And, somehow, it is sickly appropriate that its about masturbation:
It’s one of those things you wouldn’t think anyone needs to learn, but apparently, masturbation is an art in Spain.
So much so, in fact, that the country’s Extremadura region is launching a sex-education program centered around “self-pleasure.”
The Guardian reports that the $20,000 campaign includes workshops that feature masturbation instructions. There also are leaflets on self-respect and contraception.
The region’s socialist government aims to help teenagers with “sexual self-exploration and the discovery of self-pleasure.”
Laura Garrido, a youth council president, reveals that the campaign is supposed to remove the mystique surrounding sex.
“The campaign is simple, clear, natural and easily understood by the people it is aimed at, who are aged between 14 and 17,” she says.
A Spanish correspondent notes that Extremadura was the first region of Spain to go socialist in the post-Franco era, and is also the poorest region of Spain. So, after 30 years of failed economic policies, it is a natural that its time to teach the kiddies how to masturbate – of course, there is a slight hope that the government will prove as incompetent at this as they have been at economics. With a little luck, Extremadura will become the home of the most chaste population in the world.
Don’t think for a moment that our own liberals don’t want to bring this to the United States. You could bet your last dollar that they want it – they wish we were as “progressive” as Extremadura! Oh, the joys of jerking off! If only they could get hold of the kids and explain it to them! They’d make superb Obamaniacs!
Its what we fight against, good people – the concept that government has a role outside of law enforcement, national defense and emergency aid.

Good grief. Are the kids getting that stupid that they need lessons? I learned all by my lonesome. It’s not hard to figure out.
Mark, shouldn’t you be applauding this initiative? Less premarital sex, fewer pregnancies & abortions and a decrease in STDs. What’s the downside?
If you don’t think that government has a role outside of law enforcement, national defense, and emergency aid, then why do you support a legal definition of Marriage.
Also, where do you get the notion that the government has no role outside of law enforcement, national defense, and emergency aid? It’s certainly not in the Constitution.

bagni,
I certainly didn’t need government instruction, if it comes down to that…

You have heard of the 10th amendment, right?

giving new martian meaning to the phrase :
self responsibility
It’s instructive that the two resident Canadians jumped in first with both hands, I mean feet, on this topic.
I figure I would point that out before someone else did.
Cluster:
Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution clearly states:
The Congress shall have power to…
…coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures; (paragraph 5)
…establish post offices and post roads; (paragraph 7)
…promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to the authors and inventors the exclusive right to their writings and discoveries; (paragraph 8)
…make all laws which shall shall be necessary and proper for the carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by the Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or office thereof. (paragraph 18)
Various Amendments to the Constitution also say:
So, despite the fact that the assertion that the US government should only involve itself with national defense, law enforcement, and emergency relief (that last one isn’t actually in the Constitution, strangely enough) is false on its face, my question from my last comment still remains unanswered:
ranafruty
you are way over thinking this…..take your playboy…….go into the bathroom….call the local school board for instructions and relieve some pressure.
Then get back with us …..afterwords.
I only support a legal definition of marriage BECAUSE others are trying to redefine it from it’s historical, and well defined definition, by every society that has existed on this planet from the beginning of time.
And you have yet to define the 10th amendment, which of course may shed some light into your query.
Oh yeah… I’m over-thinking things by picking up a copy of the Constitution, thumbing through it, and finding passages to support my argument… yeesh (btw, it really was no effort, I have a copy within arm’s reach of my computer).
By the way, the 10th Amendment (the one delegating powers not given to the Federal Government to the states and to the people) doesn’t contradict anything I posted from the text of the Constitution, nor does it give the Federal Government the right to define marriage except through Amendment, which would, after all, take a large chunk of power from the states.
Strangely enough, the 10th Amendment would give the states the right to teach masturbation in their public schools, unless preempted by the Federal Government through an Amendment.
More related to the thread, I think that schools shouldn’t teach masturbation; it’s stupid and a waste of tax dollars to teach something every preteen learns in the privacy of their bathroom or in front of their computer. Sure, they should teach about safe sex and contraception (including proper condom use), but there is no need for them to teach sex techniques.
Nice to see it’s not happening in this country, after all.
Well now that I have schooled you in the definition of marriage argument, let’s go to the tenth. The tenth states the those powers not granted to the federal government by the states, are of the states power to control, therefore, if the states allow the federal to define the marriage construct, that would be an example of the tenth working they way it was intended, and to suggest that it would “take a large chunk of power” away from the states is ludicrous. A large chunk of power by “defining marriage”? That’s laughable.
Secondly, the federal government can not “premept” anything, and again I refer you to the tenth, which is a well constructed amendment restricting the federal governments scope and control. And re: masturbation, if some states felt that was in their interests, then they have that right. I am sure most wouldn’t, but somehow I see California jumping on board with that.
cluster
Yes, the Federal Government can preempt a state action by using a constitutional amendment to take a right previously given to a state and expand its own power (like it did through the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 18th Amendments). The 10th Amendment cannot be used to circumvent another Constitutional Amendment.
The 10th Amendment reads:
What is to say that people, in the unorganized way they define and choose other social mores, shouldn’t be allowed to define marriage for themselves? Would you support state governments defining other religious and cultural institutions? How would you feel about state-sanctioned dietary laws or Baptisms?
And yes, defining the mechanisms through which citizens can transfer their property after death and who gets power of attorney in case of a person’s incapacitation is a pretty big chunk of power, and those are both rights that come from legally defined Marriage.
rana
and those are both rights that come from legally defined Marriage.
and what does that have to do with masturbation being taught in schools in spain???
WTF???

