Democratic Talking Points, Part 2

The latest is that to criticize Mrs. Obama is racist and/or race baiting.

Other than a generalized, knee-jerk leftwing insistence that we conservatives are inherently racist (in liberal-think, if we weren’t racists, we’d be liberals), I can’t figure this one out - I can see an argument that attacking Mrs. Obama is unfair (even though its not), but liberals are really pulling this talking point out of their nether regions.

This talking point, absurdity aside, is the close cousin of the talking point about Obama’s past and associations - the real intent of them is to get the entirety of any part of Obama’s past and associations off the table, and set the stage for accusations later in the campaign that any criticism of Obama (especially if he winds up down in the polls at some point) is inherently racist in nature.

Democratic Talking Points, Part 1

I’m going to start listing what are clearly DNC/Obama Campaign talking points, just to see them develope. This is what I’ve gathered so far in the cycle since Obama emerged as the de-facto nominee:

1. Republicans better not take issue with Obama’s past or associations.

2. The Republicans will run a nasty campaign via their 527s, infamous for the way they made politics nasty.

For number 1, its a matter of Democrats trying to declare Obama, as a person, off limits to attack…we’re supposed to only talk about his hope for change and what a wonderful guy he is. No fair bringing up his missed votes, his thin record of achievement, his connections to terrorists and anti-American kooks…

For number 2, this is just bizarre - it is liberals who used 527s in 2004, hardly any such expenditures were on the right. The fact that Democrats are willing to go out and repeat this talking point just shows how far disconnected the run of the mill liberal is from any sense of truth.
