Yeah, they shouldn’t be picking on Beck. He’s an entertainer not an elected official. Show Biz figures are free to be a colorful in their language as they see fit. Just sit back and enjoy the performance.

Of course the ‘beckers’ want Beck off the air.
I avoided Beck for years because I don’t like his personality. But when his predictions about the economic meltdown proved to be so accurate, I started trying to get past the buffoonery to the message, and it is certainly a message the RRL don’t want out there.
Beck has done more research on the Obama czars than anyone has, digging up quotes, audio and video of them speaking to their extremely radical ideologies and agendas, and the last thing the RRL can tolerate is having more Americans exposed to that kind of fact-finding.
Beck may be full of hot air a lot of the time, but it’s hot air that will blow away the smoke and cloud the mirrors and expose the Obamunists for what they really are.
And yeah, let’s go after a prostitution reference regarding an adult elected representative who sold out for money, and just laugh off a reference to a man in his 30’s raping a 14-year-old girl—evidently political commentary should be rigidly regulated, while washed-up unfunny “comics” and even those who defile religious icons are admired and given all the benefits of the 1st Amendment.
“Entertainment” is watching RRL apologists twist themselves into pretzels, trying to apply different standards to people based on political affiliation.
Poor CNN, trying so desperately to appear significant and failing so miserably.
But I do hear they are still (marginally) ahead of MSNBC, which has been described as having more letters in its name than it has viewers.
I didn’t hear the reference—did Beck actually call her a “streetwalker”? Trying to figure out if orrin actually said something funny for a change. On purpose, that is………..

As opposed to Olberman, who’s strictly in it for the nobility of the cause. And what is exactly wrong with being in it for the money? The more the message resonates, the more listeners tune in, and the more money he receives. And as it stands now, he is dwarfing Olberman in listenership, so I guess his message resonates more.

And what does the ball tell us is the driving factor behind Glenn’s positions? MONEY, of course. GREED. He is not pure of heart, speaking truth to power, like Ranty Rhodes and Tom Hartmann and spittle-flying Keith Olbermann. Nooooooo.
You see, when you can’t address opposition with fact, all that is left is to trivialize, or demonize. Reframe the dialogue, redefine the terms, set up some goofy straw men that can easily be knocked down, trivialize.

“He’s just in it for the money” (Demonizing)

Note that no one has addressed the ISSUE, being so dedicated to implementing radical Leftist tactics to marginalize opposition.
Why not? you may ask. Well, you have to fight with what you’ve got. And all the RRL usually has is their little bag of tricks (back to the prostitution reference, I guess…) so that is what they use.
Lies. Trivialization. Demonization. Marginalization. Straw men. Ridicule. But issues? Not from OUR RRL.
When is the last time you saw one of these trolls step up to the plate and declare a coherent political philosophy and then basea defense of a Liberal action on that ideology? I have yet to see it here, and I have repeatedly challenged posters to do so.
We don’t get politically-based ideologues stating “I am a Marxist, I believe in the Marxist Manifesto and that it is the ideal form of government and I support Obama’s efforts to ‘tranform’ this nation according to that model, and that is why I agree with __________”.
No, we get “Obama is NOT a Marxist” and “wingnut” and “birther” and “paranoid” and “conspiracy theory” and “Religious Right” and so on. Trivialization. Marginalization. Demonization. Ridicule. Lies.
Even though I do not agree, philosophically, with the far Left, I can at least respect a thought-out and dedicated political philosophy. It’s the mindless lemmings parroting talking points and playing stupid games that make me disgusted and contemptuous.
While I was writing the post above, Canadian Observer kindly provided me with an excellent example to illustrate my point.

No, you silly goose, what we have been trying to explain to you is the difference between OPINION shows, such as Beck and Hannity, and NEWS shows, such as Fox News.
You and yours are always getting all wound up about “FAUX” News because you simply do not understand the difference between news and opinion—understandable, as on the networks there IS no difference between news and opinion.
But you whine and whimper about Fox NEWS being biased, and as examples you give opinion shows like Beck and Hannity. And clearly, no matter how much we explain, you still don’t get it.
Now you are substituting “entertainer” for “opinion show” and “Republican policy makers” for actual news shows.
I suppose you think you made some kind of point, but nope, nah, ya didn’t. Except that you still don’t understand the difference between opinion shows and newscasts, and you still depend on redefining terms, trivializing the debate, and in general using all sorts of infantile gamesmanship to dodge having to address the issues.

keef, I usually do ignore troll droppings, but sometimes one of them lobs a slow one over the plate that allows me to make a point at his expense.
My feathers remain unruffled, and I certainly understand I will never change any of their half-baked ‘opinions’ because I understand they are only mindless twitches of ignorance encouraged and enabled by their minders, who fill them full of crap and send them out to make fools of themselves.
Remember, some people read this blog without participating. So it seems to me that we either need to studiously purge the blog of the lies and other excrement deposited by the trolls, or address at least some of it, lest it be taken as fact because it was not disputed. I’d be perfectly happy with purging, but as long as they are allowed to use the blog as a litter box, I think sometimes it is necessary to balance their lies with truth and fact.
And they do serve a purpose. For example, I used to listen to some of the toxic sludge put out on Air America, just to keep up with what they were saying. Now all I have to do is scan the latest toxic sludge from the Lefty Lemmings to take the pulse of the RRL and see where they are heading and what has them spooked.
If any of them were ever to base a cogent argument on a clearly stated and coherent poltical philosophy, instead of just indulging in infantile gotchas, I would think the Left was finally getting a cadre of True Believers put together, a base of people with a commitment to a specific political belief. As long as I can keep poking the resident trolls, challenging them to take a coherent stand and having them dodge the issue, as long as they can only respond with silly knee-jerk talking points, I know the Left is still what it always has been—-a limited number of dedicated elites and a mass of babbling fools sucked in by feel-good rhetoric and the ability to indulge their personality disorders under the pretense they are really political pundits.