did you find any reference to GOD in that little document you love to wave around mmmm?
what say you about that ??
It’s not at all strange that the 10th Amendment would give any state the right to have anything taught in its schools.
On the contrary, that is the purpose and intent of the 10th Amendment.
According to the 10th Amendment, states are the only government entities that CAN engage in education and health care, just to name two areas where the federal government is trying to take over.
Love the leaping upon the slight generalization of the enumerated powers of the Constitution—otherwise known as nit-picking. Hooray for you. Wow.
Now go back and look at the beloved Lefty programs and agendas and tell us how they fit into those enumerated powers.
The whole idea was to strictly and forcefully LIMIT the scope and power of the federal government to areas where a national government was the only logical way to address the issue—–national defense and interstate commerce, international diplomacy and protection of proprietary rights to inventions, and a few other things necessary for the smooth running of a nation.
Lefties love to mischaracterize the Constitution as a document which is full of negatives—saying what you CAN’T do rather than what you CAN. I have heard our own president, supposedly a Constitutional scholar, make that claim. But it DOES say what the federal government can do, and then goes on to make it very clear what it CAN’T do—-and clearly and unambiguously leaves the rest firmly in the authority of the states. Or the People.
There are enumerated powers. There are enumerated restrictions. And the rest falls to the states. Or to the People.
The federal tax bite should be about 3-4%, and the states should tax the remainder, to pay for their schools, their welfare programs, their highways (except for the interstate system, which was designed to aid national defense) their health care systems, etc.
Why? To limit control. It is easier to fire a state representative than a member of the national House, it is easier to fire a state senator than a federal one, it is easier to fire a governor than a president. It keeps power and authority where it belongs, locally.
But the point of the thread is the innate silliness of Liberal governments, as well as their intrusiveness into the private lives of people.
How to masturbate, how to eat, how to take care of your children, how to run your business, how to build your house, ………..
Amazona:
Do you derive this from the Constitution or from your opinion?
Also, can you show me a liberal program that I love so much? I mean, since you seem to know so much about me.
Regardless of how one wants to look at the issue, whether by personal views or on the basis of a legally defined term obtained through a consensus of lawmakers … at the end of the day, it is Almighty God who sets the standard.
It is not up to any secular documents or individuals (teachers in this case), as to what they decide they should teach, although our Constitution permits the people to have a choice in these matters. Without this, there would be no freedom. However, on an individual basis, the Constitution is subordinate to Scripture (God’s Word). Now, keep in mind, I’m not downing the Constitution…it is a wonderful document, a wonderful document because its premise is derived from the Word of God, which many people do not know because they have been told that it was “man-based, man-derived”, just like they’ve been told and repeat the claim that Scripture was derived from the “opinion-of-men.”
Some people would say that to place Scripture as superior to the Constitution would be to “subvert” our system of politics creating a “theocracy,” this is another false claim. All power in governmental institutions is delegated out by the Supreme, All-Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the Heavens and Universe, Yahweh. He lays the just foundation for government, and there are rules that must be followed, Read: Romans 13:1-7. So this means that any person in a position of leadership, whether it be our President, our Governors, or our representatives, they have duties to perform, under the guidance of God’s Word…what God’s Word tells them they must do, it must affect profoundly upon the choices that they make as our leaders, and they in a position in which they’ve been given a duty to keep order, in order to keep government in its proper usage they have a responsibility to God first and foremost.
Does this mean that they should step in and dictate what is to be taught in our nation’s schools? No, absolutely not! That is a sphere of duty that belongs to the teachers and board of personnel of any given school, school district. These teachers do not take their orders from the government. These teachers have as much of a responsibility to uphold God’s Word as any of our governmental authorities have.
Thus, it stands, teaching children to stimulate themselves erotically with their hands, is wrong. It perverts the act of sex which was created by God for the creation of new life a continuation of our kind, new baby human beings. Any deviation in this would necessitate a cutting off from the rest of mankind, and from heaven…especially for those who advocate and teach these sorts of things. They will be cut off and thrown into the lake of fire, where they will burn FOREVER and ever. As one could imagine, this becomes a very dark picture as to the future, and it is.
To my knowledge my convictions on this have remained the same and will continue to remain the same. We as a nation have deviated from God’s Word and standards when He and His standards do not change. I see no need to continue on at the present rate, due to our nation’s disobedience.
Dependent upon how obedient we are to God’s Word in the future will be the deciding factor on whether our nation succeeds or fails.
God bless!
Rana,
Your arguments are really weak. the 13-15 amendments were the result of the civil war victory and those powers were gladly given by the states to the federal government. And the 18th? You do remember it was repealed right? And a good example of why the tenth is so important.
The Constitution defines the LIMITS of the federal government and explicitly defines what authority the federal government has.
The 10th amendment specifically and explicitly says that those powers not authorized in this Constitution are remanded to the states. So rana, gay marriage, health care, education and even abortion are issues that is to be handled by the states. Of course, Nancy “are you kidding me” Pelosi and her fellow modern liberals in Congress do not see the limitations of the federal government. If they did, then they could not directly meddle in our lives, as they are attempting.
It’s time for you to go back to Civics 101.
