Open Thread: Super Bowl

Do the Giants have a chance? I don’t think so - I’ll be rooting for them because the Patriots committed the unpardonable sin of football; knocking the Chargers out of the playoffs, but the plain fact of the matter seems to be that the Patriots are just the best team to ever play football, and I don’t think the Giants will deny them their perfect season.

What do you think?

UPDATE, by Matt Margolis: Mark, care to make a friendly wager on the Superbowl? Loser buys dinner when we’re in D.C. this week? Go Patriots!

UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: If I get 15 points, sure…

UPDATE, by Matt Margolis: Sounds good to me!

UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: …anyone know the most expensive place to eat in DC?

UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: Oh, my! Giants in the lead, whoda thunk it?

UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: I wonder what the going price for filet mignon is in DC?

UPDATE, by Matt Margolis: I can’t believe they lost.

UPDATE, by Matt Margolis: How does this sound Mark?

UPDATE, by Mark Noonan: Cool. I’ll buy the first round as a consolation prize.

Is There a Team Which Can Beat the Patriots?

They are now 11-0, and while their win yesterday against Philly came hard, the plain fact of the matter - as far as I can see - is that the Patriots are this football machine which grinds up opponents.

There are five games left for the Patriots - at Baltimore, Pittsburg, NY Jets, Miami and at NY Giants. Can any of these teams beat the Patriots? The best record among these teams right now is 7-3.

Will New England have a perfect season?

Discuss.
