That is the amount of debt increase and the number of days it took Obama to do it
The latest posting from the Treasury Department shows the National Debt has increased over $2 trillion since President Obama took office.
The debt now stands at $12.6 trillion. On the day Mr. Obama took office it was $10.6 trillion.
President George W. Bush still holds the record for the most debt run up on his watch: $4.9 trillion. But it took him over four years to rack up the first two trillion dollars in debt. It has taken Mr. Obama 421 days.
Weren’t the liberals on and on about fiscal responsibility?
Oh yeah, forgot: that was just campaign BS.

Probably the most informative chart I’ve ever seen on this subject. Thanks.
ah, the usual mindless, lemming, useful idiot reply……..
pathetic.
Winnow,
Nice try – but if Obama would just spend as much as Bush did in 2004, we’d have a surplus.
Remember, your side was saying that amount was worst bit of profligacy imaginable.
You can’t have it both ways.
Not to mention the big spending hike towards the end of Bush’s second term was a result of TARP, which Obama practically demanded. Obama is as responsible for that disaster as Bush, then Obama trumped himself and proceeded to outspend every president in the history of our country.
Chalk this up to the Dem lunacy that they can spend their way out of an economic crisis.
HAHAHAHAHAHA>..that’s a classic statement….tfmo is blaming a person who was NOT in office for something the President at that time did.
Its like Obama put a gun to bush’s head and made him sign tarp into law! what a joke this guy is.
Are you claiming Obama DIDN’T push for TARP, Missy?
And I’ll remind you, dipstick, that the President can only sign a bill that’s been put on his desk BY THE CONGRESS AND SENATE. Had he refused to sign, that would have been a veto. The bill would then return to the Legislative branch and a vote would be held to override the veto, which would have happened. And who had the majority? That would be the DEMS, the same people who pushed the bill.
Whether Bush signed it or not, the bill would have gone through.
Simp.
winnow refuses to look past her daily talking point fax…..
As usual, she cannot see the massive spending after TARP, because her handlers say so.
maz, as usual, you comment on something you know nothing about.
You have the mental equivalence of a one-legged man at an a$$-kicking contest.
I just posted the numbers. When you don’t accept the facts, you don’t come across very credibly.
winnow,
Yeah, that big amount labeled “Bush Policies” is really convincing.
I’m afraid you’ve come to the wrong place to try and sell either that, or the notion that your side wasn’t complaining about levels of spending FAR LESS than what Obama is doing, now.
Riiiight. And the NYT is known world-wide for its credibility and non-biased reporting.
Sounds like Question Time to me!
1: Was there a large increase in spending in the final months of Bush’s second term?
2: Was that increase caused by TARP?
3: Did Obama support TARP?
4: Has Obama increased spending spending by a massive amount, as compared to all previous presidents?
5: Has the Dem tactic of spending more and increasing taxes EVER gotten our country out of a bad economic situation?

We’ll wait.
You two can keep living in your little fantasy world. But it is difficult to take the unshakably fact-challenged seriously.
Oh no no no. You claim you have alllll the facts here, Minnowhead. Please, DO educate us and answer the questions.
but wasnt…the democrat controlled congress…you know…the one with the out of control earmarks…for…what…3 years running…didnt they push for tarp…bush signed it…true…but only because congress passed it…really…and this congress is still in charge…lying to the american people…stabbing thier constituents in the backs so to speak…just like winnowcluelessbimbohead…doesnt think about what it posts…doesnt care what it says…or how false the conclusions are and how they are drawn…just a stupid bimbo going “weee weee weee” proving the very liberal application of ignorance makes lemming jump off the cliff…its true…
“You two can keep living in your little fantasy world. But it is difficult to take the unshakably fact-challenged seriously.”
Indeed. But hey, at least Mark is admitting that if you want to talk facts, this is the wrong place. Mark, ‘mo, etc. just want to talk wingnut spin and then call it “facts.”
The underlying humor here is that, as Mark’s quote says, “President George W. Bush still holds the record for the most debt run up on his watch: $4.9 trillion.” And what does Mark want? A doubling down on Bush’s policies! Hilarious.
9-11, afghanistan, iraq, and katrina did it for Bush…banks, car manufacturers, and lies got obummer…how can you compare it?
The USA has failed with a tyrannical government voted in by those who would have done Hitler proud. My dad use to say, “once the government becomes too big and the citizen does nothing you have a failed country.”
My dad along will millions walked in unison during the great depression holding up signs asking for jobs. Nowadays the Democrats would have called him unAmerican and a thug and a nazi.
“those who would have done Hitler proud. ”
And then, three sentences later, this:
“Nowadays the Democrats would have called him unAmerican and a thug and a nazi.”
Godwin for thee but not for anybody else, huh, uffy?
I’ll leave you to your sputtering rage now.
