Just amazing:
Democratic Senator Max Baucus nominated his girlfriend to be US Attorney in Montana while they were dating.
Roll Call reported:
Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus’ office confirmed late Friday night that the Montana Democrat was carrying on an affair with his state office director, Melodee Hanes, when he nominated her to be U.S. attorney in Montana.
First off: Just imagine if this had been a Republican!
Anyways – here we see the complete disregard for basic decency and the contempt our political class has for us and our morals. It should (a) never have occurred to Senator Baucus to have an affair with a subordinate; (b) never have happened before his divorce was final; (c) never should have occurred to him to nominate the party to his adulterous and possibly illegal affair as US Attorney. But, Baucus didn’t care – he’s a Master of the Universe and we peons just don’t have the right to question him.
Get out, Senator – resign, right now.

I agree, Mark. Baucus should resign, as well as Ensign and Vitter.

the usual libTARD answer = stooge kbg,
“I know you are but what am I ??”
ya de ya gop/bush/B.S.blah blah blah
liberalism is a mental disorder!
Mark
this is so typical of this rotten to the core party, it is disgusting….
Gotta pay for that companionship somehow.
kfc, this is about Baucus, you moron. Mark has called on Ensign to resign, you stupid oxygen thief.
Cluck, cluck, jerkweed.
Hey guys, Baucus’ behaviour is a resume enhancement when it comes to the left. Just ask kfc…
“ain’t it funny how when their with your party it ain’t crazy”.
Go blow it out of you hole. At least he was seperated from his wife. Does he get a pass because he was with a woman and not a man? If he was catholic would he get a pass?
Absolutely. Join those honorable Republican senators that resigned the very moment their sex scandals broke, such as John Ensign, David Vitter and Mark Sandford, because you know, they didn’t want the opposition posting such things as
So of course they resigned the very second their sex scandals broke…
Oh… wait… No they didn’t. Guess it’s only Liberals whose entire party is rotten. Rottenness is OKIYAR.
Go blow it out of you hole.
Didn’t graduate from UF, did you?
Hey, Arctick Cow, Sandford ain’t a senator, and none of these offered up a cushy govt job to thier lovers, did they?
More got’cha from the morons and cows. We’re talkin’ about Baucus, aren’t we?
You libs need to get a life, and get out of ours. You’re hated and unwelcome. Get off the short bus, and jump in front of it…
Queef,
The difference is that I think ANY politician that cheats on their spouse should resign. You think only the Democratic ones should. In fact, if you look at Gingrich and Guiliani it seems infidelity is a rite of passage for your party.
You’re hated and unwelcome. Get off the short bus, and jump in front of it…keef

Some more of that good old Christian love & compassion, eh, Keefer?
You still call yourself one, right?
kfc
if you look at
Gingrich and Guilianikennedy and clinton it seems infidelity is a rite of passage for your party.fixed KFC
That we know of. Ensign offered up a cushy job and an even cushier severance package, but I suppose that doesn’t count because it wasn’t a government job.
Look, when are you going to stop being hypocritical? When is the right going to start offering cheating politicians the boot instead of forgiveness? Fair enough to call for a Democrat who is having an affair to resign in disgrace; he should, and I have no problem with calling for that. But Republicans have reacted with “Oh, he’s sorry, and he’s a Christian, and God has forgiven him so everthing’s fine now” to such sex scandals, and it is hypocritical for anyone to accuse the Democrats of being “rotten to the core” and yet behave that way towards cheating Republicans. Rules cover both parties.
who elected these liberals, and what are they thinking about. i guess its the norm for a congressman to get caught and think for a moment…who’s going to prosecute?
they hire prostitutes in Congress for these big wigs…
America will pay for all this sinfulness and greed and filthy that goes on in Washington. Men who tell their districts about morals, dedication, strength and help, then when they get to Washington… its pathetic. just like the congressmen who hid all this money in his freezer. what a reprobate. and don’t cry cracist to me. this man should go to prison for the rest of his life not just 2 – 5 years. he broke his trust., but what about all these senators that are behind the scenes, stealing, robbing, lying, cheating, womanizing, and Barney Frank in his homosexual escapades and bribery and cheating and stealing. how utterly ungodly and pathetic for these men who call themselves humans.
they are of the lowest sort in American opionions and it will show on election day.
The ones that have helped their districts get billions over the years (i.e. robert byrd of west virginia), and where on Gods green earth did this senator think he was gonna get all these billions he sent to West Virginia. Who did it help?
NOBODY THAT’S WHO
Go to that state and look at the buildings, and bridges, and monuments.. instead of being dedicated to our men and women who spilled their blood protecting these pilfars in Washington DC., his name is on every building and bridge. Robert C Byrd Highway, Robert C. Byrd Memorial Building, Robert C. Byrd Center, Mrs Emma Byrd College @ Beckley WV, Robert C Byrd Memorial Highway, Robert C. Byrd Square, Robert C. Byrd Bridge, after bridge after bridge and dirt road… want more?
I have about 800 more if you want them.
get my POINT??
God help america.
CO
Some more of that good old Christian love & compassion, eh, Keefer?
an A$$HAT is an A$$HAT. Keef merely pointed out the obvious which is not in conflict with Christian beliefs.
so should we (Christians) love nazis? Hitler?
no
well we dont like marxists either and that is just what you lefty donkRATS are.
and go to California.. read your monuments
go to Massachusetts read your monuments
go to Maine read them
Alaska had such an honorable governor, God-fearing and moral. She will hopefully run for President of this Great United States of America. And maybe by then America will have awoke to their pennyless pockets, and broken promises and wow what a CHANGE they voted for.
CHANGE IS WHAT WE ARE GETTING
BUT NOT THE CHANGE YOU EXPECTED
its been give to me. give to me. fill my pockets..
well the filling is over.
Reagan giveth, George Bush giveth but Obama & Pelosi spendeth it all.
fartic ox
cheating on ones spouse is a “personal matter” you know like we were told
for two years of clinton and a 21 yo employee B.J.’s
this is a different matter. he used his position to hire a girlfriend in a very high government position, but that is to hard for libtards to recognize.
God Is Love
neocon
cheating on ones spouse is NOT a personal matter. These people are held to Higher regards. They are elected to those positions and should espouse morality in its highest sense.
tiger for instance.
what a role model.
he’s ruined
he will never be the same you’ll see.
his wife will probably see to that.
but that’s another example of the ‘love of money leads to the root of all evil’
i pray tiger will seek Gods forgiveness through Jesus Christ. And do righteous.

