Can’t have any of that nasty, old dissent:
The pro-abortion grassroots activist group MoveOn says it has raised millions of dollars to take on any pro-life or moderate Democrat who would vote against or hold up the health care reform bill. Pro-life groups oppose the bills because they currently contain massive government funding of abortions.
MoveOn informed its members in a Thursday email that it has raised well over $3 million to fund pro-abortion challenges to any Democrat who votes against the bills.
It says it has raised $3,578,117 to challenge “any Democratic senator who blocks an up-or-down vote on health care reform with a public option.”
I believe that all GOPers should donate to that fund…except that it might result in a pro-abortion politician getting elected, and thus would be a morally reprehensible act…
But, hey, have at it, liberals.

Count me in on the public option, out on the funding for abortions.
Funny how you would point out efforts to purge the impure. The right has been purging moderates in the GOP for some time now.
Certainly an interesting turn of events, wouldn’t you say so cam1? After mocking and chiding the GOP for purging moderates (actaully democrats), the “big tent” Democratic party is now purifying their ranks. Muy interesante. The problem with this of course is that a recent gallup poll shows that only 21% of the public veiw themselves as liberal, vs 40% of those that view themselves as conservative. The other dilemma you face is that independents are fleeing the left side of the aisle in droves, so you may end up with a very small purified liberal party led by Nancy Pelosi.
Yikes, good luck with that
cam,
All part of the ongoing battle for America – the left wants it all and is impatient with anyone who doesn’t toe the leftist line.
“All part of the ongoing battle for America – the left wants it all and is impatient with anyone who doesn’t toe the leftist line.”
And that’s different from the right how?
I doubt there will be near as much purifying of the Democratic party than there is of the Republican party over the next year. Democrats complain, but they have a tendency to keep those the right would drop in a second.
The right has been purging moderates in the GOP for some time now.
Yeah, look how hard they worked to get rid of Susan Collins last time. Specter left on his own, and there’s plenty of other senators in the GOP who are moderate. McCain, for one, is no conservative; neither is Voinovich(sp?). Oh, and then there’s Olympia Snowe.
Looks like you, cam, and you casper, are making shite up again. Oh well, that’s what libs do–they make shite up…
It looks as though the problem here, is the inmates are running the asylum.
Democrats don’t run on principles or a moral base. They have no problem with killing the innocent preborn. They will have no problem with death panels. They don’t care about sanctity of life. The problem Democrats will have is paying the premium not to mention the deductible for the public option if it passes the Senate.
so they want to throw you in jail for 5 years and fine you 1/4 of a million dollars that you dont have because you cant afford health insurance…
thats really a just notion eh?
I am NOT paying any premium for the Democrat Auschwitz Health Care Bill if it passes the Senate. As I read this bill, I will have to pay 10 thousand dollars* and a 3,700 deductible. I will sit in jail. Wonder how many new jails they will have to build.
* I am seeing different figures on the premium. Does anyone have the correct figures?
uffy,
I don’t think there are any premiums established in either bill. They will be determined when the exchange is created. If that’s not correct, someone please cite the section of either bill which sets premiums.
BTW, uffy, I thought from a discussion a while back that you were on Medicare or TriCare. Is that wrong?
kmg1: You are correct. But the VA and Medicare deny claims all the time. Whether you have a private supplemental or TriCare for Life is what is important.
uffy,
Being on Medicare, where do get the idea that your premiums are going to increase by 800%?
kmg1: Why would you need Medicare under a public option? Even multibillionaires can get Medicare if they are of age. The public option premiums have to do with your income. You don’t actually think if a public option passes they will keep Medicare do you?
In a word, yes, unless you can point to actual wording in either bill that eliminates Medicare. The public option is not intended for those on Medicare. It is for those who don’t qualify for it.
