Obama At New Polling Low

I really didn’t expect it to get this bad:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 24% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.

That’s a one point improvement from yesterday when Obama’s Approval Index rating fell to the lowest level yet recorded. Prior to the past three days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama’s time in office.

We’re heading towards GW Bush post-Katrina numbers here.

Now, is this a permanent trend? I’m not sure, but it doesn’t seem to be related to just how the economy is going. There hasn’t been any major bad economic news for a couple months now and lots of alleged good news – so what is driving Obama down isn’t “its the economy, stupid”, but something else.

It could be that the bloom is just off the rose – we know what we’ve got for President, and we don’t like it. He’s just been terrible – and the more he travels around and talks about himself, the worse it gets.

  1. sadieannmartin says:

Gallup has Obama at 48% which is normal for about right now in a first term. They also have recent polling as of yesterday that shows registered voters are favoring the generic Democrats 48 to 45 over the generic GOP for the 2010 Congressional races.

  2. sadieannmartin says:

The important part of that Galllup congressional election poll is that the Democrats have closed the gap they had among indepnedent voters from 52% favoring the GOP vicde 30% favoring them to 44% favoring the GOP to 40% favoring them.

  3. js02 says:

    really?

    48% is normal?

Said who…Gallop and the pro commie socialists club?

bush was in the high 80s at this point

clinton was at 53% in his first december..

that covers the last 16 years…surely you jest…BHO is rating lower than any president in polling history…

  4. arcman46 says:

As I have said before, if you still approve of what BHO is doing, you are either a far leftist, or you’re not paying attention.

  5. Mark Noonan says:

    Sadie,

That Gallup poll will be proven an outlier – and as it is a poll of less than 900 registered voters, its pretty weak, even if accurate. Right now, Democrats are exceptionally week and if you think a Congress with 26% approval is going to do well in 2010, then you’re just well…you’re what you are: a shill, paid or otherwise.

“Not handouts, solutions not slogans, solutions”

Well that leaves the present leadership (a term that is not applicable to the present bunch of looters) out in the cold.

Everyone of their “solutions” has had a handout in it, in one form or the other.

“Hope and change” and “yes we can” was shown to be a flash in the pan. No substance.

But, you, sadie, would feel at home in the “old confederacy” with your pathetic archaic views.

  8. magnum says:

    Ahhh Rasmussen yet again.

    Next

  9. tiredoflibbs says:

    “Ahhh Rasmussen yet again.”

Ah, stupidity yet again. To use another favored leftist talking point: Obamateur’s job approval numbers “are trending” down. To you and your fellow lemmings, that was a basis to believe global warming and climate change. The data was trending up.

All the national polls show Obamateur’s job approval are going in a negative direction. But what else would you expect from a non-leader.

  10. sadieannmartin says:

If Obama’s approval numbers fewll in one day to 15% he’d will still be in office until January 2013. Now think on that a minute people you have this man, a man of intellect and purpose, running the country for three more years and you all are hung up on who knows what. I sure hope there’s not another terror attack because all of you people are going to make fools of yourselves thinking the way to go will be to blame Obama. Do that please and see where it gets you. One day there will only be three of you “conservatives” left vying to be the last one true “conservative” that didn’t turn “traitor” to the cause.

“I sure hope there’s not another terror attack because all of you people are going to make fools of yourselves thinking the way to go will be to blame Obama.”

Uh, you dumba$$e$ blamed Bush for 9/11 and will blame Bush for future attacks.

“running the country for three more years and you all are hung up on who knows what.”

Uh, you dumba$$e$ again were hung up on anything and everything to get Bush out of office for 8 years.

sadie, you suffer from what is called projection and a stupidity that is flagrant amongst the demons from the pitchfork. I mean your live in your own little land of make-believe and you start your posts with “…. of sanity”. If that is sanity, I’d hate to see you in one of your insane episodes.

    Seek help.

  12. If you look at the numbers, you’ll see that Strongly Disapprove has been hovering around 40% since August. The changes in Rasmussen’s imaginary indicator have been driven by changes in Strongly Approve, which has been declining steadily as the healthcare bill gets watered down, and declined sharply as progressives decided they didn’t like the idea of expanding the part of Medicare that turns a profit, or that if they did, they should at least pretend they didn’t as a bargaining ploy. Also, they want Joe Lieberman to be encased in a thick protective layer of concrete and dropped into the Mariana Trench.

By the way, Mark, you might find this interesting.
