming the answer is no, here’s a corollary to the corollary: How do you stop them? But assuming the answer is no, then, well… WTF?
RE: How do you stop them?
Well, that’s pretty simple, but you gotta have a lot o’ people with a lot o’ courage.
Oh goodness… The last sentence was meant to read… “But assuming the answer was yes, then, well, WTF?
Allow me to add… isn’t/wasn’t the latter what K-Street is/was all about?
jeremiah: Well, that’s pretty simple, but you gotta have a lot o’ people with a lot o’ courage.
Courage to do what? I would say that’s the hard part — especially given the present scenario.
RE: I would say that’s the hard part
Courage, that is the hard part, yes. It wouldn’t be hard to do, just getting the courage to do it.
jeremiah, realizing I’m being repetitive (and I assure everyone this will be the last time), allow me to ask again… courage to do what?
RE: courage to do what?
Well, these lobbyists that you speak of, some or many of them have no face, they just lend support through hidden networks whose philosophy is socialistic or communistic and then the money is distributed to the corporation/organization, whatever. As far as I’m concerned, those people don’t belong on the face of the planet, because when all is boiled down, what you have left is the two main worldviews – the atheist communism pitted against the capitalism/free market enterprise Christians.
In the communistic setting, those lobbyists you speak of want the forced economic equality yet takes advantage of and devours a larger percentage of the shares … just like GE there, they’re big enough to pay their own lobbyists, but after the cold cash, fresh off the press has been consumed, the corporation has grown, while the work force is declining and further weakened. So what is basically does is destroys wealth, and intended so.
So, it takes team work to expose that kind of injustice, by bringing to justice those who have supported the regime/regimes who are supporting the anti-America organizations.
People could take a lesson from the two who have been working to expose ACORN (same thing, only a community social engineering activist type thing), by going after these bureaucracies that we never see nor hear tell of. Break up their networks and government ties and you’ve got a start. George Soros is a good example of someone who we need to cut off from the under-the-table dealing. You see, people are making a huge mistake by letting people full of the devil do their bidding because it’s class warfare that our Constitution originally prohibited before the sixteenth amendment.
Just my personal opinion. We may be to the point now, where the dictatorship is inevitable. We’ll just have to wait and see, I guess.
My original point being, though, that we could do with less of the complacency in this country … but public education and welfare has done taken us to the extreme that it’s not looking to bright of a future. With only anarchy to be expected.
8 years of klinton. bil laden handed on a platter no less than four times.

Yes, neocon, but you must remember, Clinton was “obsessed” with bin Laden. His words, not mine. Kinda like the obsession libbies have with all their do-gooder causes–they care, but that’s as far as it goes.
With GE in his pocket, the Idiot in Chief will have the news media in his pocket.. Not that they’re not already there, but this could make for some pretty skewed reporting of Middle Eastern issues…
Nothing is crazier than a demented, delusional, BDSer. “BUT HIS GRAAAAAANDFATHER DID BUUUUUUUSINESSSSS WITH HIIIIIITLER !!!!!!” they bleat.
Just as Clinton never went into high alert and shut down the airports and arrested Middle Eastern men every time HIS White House briefing included some vague reference to some vague report about some attack being considered, somewhere, somehow, Bush didn’t either. That kind of hysteria would pretty much have made the actual attack unnecessary—all the Bad Guys would have to do to shut down the country would be to plant fake attack plans where they could be found, and the country would be immobilized.
But this new completely goofy and insane claim about Obama is the strangest of all. Note who fell for it—Usual Suspect coulterfan, who, if his brains were dynamite, couldn’t blow his nose. I have decided, a long time ago, that coulterfan and a few other mouthbreathing cretins in the same mold, can be my bellwethers for lunacy—if they believe it, it is not only not true, it is clinically insane.
What I can’t figure out is how or why anyone could come up with the odd scenario of a Chicago politician selling influence. ??????????
Interesting that b.hussein lobbied so hard to end the F-22 program which uses PW engines,
while pushing the still in design F-35 which utilizes GE engines and estimates 5-6000 to be built……HMMMMMM
…while pushing the still in design F-35 which utilizes GE engines and estimates 5-6000 to be built……HMMMMMM
Gotta get those campaign contributions somewhere. All this idiot is doing is running for reelection–three years early…
coulter, you rehashing that tired old debunked argument again?
Clarke and Clinton warned Bush you say? Bush did not take them seriously? Clarke and Clinton were focused on Bin Laden?
From Clinton and Clarke’s report titled:
“A NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY FOR A GLOBAL AGE
THE WHITE HOUSE DECEMBER 2000″
The opening paragraph (emphasis mine):
“As we enter the new millennium, we are blessed to be citizens of a country enjoying record prosperity, with no deep divisions at home, NO OVERRIDING EXTERNAL THREATS ABROAD (THIS AFTER THE BOMBINGS OF OUR EMBASSIES, USS COLE and KHOBAR TOWERS, oh and uhm BIN LADEN), and history’s most powerful military ready to defend our interests around the world. Americans of earlier eras may have hoped one day to live in a nation that could claim just one of these blessings. Probably few expected to experience them all; fewer still all at once.”
WOW! Their own report NEVER MENTIONS BIN LADEN (the spin is he was the focus of the past administration) in the opening paragraph. And a search of the entire document, mentions bin Laden TWICE and NEVER MENTIONS Al Qaeda. Bin Laden is mentioned only in describing the region in which he occupies.
So coulter, that tired debunked old talking point has been shown to you and your ilk again to be worthless. When are you going to join the present and realize the pre-9/11 attitude of the occupier of the White House is dangerous?
When will you cease to be the mindless, useful idiot, lemming this administration desires for all of us to be?
So, I’m gone for a day and on the left only Bagni actually addresses the issue at hand…
Bagni,
Too true, I’m afraid – but isn’t Obama supposed to be different? Could it be that the TEA Party people are on to something in their demand for real change?
Inquiring minds want to know…
