NEA, Obama, Corruption

Interesting run-down of the scandal of NEA Spendulus grantees being conscripted to push Obamacare and other Obama programs. Read the whole thing – here’s the kicker:

But, there is even a larger issue that hasn’t yet received much attention in the press. Among the Obama Administration officials on the call were Buffy Wicks, Office of Public Engagement and the lead White House official on the President’s Serve.Gov initiative to promote national service. Also on the call was Nell Abernathy, Director of Outreach for Serve.Gov. One of their main goals on the call, it seems, was to encourage artists to produce works that would reinforce the President’s call for service; specifically through the Serve.Gov web-portal.

As Dana Loesch recently reported at Big Government, the Serve.Gov portal funnels citizens to volunteer or service projects connected with ACORN and other leftist groups. The taxpayer-funded website is evolving into a cyber-recruitment tool for the progressive movement.

So what did happen on that call? Was the NEA coordinating with the White House to push their agenda on a group of artists eager for and reliant upon the NEA for grants, or is the NEA telling the truth that this call “was not a means to promote any legislative agenda”?

Tomorrow at noon ET, explosive new information will answer that question and raise many others.

This if from Andrew Breitbart – he who brought us the ACORN scandals. When he says “explosive”, I’m expecting something rather large.

I agree with the commentators on Mr. Breitbart’s site, we need to defund both NEA organizations (Arts & Education) and all the other programs that amount to nothing more than a misappropriation of funds and tax dollars, it is criminal what our government is doing. They are thieves!

The Liar in Chief will say he had no knowledge of this, just like he claimed he wasn’t aware of all that federal money going to ACORN…

  4. The same day the troubling money trail was revealed, Yosi Sergant was “reassigned.”

    Well then.

the Serve.Gov portal funnels citizens to volunteer or service projects connected with ACORN and other leftist groups.

Yeah, if you type in “ACORN”. By that logic, Google is doing the same thing.

    How To Take Back America
The National Education Association (NEA), which usually passes a dozen or more pro-homosexual resolutions every year at its annual national convention, this year in San Diego went all-out in support of same-sex marriage. This emphasis on advocacy for homosexuals was spelled out in a five-point New Business Item E.

Nations that expend tax dollars on the arts produce two types of artists: Grant-writing Artists and Opium-smoking Artists. Neither type produce anything of worth.

The United States is already amongst the most art-hostile of the industrialized nations (in terms of percentages spent on public art projects), yet it is awash in creativity. It seems that artists will push their particular visions into the public eye whether we fill their pocketbooks or not.

I enjoy going to the Opera, but does the Opera really deserve tax funds more than the little rock band that I saw in some dive last week? Are the paintings in the city museum quantifiably better than the paintings hanging in the little galleries in the ghetto? Does anyone actually enjoy that statue down by City Hall?

Historically, art itself has done a better job of protecting and enabling the benefits of culture than government has. And that’s probably why governments so often fall over themselves to throw money at established art forms – they need the arts more than artists need the state.

    neocon1,
You are attacking the wrong NEA.

  12. That’s actually very funny, Casper … which crooked democrat-front organization are we discussing here? The corrupt leftist NEA that uses taxpayer money to push a socialist agenda through exploiting artists, or the corrupt leftist NEA that uses taxpayer money to push a socialist agenda through exploiting teachers?

Hmmm … I’ll have some from Column A, some from Column B.

  13. Mark Noonan says:

    Sergei,

Hey, its your liberals who are making this dramatic…we’re watching your side implode.

    Rather fun, by the way.

  14. casper says:

    Count d’Haricots,
Please prove that either or both are crooked democrat-front organizations. I would like to point out that some of the best educational experiences I’ve had were funded by the Federal NEA back in the 90s. I learned a great deal about other countries cultures and histories.

How do you consider the truth an attack?
what do you “teach” monkeys in the zoo?
since when is pushing the homosexual agenda education? you pro port to be a Christian yet support this vile leftist organization speaks volumes of you.

    count…
The corrupt leftist NEA that uses taxpayer money to push a socialist agenda through exploiting artists, or the corrupt leftist NEA that uses taxpayer money to push a socialist agenda through exploiting teachers?

    BINGO
