The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 27% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15. This is the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for President Obama.
Now, Obama is going to give his Afghan speech next Monday – that will be an interesting event. Provided he shows even the slightest bit of backbone, a lot of Americans – including me – will rally ’round him on the Afghan issue. I wonder, though, if such an event will translate in to any significant upswing in the President’s approval rating? I’m sure he’ll get a bump out of it – but will it be a large bump? Will it have any legs?
Time will tell – but if there is no bump, a small bump or a short bump, then Obama is in much worse trouble than anyone thinks.

that tainted fruit from the rotten tree is bitter and people really dont like it…
speaking of his afghanistan speech, will u pay a “war tax” to finance these expensive ops?
OO,
Certainly – I’ll agree to a doubling of my income tax…as soon as your side agrees to shut down the Departments of Energy, Education and Labor for the duration of the war. Its called a compromise, and if it doesn’t cost both sides something dear, then its not worth doing.
I’d rather pay higher taxes to pay for the war, than to pay for the fraud that is cap & trade, or the trillion dollar healthcare bill (that will actually cost 2.5 trillion), or the stimulus, or the growing, and increasingly insolvent Medicare. How’s that? Do we get to choose?
since that’s completely unrealistic the effect is to incurr more debt to pay for combat ops.
actually we already are paying more taxes in so many coneived ways to support the government that we could actually cut 1/3 of the governments waste on socialist programs and reduce taxes while fully supporting the war…
start by eliminating the FED, the IRS, and end any new programs and spending that donkaroaches have shoved into any major bill that would be considered pork and earmarks…
shoot, we could pay off the national debt if congress were willing to do what it takes to accomplish that…but they are’nt…they are like children in a sandbox…on permanent recess…
right & if we hadn’t chosen to invade iraq we could pay for afghanistan, national health care, & retire debt.
but’s that’s as realistic as js & noonan’s responses to pay for the war.
in other words you dont wanna hear about paying for afghanistan combat ops…an inconvienent truth as it were.
Let’s see…..
Pay for the war in Afghanistan
OR….
Pass an 8000 earmark spending bill after promising to ban such earmarks……
Which did the modern liberals moocher choose and the Obamateur sign?
Well, we all know what had their priorities.
OO, Obamateur and his looters in Congress have already spent in excess of the Iraq war in the first few months of Obamateur’s presidency.
Shows you where their priorities lay.
Spending on the military and wars overseas are authorized spending by the Constitution, while entitlement programs are not.
At least orrie admits that it is unrealistic to expect that useless nonproductive government agencies, once established, will ever be abolished.
Now let’s apply that to the hundreds of buureaucratic agencies that would be created by this 2000-page monstrosity they call a Health Reform Bill—-because honestly calling it an Economic Takeover Bill would be, well, honest, as well as scaring off those “moderates”.
Last February a complete stranger to me, a clerk in a drycleaning store, told me, when I told her the clothes I was picking up were for CPAC, that she and her husband had voted for Obama and were starting to think they had made a mistake.
This was within a month of the coronation/inuaguration.
When I mentioned this at CPAC, many others had the same story—that already people were telling them they thought they had made the wrong choice.
(Our response was pretty unanimous—that if these people had bothered to actually LEARN something about the man instead of just succumbing to the emotional manipulation of the Left, they would not have made that mistake—it was pretty funny to learn that we had all had the same internal reaction, though we were also tactful enough to not blurt it out. These people were already feeling bad enough about their error.)
How many people have been educated by the Department of Education?
What has the Department of Labor contributed to, say, employment?
Department of Energy—they do what???
While we’re at it, let’s strip down the Departments of Agriculture and Health to the most basic elements, holding them to a strict adherence to the Constitution. Ditto for Department of Interior. Boy, there’s a sweeping, nonspecific, title for you.
lets go further
close OSHA, dept of energy, dept of social services. The ATF, IRS, we never had most of these depts until the 60’s.
STOP all foreign aid for ten years,
help NO other country’s disasters,
pull all our troops out of all other country’s.
end all food stamp, welfare, assistance, deport all ILLEGAL persons and any and all offsprings in this country and close the borders.
Make a national sales tax with NO exemptions or exceptions.
stop the looting and mooching (that tired has so amply named) and in one generation we would be debt free and the world leader once again.
survival of the fittest,
markproval….
obama’s numbers are low
because he is sitting on his hands….
and tell neo
the idea of national sales tax is good
but repubs/dems would never pass
too many lawyers and accountants would lose jobs
however
your interstellar isolationist ideas of pulling out of everything?
sounds perfect for you on tgiving…..
please go out and do a good deed ok?
