FOX25 has learned that Congressman Barney Frank was present during a marijuana arrest at James Ready’s home in Ogunquit, Maine. Ready is well-known for his relationship with Congressman Frank.
According to a police report, police charged Ready with marijuana possession, cultivation and use of drug paraphernalia in August of 2007. Ready admitted to civil possession and paid a fine. The remaining charges were dismissed in 2008.
Sources tell FOX25 that when Frank was questioned he told police that he did not live in the house and that he only smoked cigars.
I ain’t buying that – it just explains too much of what we get out of Barney these days. And it makes me feel better – I hate to think that Barney’s absurdities go un-noticed, but having the explanation being that everyone’s stoned over there is comforting…
As Instapundit put it, had this been Sarah Palin’s third cousin, it would not have been more than 2 years before it got in to the public square and, of course, it would have been a massive political firestorm. But, as Matt and I discovered in writing Caucus of Corruption, when Democrats do bad things, its ok…because they have compassion…you know, like Hollywood’s compassion…

OK, yes, Frank, if he is involved, deserves the same fate that Bush had after getting a DWI, a much more dangerous action.
And, no, I promise, I don’t use weed. Never have.
You liberals are pathetic – bunch of chick-poop hacks afraid to actually confront the issue involved: the double standard.
Damn, I missed all the deleted comments!
Frankfurter insisted that he wouldn’t know marijuana if he saw it. What a goof.
Way to go, fr00tfly–deflect it towards President Bush, who went to Fort Hood, without cameras.
I hate libs…
And, no, I promise, I don’t use weed. Never have.
then how do you explain your incessant stupidity? Too many blows to the head?

In 1991, Barney Frank received an official reprimand for reflecting “discredit upon the House.” The reprimand came as a result of his relationship with a man named Steve Gobi, a male prostitute whom Frank initially paid $80 for sex. Frank later took Gobi to live with him in his home, making him a personal aide. He paid him $20,000 in compensation (unreported to the IRS) and let him use his car. Subsequent investigation revealed that in the course of their relationship, Frank used his congressional office and stationary to fix Gobi’s 33 parking fines. Frank also used his congressional letterhead to write a reference letter to Gobi’s probation officer — Gobi was under court supervision as a convicted felon with a prison record — in which he gave false information. Most damningly, the investigation found that Gobi ran a prostitution ring from Frank’s home. In his defense, Frank asserted he knew nothing of Gobi’s illicit enterprise.
The Democrat -controlled House voted 408-18 to reprimand Frank after a heated debate during which some Republicans demanded expulsion. They pointed out that the claim that Frank did not know of Gobi’s criminal activities was incredible to say the least.
a funny post on another site
So Barney the pole smoker is also a pot smoker.
TOOOOOOO FUNNY!
neocon,
You left out one thing – Gobi’s conviction was for sex with a minor.
Mark
how in the world do these donk cretins keep getting re-elected ?
It shows how far we have fallen in less than 60 years. This man belongs in prison or a mental ward not congress.
necon,
Because their constituents – especially in uber-liberal districts, like Fanks’s – simply don’t care about basic, human decency. To them, all that matters is:
1. Do they express the proper sympathy for the agreed-upon victims of Amerikkka?
2. Are they able to win re-election?
As long as Frank is ok with those two things, he’ll have his seat for life.
I’ll make you a deal, Mark. I will join in your crusade against Frank when you pursue Diaper Dave Vitter with the same ferver as you have directed toward Barney Frank.
Frank’s statement that he only smokes cigars is about as credible as Clinton’s “I did not inhale.” At least Obama admits to his use of illegal drugs.

Way to go, kfc–use the same deflection your bedmates do…
If potheads believe that marijuana is so benign, they should have no problem with their ER doctors, nurses, surgeons, dentists, or anesthesiologists having just smoked it in the lounge.
Frank should take heed.