@Neocon: Truthisright has a point – ALL of these people that hold public office are by the very nature of the office they hold, under scrutiny. They are rolemodels, for good or bad. Their behavior needs to be exemplary because they are looked up to by those not in office.
This means when they enter office, things like affairs cease to be private matters. Getting a mistress a job be it in government or in a private firm by using your public position is wrong, and it’s unforgivable. This goes for both parties. You cannot accuse one party of being corrupt or rotten and at the same time excuse that behavior in your own party – it just reveals your own corruption.
I guess, my first question would be: Is she qualified? If she is, then what’s the problem? As for Vitter, Ensign, and Sanford, the question should be, did they break the law? If not, I don’t care.
My initial reaction would probably be quite similar: “Good! Maybe we can get rid of him!” Baucus is not exactly well liked.
To the best of our knowledge, Ensign’s affair was with the wife, not the husband, though I suppose it could have been both.
Were they children of God?
You think only the Democratic ones should. In fact, if you look at Gingrich and Guiliani it seems infidelity is a rite of passage for your party.
I never said that, kfc; you’re a moron if you think I did. Oh wait–you are a moron. And I’m quite sure Mark had some rather scathing comments about Ensign when that all surfaced. I happen to agree with him. Did you forget all of that?
This goes for both parties. You cannot accuse one party of being corrupt or rotten and at the same time excuse that behavior in your own party – it just reveals your own corruption.
Sooo, Fartick Cow, you’re calling most of the troll pukes who pollute this blog hypocrites too?
As for Vitter, Ensign, and Sanford, the question should be, did they break the law? If not, I don’t care.
This may be the most, if not the only, sensible comment you’ve offered in years, casspurr. However, it reveals the hypocrisy of your side as a whole. Almost every time some donk gets caught up in one of these infidelity scandals, you kooks cry, “Private matter! None of our business!” Then, you go and paint us free-thinking GOP’ers with a broad brush. Any time a Republican gets caught cheating on his/her spouse, we’re all branded as devout Christians who should know better. Hell, even I’m “accused,” by a stupid Canadian who’s bumped his head on someone’s fist too many times, of being a devout Christian, when all I’ve ever claimed is to be a believer in God who has lots of healing to do with the Man upstairs.
You kooks are rather adept at “I know you are but what am I?” When B4V posts one of these threads, why don’t you either agree with it or disagree, say why, and move on? Why do you have to piss me off to the point where I suggest ungodly things? To tell the truth, with a few exceptions, I really don’t advocate you getting off the short bus and jumping in front of it. Stay on the short bus, please.
And ride it to some left-kook blog where you’ll be more than welcome…
Senator Baucus can walk out of the same door as Governor Sanford, Senator Ensign and Senator Vitter.
But I thought Reid & Pelosi were going to hold themselves to a higher standard. Guess not. Just another lie from the democrats.
Any lie told to keep the GOP out of power is a good use of lying.
From the WSJ:
Where exactly is the ethical violation here? Sen. Baucus neither initiated Ms. Hanes’ selection or ranked her above the other finalists. The woman is a highly qualified prosecutor – was he supposed to refuse to recommend her and thereby limit or diminish the quality of available applicants? His divorce was unrelated to this matter; the whole thing looks like another tempest in a partisan teapot.
“Any lie told to keep the GOP out of power is a good use of lying.”
So sadie, lying about enforcing the rule of law and ethical standards is a plus in your book?
OK, just so we are clear. Politics before country. I get it.
Another useful idiot for the democrats.
I repeat any lie that keeps conservatives out of power is a lie that serves the greater good.
“I repeat any lie that keeps conservatives out of power is a lie that serves the greater good.”
Okay, thanks for admitting that you are a mindless, useful idiot, lemming, who parrots talking points from on high.
You make me sick.
sadie
I repeat any lie that keeps conservatives out of power is a lie that serves the greater good.
a LIAR and a FOOL…….
liberalism is a mental (and spiritual) disease.
